Camara Controls Chaos to Take Brilliant Bahrain F3 Win
TDT | Manama
Rafael Camara showed his championship credentials with a cool and commanding drive to win the Formula 3 Feature Race in Bahrain, claiming his second victory of the season in style.
The Ferrari Driver Academy rookie was made to work for it. Starting from pole, Camara briefly lost the lead to Callum Voisin after a brave dive into Turn 3 from the Rodin Motorsport driver. But the Trident racer kept his nerve and fought back, reclaiming top spot with a bold move at Turn 7 on Lap 5 — and never looked back.
From there, Camara found his rhythm and began to stretch his legs. As the chaos unfolded behind, he pulled clear, managing his tyres perfectly to finish 5.7 seconds ahead of the field.
'It was a tough race at the start,' Camara said. 'But once I got back in front, I focused on keeping it clean and consistent. The car felt great — I'm really happy.'
Behind him, Voisin had his hands full. He came under increasing pressure from a charging Tim Tramnitz, who produced the drive of the day. Starting a lowly 13th, the MP Motorsport driver carved his way through the pack with some brilliant overtakes — his move on Tuukka Taponen in the final laps securing a deserved podium.
Further back, the midfield was anything but calm. Lap 2 saw a three-way squeeze at Turn 1 involving James Wharton, Ivan Domingues and Matias Zagazeta, while Freddie Slater was forced to retire on Lap 3 with a mechanical issue.
Charlie Wurz had been in the mix early on but faded as the race wore on, losing out to Red Bull juniors Taponen and Nikola Tsolov in the closing stages.
One of the standout performances came from Spain's Mari Boya, who celebrated his birthday in style with a storming drive from 20th on the grid to finish eighth — a gritty and determined recovery that didn't go unnoticed.
As Camara extends his lead at the top of the standings, the F3 grid now looks ahead to Jeddah — but the Brazilian has already made it clear: he's the one to beat.

Ancelotti pledges to make struggling Brazil ‘champions again'
Carlo Ancelotti on Monday ruled injury-plagued Neymar out from Brazil's line-up for upcoming World Cup qualifiers and vowed to lead the team to a sixth title on his first day as Selecao coach. Former Real Madrid manager Ancelotti is the first non-Brazilian in six decades to coach the record five-time World Cup winners. 'I'm very proud to lead the best team in the world. I have a big job ahead of me and have great hope that Brazil will become champions again,' he said during his official presentation at a hotel in Rio de Janeiro. 'The only goal is to win the 2026 World Cup,' he said after receiving a green-and-yellow coach's jacket from Luiz Felipe Scolari, the manager who took Brazil to its last World Cup win in 2002. At 65, the Italian star manager, who has five Champions League titles under his belt, is taking the reins of a national team for the first time. Expectations are high in football-mad Brazil that he can revive the squad's fortunes. To that end, he announced the return of Manchester United midfielder and former Brazil captain Casemiro for June's qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay, alongside Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr and Barcelona winger Raphinha. Ancelotti is Brazil's fourth coach in two years, and he faces a formidable task. 'Brazil was sort of decaying and needed that little light at the end of the tunnel. I think he is that light,' said Jose Geraldo Da Silva, a 65-year-old retiree, who was waiting outside the Rio hotel to try catch a glimpse of the new trainer.

Ronaldo Hints At Saudi Al Nassr Exit With Cryptic X Post: Reports
Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at his departure from Al Nassr after scoring in Monday's Saudi Pro League season finale against Al Fateh, according to media reports. The Portuguese forward found the net in what could prove to be his final appearance for the Saudi club, though Al Nassr suffered a 3-2 defeat. The result meant the team failed to qualify for next season's AFC Champions League. Following the match, Ronaldo posted an image of himself wearing his Al Nassr shirt on social media with the caption: 'This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Thanks to all.' Ronaldo posts cryptic message following final Al Nassr match. The 39-year-old's current contract with Al Nassr expires in June. His goal against Al Fateh marked his 99th strike in 105 matches for the club since joining in January 2023. Ronaldo finished the Saudi Pro League campaign as the division's leading scorer with 25 goals, despite his team's failure to secure continental competition. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker has now scored 937 goals throughout his career, with 801 of those coming at club level. Reports emerged last week suggesting Ronaldo had received an offer from an unnamed Brazilian club. The move would allow him to participate in the expanded Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States from 14 June to 13 July. Four Brazilian teams – Botafogo, Fluminense, Flamengo and Palmeiras – have qualified for the tournament.
