Claudia Winkleman uses chunky shoes and oversized bags to 'feel powerful'
'The Traitors' presenter has revealed she uses large accessories help her feel "a bit more in charge" in her daily life - admitting they give her little "boosts of power" that make her feel more confident.
In a column for The Times newspaper, she wrote: "Sometimes (not often) I like to feel just a little bit powerful. I'm not a total turd, so please don't roll your eyes ...
"What I'm talking about is tiny, incremental, life-affirming boosts of power. When we need to feel strong, a touch 'warrior' and a bit more in charge ... "
Claudia went on to reveal that although she does like a stiletto heel, she's happier in a chunky shoe, adding: "If it's a stable and forceful look we're after, then we're going to need some heft in our heel."
She listed Saint Laurent's Bianca platform shoes - which retail for £815 - as a favourite along with the Hoof boots by Alexander McQueen, which cost just under £2,000.
Claudia also likes to keep her bags oversized, adding: "It goes without saying that your bag has to be big and confident.
"It's saying: 'I've got stuff in here that might save the world/I've been to an extraordinary conference/Does your kid need stickers, an organic olive or pastel hair chalk?'
"We need to feel pretty Mary Poppins if we are going to have swagger. What's in here? Oh, just a few Booker prizewinning novels, a live otter and a lampshade."
Claudia's favourites are The Row's Margaux - which sells for around £5,000 - and Chloe's Camera Bag.
She added of her jewellery choices: "Jewellery-wise, your look has to be equally forthright. It must be heavy (if it weighs less than a meerkat, it's a no from me).
"And it always, always has to be gold. Think the A-Team's BA Baracus rather than dainty, and preferably without diamonds (diamonds are suddenly naff — sorry about that)."
Claudia confessed her favourite Burberry necklace "weighs more than my kitchen" but insisted a chunky gold piece looks great with a white shirt or a black top with a round neck.

During an appearance on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast, he said: "Bond is a big deal right, that going to Amazon ... I heard a rumour they're going to cast someone very young and go sort of back to the origins. "They're going to sort of '60s, you're going to have all the retro cars and that sort of stuff - and start again. I think that would be kind of cool."

Olly Murs opens up about feud with twin brother
Olly Murs says becoming a father has made helped him to 'relate to his mum's sadness' over his estrangement from his twin brother. The 40-year-old singer - who has 16-month old daughter Madison and a new baby on the way with wife Amelia Tank - famously fell out with his twin Ben when he missed his sibling's wedding to compete in 'The X Factor' semi-finals in 2009. And, Olly has admitted that since welcoming Madison last year, he understands more about how his mother, Vicky-Lynn Pollard, must feel about his and Ben's estrangement. He told The Sunday Times Magazine: 'Now I'm a parent I can relate more to my mum's sadness that my twin brother, Ben, and I have been estranged since 2009, though I've got nothing but love and respect for him.' I had to deal with it when my twin and I went on our separate lives. "I was desperate to be around people, could not sit in a room alone. "When I was single for three years, I had to learn to like my own company. That's when I met Amelia." The 'Dear Darlin'' hitmaker hailed his wife as "the love of [his] life" and recalled how he quickly knew how strongly he felt for the bodybuilder. Despite Olly's career success, his main goal for the future is being a "great" family man. He said: "My aim in life is to be a great husband and father - that's where my future lies. The chocolate addiction you don't need to quit this winter
Do I need to kick my wardrobe addiction to chocolate? The only time that I will endorse rich, dark chocolate over delicious, crumbly white chocolate is when it comes to winter dressing. While colour forecaster Pantone named paler 'Mocha Mousse' the colour of 2025, I find its duskier relative far more intriguing. Chocolate lends itself to tonal dressing, with multiple layers creating a satisfying symphony of colour; paler shades can result in a disappointing wall of, well, beige. To avoid off-notes, though, pay close attention to different textures, such as pairing suede with wool and thick cotton. The result is 'warmer' than black and less vulnerable to grime than cream. In the past, brown was revived by designers keen to create a bohemian, '70s mood on the runway, but, thanks to dresses and coats at The Row, Zimmermann, Saint Laurent and Christopher Esber, it has been elevated to luxury status alongside black and navy blues. Lean into the glamour with gold accessories or add further lustre with a glimpse of pearl. In other words, leave the macramé necklaces at home. If a top-to-toe brownout feels too ambitious, maintain the semi-formal feel by introducing some black basics or take the colour to the street by wearing it with denim. Worried about chocolate being too 'this year' and having an in-built expiry date that coincides with fireworks ushering in 2026? Just keep brown and carry on: Pantone has identified 'Hot Chocolate' as one of the standout colours at London Fashion Week's Autumn/Winter 2025/26 collection.
