Orlando Pirates get Moloisane update, Mbuthuma red flag
Orlando Pirates have longed for the services of Thabo Moloisane, who was instrumental during Stellenbosch FC's 2024/25 season, helping them secure a successive CAF Confederation Cup spot.
The Masandawana academy product has both of the Soweto giants (Pirates and Chiefs) vying for his services, a move he hasn't ruled out but one he admits will be a hard decision to make given his relationship with the Cape Winelands outfit.
'I think when you have interest in your name, it shows you're doing well and you're playing well, and I'm just happy that my work is finally showing,' he told SABC Sport.
'I've prayed for days when I'm a Bafana Bafana player, and I try by all means to remain as consistent as I can, and at the moment it's just to continue doing what I can, and God is in control, so we'll see.'
'For me, I know the right time, everything that has happened in my career has always come at the right time,' the Orlando Pirates target added.
'So I'm just waiting for that; I understand sometimes football is a short career, but at the same time, I also believe that God will give me the right opportunity that will change my life at the right time. God is in control, we'll see.'
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have reportedly signed former Richards Bay frontman Yanela Mbuthuma to a five year contract, a deal that has not gone down well with ex-Buccaneer Moeneeb Josephs.
'Why are we looking for players from clubs that are not above the top eight [small teams]? No offence to the player that we have signed,' Josephs said on SoccerBeat .
'Look at how many goals he scored last season: he scored six goals in 27 games. However, no offence to him, but how many games did he start? So, that's like one goal every six games, pardon me if my math is off.'
'But my mind is telling me that we should be looking at the big boys [from big clubs]. We should look inside the top eight teams because outside of the top eight, there's nothing.'

But as time passed, there seemed to be no headway with regards to that deal. Now, out of nowhere, it was their arch rivals Pirates who stole a march and announced him swiftly. It now remains to be seen how many years he has signed on for at the Buccaneers. Having signed, an old clip has resurfaced on social media of new Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou talking up Mbule. 'Another player, I love him, his style of play. And I know that maybe his behaviour is not so good, but I think it's a question of management. These players need management, somebody to be close to them. To make them understand that they are good players, but they have to manage their lifestyle, it's Mbule. Watch:'I have always followed Orlando Pirates'-Abdeslam Ouaddou
Orlando Pirates sent the South African football fraternity into a frenzy on Monday with the appointment of Abdeslam Ouaddou. Fresh from resigning at Marumo Gallants, Ouaddou was announced as the new Pirates coach, a move very few saw coming. This was not in doubt of Ouaddou's acumen as a coach, as they were prior links to him and Pirates . In fact, he beat both the Buccaneers and their arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the league last season. He even dragged Gallants to a 10th place finish after finding them in the relegation zone upon his arrival. But the shock in his appointment came in the sense that it was widely expected that Rulani Mokwena would take over. Just 24 hours prior, wide spread reports claimed that Pirates and Mokwena were advancing in their negotiations. Then the Buccaneers went on to drop the Ouaddou bomb! After that a clip of Ouaddou speaking of and singing the praises of Pirates has surfaced. This came after his then side Marumo Gallants lost a Nedbank Cup semifinal 2-0 against his new side. In this clip, he admits to be a long-term admirer of the Buccaneers, before breaking down how he tried to beat them. Watch the clip below . Upon watching the clip, many Pirates fans commented, saying it gave the impression that Ouaddou always knew something. On Monday he was officially unveiled as the new coach, blindsiding many in the process. Earlier on Tuesday this publication reported that he has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Buccaneers.
