Rangers' nine-in-a-row championship trophy up for auction in Glasgow
The silverware won by Rangers to seal their nine-in-a-row triumph in 1997 is being auctioned next month.
Auctioneers McTear's is listing the Bell's Whisky trophy as part of its 'Sporting History, Important Trophies, Medals and Jerseys' auction, scheduled to take place on June 19.
McTear's expect the item to sell for between £9,000 and £12,000.
Rangers lifted the trophy at Tannadice on May 7, 1997, after a Brian Laudrup header sealed a 1-0 victory over Dundee United.
That result ensured Walter Smith's side secured a ninth Scottish Premier League title in a row, equalling the feat achieved by Celtic from 1965 to 1974.
The trophy was presented to Rangers captain Richard Gough on the pitch after the match.
McTear's says the item will come with its original box and paperwork from the Scottish Football Museum, confirming the trophy's authenticity.

A spokesperson for McTear's said: 'This is a remarkable piece of Rangers and Scottish football memorabilia that marks one of the most impressive achievements in the Club's history.
'We have auctioned a number of important Old Firm items over the years, and the nine-in-a-row trophy sits alongside the very best and highest profile pieces that have gone under the hammer.
'We have already received a number of enquiries and we expect interest from collectors and fans alike to continue to build as we approach the auction on June 19.'

Rangers on verge of appointing Russell Martin as new head coach
The 39-year-old former Southampton boss will be installed in the Ibrox hotseat in the next 48 hours, barring any last-minute hitches. The appointment of a new man at the helm is the latest in a series of major changes at the club. An American consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises secured a majority shareholding on Friday and new sporting director Kevin Thelwell officially began work on Monday, when he said that the recruitment of a new head coach would come to a conclusion 'in the coming days'. Outgoing Real Madrid assistant manager Davide Ancelotti, son of Carlo Ancelotti, and Martin were the two frontrunners for the post, vacated by Philippe Clement in February, with former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson taking over to the end of the season, which ended trophyless. However, it is the former MK Dons and Swansea boss, who had a short loan spell as a player at Rangers in 2018, who will be tasked with wrestling the power back from the other side of the city where Celtic this season won their 13th William Hill Premiership title in 14 seasons and have a stranglehold on Scottish football. However, many Rangers fans have revealed some dismay at the notion of Martin's arrival. The former Scotland international brought Southampton up to the Premier League through the play-offs in 2024 but was sacked in December as they headed back towards the Championship with one win from their first 16 games. Chris Hughton, Martin's boss at Norwich, offered a glowing character reference, saying on talkSPORT: 'If I'm looking at Russell's managerial background, he is known of course, for playing a certain way, very expansive in the way that he wants to play, very much a passing game and progression through the thirds. 'But he's a strong personality also. He's had a few knockbacks in his football career so far. 'I think any knockbacks, he will look at very much as experience and look to improve in every aspect that he can. I saw him recently, and he was in good form and really looking forward to getting back into the game. 'I think he's had a few offers. But despite reportedly having talks with Bayer Leverkusen lined up, this former Rangers coach has in fact been spotted 6,000 miles away instead. 1 He was Philippe Clement's right-hand man at Ibrox Credit: Getty Andries Ulderink, previously Philippe Clement's No.2 at Ibrox, was most recently the manager Antwerp - until a few days ago. The Dutchman took over as boss in March - less than three months after his Gers exit - but his time in the dugout is over already, having won just two out of his 13 games in charge. Antwerp chiefs decided not to extend his contract beyond this season which led to questions around his next move. According to Voetbal International, Ulderink revealed he was set to travel to Germany for discussions with Bayer Leverkusen about being Erik Ten Hag's new assistant manager. It's claimed the pair know each other well, and the ex-Man Utd and Ajax gaffer - who replaced Xabi Alonso in the hot-seat last week - is keen to work with him in the Bundesliga. But in a bizarre turn of events, Ulderink, 55, looks set to make a swift return to management in South Africa instead. The experienced coach has been spotted taking a training session at one of his former clubs - Cape Town FC - and local reports suggest his appointment will be announced imminently.
