THERE are plenty of hazards that come with the role of a pitch side football presenter.
For Scots telly favourite Connie McLaughlin, her 'worst nightmare' has unfortunately come true.

Connie has become one of the most prominent presenters on Scottish football, providing coverage across the BBC, Premier Sports and TNT Sports.
It was TNT duty for her this past weekend as she headed for Stamford Bridge.
That's where Chelsea and Barcelona were facing-off in the second leg of their Women's Champions League semi-final clash.
The game itself saw Barca ease their way to the final with a 4-1 win on the day, 8-1 on aggregate.
But before things got underway in West London, chaos struck for poor Connie!
The presenter took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of an unfortunate moment RIGHT before they went live on TNT Sports.
Pointing towards her hair, Connie revealed she'd been SOAKED before the broadcast began.
Seeing the funny side, she said: "The pitch side reporter's worst nightmare finally came true!
"Sprinkler (felt like a power hose) right in the side of the face just before we went on air! 🤣"
Former Barcelona and England star Toni Duggan was also part of the TNT Sports team and she managed to get the actual footage of the unfortunate moment!
Celtic have clinched the Premiership title - now Hatate could leave with SIX players coming in
Duggan shared the clip - seemingly filmed from a production area - on her Instagram stories, showing the exact moment the water came blasting towards herself and Connie.
The unsuspecting presenter was clearly caught off guard, with the water striking her when her back was turned as she checked something on her phone.
The powerful blast sends the duo running towards the sidelines, but there isn't exactly far for them to go.
Ex-footie ace Duggan was full of praise for Connie, adding on a further post: "Handled like a pro and still looked fab @conniehmclaughlin.
"Enjoyed working with you today, even if we was drenched!"
It isn't the first time Connie has been caught up in a rather unfortunate moment while broadcasting.
Late last year, while live on Radio 5 Live at Celtic Park, she revealed a bird had POOED on her while she was reporting.
Always seeing the funny side, she remarked - alongside photographic evidence: "That's a direct hit from a bird on my head whilst I was live on @5livesport."

Steven Pressley admits 'I could have cried for my players' after Rangers sickener as Dundee boss gushes with pride

Pressley watched his side go so close to an historic win at Ibrox Steven Pressley admitted he could have cried for his players after James Tavernier 's last gasp penalty deprived Dundee of a famous win. ‌ The Dens boss labelled his players 'exceptional' and insists the club's first Ibrox point in 24 years can help boost confidence after a difficult opening to the season and propel them up the table. ‌ Ryan Astley looked to have sealed all three points with his 51st minute opener. But Tavernier struck from the spot after Drey Wright pulled down Djeidi Gassama. ‌ And Pressley said: 'I went on record all week talking about the perfect performance, you know, the club since 2001 haven't picked up a point here, so we needed an incredible performance, we needed luck, and I think the players delivered that. 'They were exceptional. 'I said to them in the dressing room I could have cried for them at the end there, they left every last ounce out on the pitch, they showed the courage that I spoke about. 'I thought we deserved more. I thought we had some really good moments, we obviously hit the post with some really good counter-attack moments, and I was exceptionally proud of our performance.' Pressley was under more pressure than anyone at Dens after a poor start to the season saw them crash out the Premier Sports Cup at the group stage following defeats to Airdrie and Alloa. An opening Premiership defeat at home to Hibs last weekend saw the new boss under the spotlight heading to his old stomping ground in Govan. ‌ But his players responded with a disciplined and powerful display to turn Ibrox against their own side. And Pressley said: 'I've talked a lot about progression, seeing improvements. I saw some green shoots last week against HIbs, and again, further improvements today, but we're under no illusions, there's a lot, a lot of hard work ahead of us. 'One point in this league gets you relegated, so there's so much hard work ahead. ‌ 'Along the way it's always really important to get certain results and I think the players will take a lot of confidence from that, because there were some incredible performances out there as individuals. 'The collective was good, but for me, when you come to a place like Rangers to get a result, you need big personalities, you need people to show courage and discipline, and they were amazing, they were amazing.' Captain for the day Clark Robertson led by example and was inches away from netting an opener himself when a first half header crashed off the post. And Pressley added: 'He's a pivotal player for us moving forward. Not only does he take on information, he drives standards within the football club, and I'm really pleased with him, but he was one of, I'll be honest, he was one of 13, 14 today that really applied themselves, so I saw in some players' performances that hadn't seen us yet, and they really stepped up to it today. 'Joe Westley had a terrific debut, you know, his work ethic, his desire to do the ugly part for the team was amazing, and he showed some really good technical qualities, so yeah, really pleased with him today.'

Bokila nets as Lions roar to victory

Much-travelled Jeremy Bokila was the toast of fans at the Home of the Set Fare Arena with a late goal which wrapped up a first William Hill Premiership win of the season for Livingston and confirmed the West Lothian club's recent dominance over their Central Scotland near neighbours. The 36-year-old Congolese striker, who joined the Scots from Dutch club, Willem II, Tilburg, after training with the Livingston squad during their pre-season camp, lashed the ball home, giving Bairns goalkeeper, Scott Bain, no chance. His strike two minutes from time secured the three points and temporarily lifted Livingston into top spot in the 12-strong table, a lofty perch, but this is early in the season and other clubs have yet to play their second games. However, Livingston are on four points after an opening day, 2-2 draw, at Kilmarnock, but nobody in the former New Town is getting carried away as they now face a tough run of fixtures in all competitions with Hibs, Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen and Rangers looming. Earlier, a gusty wind, which some feared would spoil the game, buffeted the Home of the Set Fare Arena before kick-off, but it was the visitors who threatened to blow The Lions away in the first 19 minutes. They were on the front foot early, forcing Livingston goalkeeper Jerome Prior, to save low down after a neat move involving Ethan Ross and Ross MacIver in the opening minutes. Calvin Miller then threatened down the right, but the danger was cleared, however the eager Bairns won second balls and forced the pace. A free-kick, awarded when Graham Carey brought down Bradley Spencer, resulted in Ross threatening with a close-in header. Livingston responded and Lewis Smith won the ball in the right. Robbie Muirhead challenged, but the danger was cleared. At the other end, MacIver saw a header saved by Prior who had to catch a cross before reacting to a Macaulay Tait shot. It was all Falkirk and Livi were struggling to get out of their own territory. The home side's boss, David Martindale, was clearly unhappy, waving his arms in frustration and shouting instructions from the home dugout, and the Livi boss was forced into a change when experienced defender, Danny Wilson, was forced to leave the field after 14 minutes. Shane Blaney replaced him. Another corner for The Bairns was wasted as Livingston continued to struggle to find any rhythm, but the game changed suddenly following a breakaway after 19 minutes. Smith picked up a loose ball, drove forward, fed Muirhead who squared for Scott Pittman who found himself in space on the edge of the six-yard box and he finished clinically as he closes in on the club's all-time scoring record. It was Livingston's first real attack. Falkirk boss John McGlynn was also forced into an early change when Ross went down. Alfredo Agyeman was introduced, but the loss of the goal rocked the Bairns who were roared on by a large travelling support. Livi, however, became dominant and made that count with a second three minutes into injury time. Goalkeeper Prior started the move and it was continued by busy Tait, on loan from Hearts, who found Smith with a diagonal ball to his right. The former Hamilton Academical player cut inside and sent a left foot curler into the top corner. Bain had no chance and it was a superb strike. The home fans were on their feet. It was the same pattern at the start of the second-half when Livi threatened again. Tait had an opportunity to break but the move was blocked, however the ball was recycled to Muirhead who let fly from 25 yards. The ball flew inches over. There was then a VAR check on possible hand ball by Liam Henderson and the referee was eventually called to the monitor before awarding a penalty. Muirhead stepped up and fired for the bottom left hand corner but Falkirk goalkeeper, Scott Bain, guessed correctly and saved low down. Bairns fans celebrated and hoped that would spark a comeback. Livingston, however, continued to press and Smith was again involved, curving a left foot shot just wide, and it was obviously not Falkirk's day as a threatening header inside the box hit one of their own men and was cleared. Then came a breakaway and Tait sped down left wing, swung over a cross which was miskicked by a defender and flew agonisingly for home fans just over the crossbar. However, Falkirk began to get a foothold and first-half substitute Agyeman broke down the right and his cross threatened, but Falkirk failed to capitalise once again. It was a sign that things were turning and that move injected some urgency from the visitors. A VAR check was needed after a foul but it judged to be just outside the box, only by inches. The ball was launched into the box by Calvin Miller and MacIver headed home neatly to give McGlynn's men some hope of salvaging something from the game. A VAR check confirmed the goal after 74 minutes. There was still time. The visitors powered forward and another free-kick flew high into the home box but nobody was there to take advantage and Livingston were undoubtedly on the back foot, battling to preserve their slender advantage. Desperate defending saw the West Lothian combine kicking the ball away on several occasions to eat up time, and the home fans were tense, but all the anxiety was extinguished when Bokila found himself in acres of space on the left. He drove towards goal, probably surprised that he had so much space, and, from angle on the left, slammed home with left foot after a slick pass down the line from substitute Christian Montano had caught most of the Falkirk side up-field. Time 88 minutes. The fourth official signalled eight minutes of stoppage time, but a large percentage of Bairns fans had left the building and it was no surprise when Martindale expressed himself happy with his day at the office. He said: 'I thought it was a professional performance and there were a lot of pleasing aspects.' His opposite number, John McGlynn (pictured by Nigel Duncan), said he thought his men started well, but we lost our way. We have to stick together.' Livingston: Prior, Montgomery (Montano 45, he was booked), McGowan, Pittman, Muirhead (booked) (Bokila 67), Carey (booked) (Sylla 37), Smith (Yengi 67), Winter, Tait, Wilson (Blaney 14), Lawal. Substitutes: Hamilton, Blaney, May, Bokila, Shinnie, Sylla, Montano, Culbert, Yengi Falkirk: Bain, Adams, McCann, Henderson (booked), Spencer (booked), MacIver (Arfield 76), Nesbitt (Graham 45), Neilson, Tait, Ross (Agyeman 26), Miller. Substitutes: Hogarth, Graham, Agyeman, Cartwright, Oliver, Allan, Mackie, Walker, Arfield. Referee: Chris Graham Like this: Like Related

Katie Price and Princess Andre 'feud' deepens: 18th birthday 'blow out' and 'jealousy'

Katie Price's podcast rant about her daughter Princess Andre's blossoming fame and TV show appears to have backfired on the glamour model as she's branded 'attention-seeking' FRESH claims over Katie Price's 'feud' with her daughter Princess can be revealed today. ‌ In a series of blistering revelations, insiders have accused Katie, 47, of: ‌ Missing a planned morning meet-up with Princess Andre on her 18th birthday to party abroad instead Trying to 'insert herself' into Princess's success as her daughter embarks on a fledgling showbiz career Attention-seeking behaviour on the eve of Princess's new ITV show to overshadow the launch. ‌ Katie has made a number of claims in the days before her daughter's reality series, The Princess Diaries, launches on ITV2 at 9pm tonight. It comes after Katie Price reaches out to Harvey's lookalike half-brother but fears 'he's too scared'. The mum-of-five said she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' ‌ The mum-of-five said she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' ‌ She added: 'The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it.' But insiders claimed her version of events was far from the truth. They said the 18-year-old had arranged to see her mum on the morning of her birthday in June in London – but Katie failed to appear. ‌ A source said: 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' ‌ The former Celebrity Big Brother winner was later pictured partying in Ibiza, and then Dubai. She also reportedly accidentally shared a happy birthday Instagram message to Princess – 36 hours before her daughter's big day. Insiders are perplexed by Katie's attempts to 'repeatedly insert herself into her daughter's career'. ‌ The model herself claimed: 'I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoots, signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. I'm not welcome.' But the source said: 'Why is she making this all about her? What sort of person on the eve of her daughter's show, starts throwing all these grenades and believes she knows what's best, and should be given equal billing? 'It's Princess's life, her career.' ‌ A second source added: 'It's so unfair that Princess is going through all this when it is her show and it's about her… 'Pete keeps quiet about the whole situation with Katie and just wants to support his children.' ‌ Some question whether Katie could be jealous of her daughter's success. The source said: 'Princess's career is flourishing. 'It was already predicted before she's going to be the next Kylie Jenner and now she's set to become a millionaire by next year.' ‌ Three-times-married Katie's behaviour has puzzled some of her former partners. One source close to an ex told this newspaper that it was 'ludicrous' for her to have hit out at her former manager at The CAN Group. Katie, who also has son Junior, 20, with Peter, had claimed: 'I've always said over my dead body would I want her managing my kids. She doesn't like me.' ‌ But a source close to an ex claimed: 'When Katie was at the height of her problems, including her drink-drive arrest a few years ago, she approached her former manager for help. She was in such a bad way but her manager was really happy to help... She organised a job but Katie didn't end up doing it. To turn around now and claim she wants nothing to do with her is nonsense. She wasn't saying that at the time.' Friends say Princess, who lives with her 52-year-old dad, step-mum Emily, 35, and their three young children, loves her mum but that it had not always been easy for her growing up. ‌ In her new series the teen influencer lifts the lid on her tumultuous childhood, including how tough it was when Katie split from her third husband, Kieran Hayler, in 2018. She said: 'My mum, being heartbroken, didn't deal with it in the best way. 'She went through a dark time. It was hard for me because I saw things kids don't need to see, and my mum wasn't emotionally able to be there.' Princess read stories at the time about her mum, including her driving bans, divorce and bankruptcy hearings. ‌ She said: 'I would go into school and have people ask me questions about what they had seen in the papers and I would go home and cry.' The teenager's relationship with her mother is much stronger now. 'I'm still not really healed from what has happened but Mum is such a different person and has really fixed herself,' she said, before describing her mum as 'my best friend'. She added: 'She is so unpredictable. She just lives life and doesn't care, and I really look up to that.' The CAN Group said: 'We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families.'
