Former Arsenal star's house burgled while he was playing in his final game before retirement
Former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette 's house was allegedly burgled while he was playing during his final game before retiring.
The player in question was appearing in his 391st and final game for his current club before he hangs up his boots at the end of the current season.
However, his final appearance was said to have been overshadowed by the purported incident, which was claimed to have occurred on Saturday night.
French publication Le Progres reported that his home was broken into by two burglars, who were said to have accessed a safe.
The Items alleged to have been stolen include jewellery, luxury leather goods and cash, in a robbery claimed to be valued at tens of thousands of pounds.
The burglary was reported at 1.30am on Sunday morning, after two individuals were seen in security footage, leading to local police launching an investigation.
Alexandre Lacazette, who spent five years with the Gunners, was appearing for Lyon in their match against Angers in Ligue 1.
It comes after Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca confirmed earlier this week that Lacazette would be departing the club Lyon when his contract runs out this summer.
The Lyon club legend was honoured by fans with an enormous tifo ahead of last night's game.
Lacazette ensured it was a swansong to savour on a personal note as he netted both goals in his side's 2-0 win over Angers.
The goals took Lacazette past 200 goals for Lyon, having come through the club's academy as a youngster.
The alleged burglary is not the first to happen to Lyon players in recent years, with Georges Mikautadze being robbed at gunpoint last December.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren was the victim of an attempted robbery in October 2023.

'It was a big, big role,' Dillon told SEN radio on Friday. 'Decisions affect people but they're not personal. 'It's actually about what's the right thing for the AFL, not just for now, because the AFL's in an incredible position at the moment. ' ... We have now got a structure that actually allows us to continue to be successful for the next three to five years and that was the thinking.' In a separate interview on ABC Radio, Dillon rejected the notion that unconscious gender bias was a factor in Kane's dealings with clubs and subsequent demotion. 'It's not a gender thing,' he said. 'Laura has broken down a lot of barriers. She is an incredibly talented administrator.' Swann, who has been involved in club administration for more than 25 years, will oversee hot issues including the match review system, umpiring and laws of the game. 'I'm leaving to go the AFL to head up footy, I suppose, in the simplest terms,' Swann said when he confirmed his appointment to Lions colleagues. Lions coach Chris Fagan said Swann would be a major boost for the AFL. 'I'm really pleased for Swanny, it will be great for the game,' he said. 'He's one of those composed, calm and experienced people. We're obviously sad to lose him ... but things don't last forever. 'ln this instance, it will be a great win for the AFL. 'He'll help bring another angle to decision making that perhaps hasn't been there in recent times.'

June 2 (Reuters) - Spain's Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal has said the Ballon d'Or award won't be decided by performances on Thursday when he and France's Paris St Germain forward Ousmane Dembele take part in the Nations League Final Four.
