Coolie advance booking: Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan film collects Rs 100 crore for opening weekend, sells over 12 lakh tickets for...
Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is poised for a monumental release on August 14, 2025. The film has already shattered advance booking records, amassing over Rs 100 crore globally before its release, and has now set record for its opening day. How much has Rajinikanth's starrer Coolie garnered? As per reports by Saclink, in India, Coolie has garnered Rs 27.01 crore through bookings after selling 12,46,828 tickets, with significant contributions from Tamil Nadu (Rs 11.97 crore), Karnataka (Rs 6.85 crore), Andhra Pradesh (Rs 1.46 crore), and Telangana (Rs 1.69 crore). The film's unprecedented success extends to North America, where it has become the first Tamil film to surpass $2 million figure in premiere pre-sales. This achievement underscores Rajinikanth's enduring global appeal and the anticipation surrounding his 171st venture Coolie. Has the clash with War 2 affected Coolie? Despite the high-profile box office clash between Rajinikanth's Coolie and Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR's War 2, Coolie has maintained a strong lead in advance bookings. The film has already amassed over Rs 80 crore in worldwide pre-sales, significantly outpacing War 2, which has garnered between Rs 10–15 crore. The film's dominance is particularly evident in southern markets, with Tamil Nadu contributing Rs 22.81 crore and over 10 lakh tickets sold for first-day shows. On the other hand, War 2, while generating buzz, has seen more modest advance booking figures. In India, it has collected Rs 9.8 crore with 3.46 lakh tickets sold across 13,748 shows. The film's performance is stronger in Hindi belt and Telugu-speaking regions, owing to the presence of Jr NTR and his ardent supporters who have managed to dominate Hyderabad ticket counters. Overall, while the clash has intensified competition, Coolie's robust advance bookings and regional dominance suggest it remains largely unaffected by War 2's concurrent release. Is Coolie part of LCU? Fans are eagerly waiting for Coolie, not just because it stars Rajinikanth, but also due to its rumored connection with the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). After Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo, audiences are speculating whether Coolie will tie into the same universe. The anticipation is sky-high, with fans excited to see if Lokesh Kanagaraj drops subtle hints or a direct crossover, making Coolie a potential game-changer in the LCU timeline. However, as per Lokesh it is a standalone film, which is a massive tribute to Thalaivar Rajinikanth's humongous legacy in Tamil Cinema. More about Coolie Coolie features a star-studded cast, including Akkineni Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. Coolie brings together a strong technical team, music by Anirudh Ravichander, known for his energetic tracks and innovative use of AI, visuals by acclaimed cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and crisp editing by Philomin Raj, a frequent collaborator who has always been backbone of Lokesh Kanagaraj's masterpieces.

She debuted as Mammootty's heroine, was diagnosed with cancer immediately after hard-fought divorce battle
It's often said that you never know what's around the corner. In the case of actor and television presenter Jewel Mary, this couldn't be truer. Once a prominent face in the Malayalam entertainment industry and the go-to person to host major celebrity and award events, Jewel's life recently took a turbulent turn, affecting her emotionally and financially. Yet, she remains determined and is taking on every obstacle head-on. The actor recently opened up about the struggles she faced over the past few years, which included a tough divorce battle and a cancer diagnosis. In what she once described as an 'arranged-cum-love marriage', Jewel Mary married Jenson Zachariah, a programme producer in the entertainment industry, in 2015. The couple parted ways in 2021; the divorce was finalised in 2024. Jewel revealed that the process was far from easy and that it was a hard-fought legal battle, which she eventually won. 'I fought a lot to get there. I have heard many people say that divorce is easy. But for me, it wasn't like that. I won after a hard fight. I fought for this for three to four years. If it's a mutual divorce, you can get it in six months. I tried for a long time to get a mutual divorce, but it didn't happen. In the end, it was a hard-won divorce. So you can call it a battle,' Jewel said in an interview with Dhanya Varma. Finally free, Jewel decided to embrace life to the fullest and give herself the happiness she deserved. 'I thought I should enjoy life at least now. So I went to a show in London. I spent a month there. I have friends there. I went to see them. I went to England, Ireland, and Scotland. It was a thrilling solo trip. It was the pinnacle of happiness. I celebrated my birthday that year in London. After all that, I returned home. I came back after spending all the money I had. I know I will have to work again.' She continued, 'I had a thyroid problem for seven years. My weight would change suddenly. Along with that, there was internal trauma, stress and PCOD. I went for a regular check-up one day. There were no other problems. When I coughed, a lot of phlegm would come out. I would always be clearing my throat. Since I am a presenter, I have to use my voice all the time. I thought that was the problem.' 'The doctor said let's do a scan. I have studied BSc Nursing. I can understand what is happening by looking at it. I understood when I saw them marking. My legs started to get cold. Their faces started to change. Then they said they would do a biopsy. My leg wouldn't move. They were frozen. I said no out of fear. They told me not to say that and that it had to be done. The doctor had hinted that it could be cancer. It would take 15 days for the biopsy results to come. Life slowed down. The doctor said that after the results came, we needed to confirm it once more. Another biopsy was done. All this time, I didn't show any fear in front of my family. I stood strong in front of them. When the second result came, I knew I was in trouble,' Jewel recalled. In February, Jewel underwent a seven-hour surgery, after which she completely lost her voice. 'They said it would take six months. My left hand became weak. I couldn't do any activity. There was physio and therapy,' she said, adding that she had to use all her savings for the treatment as she had no insurance. 'After six months, I went for a review. The doctor checked my report and said, 'Congratulations, you are free of cancer.' The joy I felt at that moment is indescribable. Now I have to have a review every six months,' Jewel added. Jewel first rose to fame as the co-host of the hit reality show D4 Dance, before making an enviable entry into cinema, playing the female lead opposite Malayalam megastar Mammootty in two back-to-back films, Utopiayile Rajavu and Pathemari. She then went on to appear in films such as Ore Mukham, Thrissivaperoor Kliptham, Annadurai, Njan Marykutty, Maamanithan, Paappan, Kshanikam, Antony and A Ranjith Cinema. Jewel Mary was last seen in Get-Set Baby.

Taylor Swift's Bathroom Was Destroyed After Zoe Kravitz's Snake Slid Into A 'Hole In The Corner'
Zoe began "freaking out" as the snake got further and further into the hole. Zoe Kravitz and her mom almost lost their pet snake in Taylor Swift's house. The Big Little Lies actress and Lisa Bonet were staying at her friend's home amid the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year when they got into a 'little bit of a pickle" after the 57-year-old model's beloved reptile Orpheus slithered its way into a tiny hole in the bathroom and they were unable to retrieve her without causing major damage. Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Zoe said: 'She was kind enough to let me stay at her house… We ended up having to stay there for about two weeks, and Taylor has this beautiful house—it's from the '30s, something you want to preserve and take care of. So me and my mom are living in this house together. It was the last day – I was gonna leave, my mom was gonna stay longer, but I had to go for work." She said: 'I was kinda going around packing up my things and saying to my mom, 'I wanna be a good houseguest'. I leave places better than I found them. I don't want her to even know we were here.' I'm going around cleaning up. I'm downstairs and she's upstairs, and my phone rings and it was my mom. I'm like, 'That's weird, we're in the same house.'" She recalled: 'She goes 'Hi' and I'm like, 'Your voice is super high'. And she goes, 'I'm in a bit of a pickle. Can you come upstairs?' I go upstairs, the bathroom door is closed, so I open [it] and she's crouched in the corner in this weird way. She says, 'So I was washing my face and I had Orpheus, and I just put her down for a second, closed the door, and she found this little hole in the corner.'" Zoe said: 'There was a little hole that you wouldn't even know was there, right in the corner of the bathroom. The hole is next to a banquette that is built into the wall. My mom is holding the snake's tail. Snake's tail, they're all muscle and very, very strong. I'm like 'Maybe this hole goes into the drawers.' I get down on the ground, take the drawers out, no." Zoe began 'freaking out" as the snake got further and further into the hole and called for help from the house manager, who began 'tearing apart" the banquette. She continued: 'We're ripping up the tile. We're scratching the walls. We destroyed her bathroom. I was like, 'Either we destroy her bathroom or I have to tell her that there's a snake somewhere in her house.' I said to her house manager, 'Obviously, I'm gonna pay for everything to be fixed. Please just don't say anything until it's fixed.'" But when the 36-year-old star called her pal, the Look What You Made Me Do hitmaker was already well aware of what had happened. She said: 'I remember calling her, saying, 'Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something.' And she was like, 'Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?'"
