R3 million payment for Orlando Pirates coach

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has won a major legal case against his former Congolese club AS Vita following a prolonged dispute over wrongful dismissal.
Currently in Spain with his new team, Orlando Pirates, for pre-season training, the Moroccan coach received a favourable decision from FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber.
The verdict comes nearly a year after Ouaddou lodged the complaint with the global football authority.

According to reports from African media on Thursday, FIFA has officially sanctioned AS Vita, ordering the club to pay Ouaddou approximately $180,000 (around R3.2 million) in unpaid wages and bonuses. In addition to the financial penalty, the club now faces a transfer ban that will remain in effect until the full amount is paid.
R10 million from Kaizer Chiefs to sign talented PSL winger?
The dispute dates back to October 2024, when Ouaddou abruptly parted ways with AS Vita under contentious circumstances. He accused the Kinshasa-based club of unfair treatment and failure to honour his contract, leading him to take the case to FIFA.
'The former coach of AS Vita has won his case against the club and is set to smile all the way to the bank,' an insider told Soccer Laduma. 'He deserves it, as the club owed him a significant amount of money. That's why he left in the first place — not because he wanted to, but because of the situation.
'He believed in the project, and it really was a strong one at one of Africa's top clubs. But he's not focused on the past. He's now fully committed to another exciting project with Orlando Pirates, and he's happy to be there,' the source concluded.
This ruling marks a significant win for the coach and highlights the importance of contractual integrity and legal recourse in professional football.

WOW: Orlando Pirates superstar is moving Saudi Arabia

Orlando Pirates have several valuable assets on their playing roster. One of them is moving to Saudi Arabia following a massive bid. Mohau Nkota will be playing his football in Saudi Arabia next season. Pirates have promptly secured 23-year-old Oswin Appollis to soften the blow. Pirates selling superstar trio? As per impeccable local sources, Mohau Nkota is leaving Orlando Pirates. The 20-year-old has made the right-sided attacking role his own, shining on both the local and African stages. ALSO READ: Mofokeng scores as Orlando Pirates hold Pafos to a draw The full Pirates statement: Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that an agreement has been reached for the permanent transfer of Mohau Nkota to Ettifaq Club in the Saudi Pro League. The move is subject to the 20-year-old agreeing to personal terms and passing a medical. Nkota's departure comes after a standout debut season in the Buccaneers' senior squad, where he featured in 39 official matches and registered 12 goal contributions. Promoted to the first team at the start of the 2024/25 campaign following a stellar showing with the Club's DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side, the Kimberley-born attacker quickly made his mark. He made his senior debut on October 19, 2024, in the Carling Black Label Cup clash against Magesi FC, coming off the bench at halftime to replace Monnapule Saleng. From that moment on, Nkota never looked back, earning a regular place under then-head coach Jose Riveiro. Among the many highlights of his breakthrough season were his two braces; one against AmaZulu in domestic competition, and the other on the continental stage against Algerian giants CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League. His goal against Belouizdad was widely celebrated as one of the best strikes of the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League campaign.
