1.4L to arrive in city on weekend for CET, attend test in 4 shifts
Gurgaon: Nearly 1.4 lakh candidates from across Haryana are expected to arrive in the city for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C positions, scheduled to be held on July 26 and 27. The large-scale recruitment exam, conducted by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), will see candidates appearing in four shifts across two days. To manage the surge, the Gurgaon district administration has imposed movement restrictions at 145 centres housed within 107 educational institutions. Over 145,000 candidates from Rohtak, Nuh, Sonipat, and Rewari will take the exam in Gurgaon, while 7,800 aspirants from Gurgaon will travel to Faridabad for the test. These will operate from key points across the district, namely Gurgaon Bus Stand, Sohna, Pataudi, Sector 52, Manesar IMT Chowk, and Farrukhnagar, to ferry students to their respective centres. Additionally, shuttle services will run from transit hubs like SGT University, IMT Chowk Manesar, Rajiv Chowk, Tau Devi Lal Stadium, and Leisure Valley Ground in Sector 29. For those travelling from Gurgaon to Faridabad, bus services will be operational from 4am on July 26 until 10pm on July 27. Candidates can reach out to the transport department helplines (0124-2320222, 0124-4912626) for assistance. Deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar said a dedicated control room has been set up at the mini- secretariat to assist candidates with queries or emergencies. The helpline numbers — 0124-2972349, 2972351, 2973347, 2973348, and 2974350 — will remain active till the end of the exam. The CET will be conducted in two shifts each day, from 10am to 11.45am, and 3.15pm to 5pm.
