The holy month of Ramadan is a season of spiritual reflection, harmony, and cherishing the values of compassion. On this occasion, Al Hilal Healthcare Group, the largest private healthcare group in the Kingdom of Bahrain, organized one of the largest Iftars in the Kingdom on March 13, 2025, at the parking lot of Al Hilal recent Branch in Manama Central near Manama bus stop. This year, more than 1,600 people attended the Iftar, reflecting the success of the event and the high level of community participation. The grand Iftar was attended by ambassadors from various diplomatic missions, members of the Royal Parliament, the Board of Directors of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, respected members of the media, employees, and valuable clients.
The event was attended by the Managing Directors of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, Dr. P.A. Mohammed and Mr. Abdul Latheef, along with the Senior Leadership, Management, and Marketing Teams of Al Hilal Healthcare Group. The occasion was also graced by distinguished guests from various fields. The Directors of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, Dr. P.A. Mohamed and Mr. Abdul Latif, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to all the ambassadors and other attendees during this occasion, emphasizing the importance of preserving these customs and traditions that reflect community bonds. After the Iftar, a small Gergauan event was held for the children, which added a touch of happiness and fun. TDT I Manama The Al Hilal Healthcare Group, in partnership with the Philippine Embassy, has launched the 'Healthy Pinoy Campaign 2025,' a monthlong initiative providing free health checkups to the Filipino community across the Kingdom. The campaign, which builds on the success of last year's program, was announced at an event attended by Her Excellency Anne Jalando-on Louis, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Bahrain. She was joined by senior embassy officials, including Consul Bryan Jess T. Baguio and Labor Attaché Orville Ballitoc, as well as Al Hilal Healthcare Group CEO Dr. Sharath Chandran and Vice President Mr. Asif Mohammad. Campaign With the campaign, throughout the month of August, all Filipino nationals in Bahrain can receive free health screenings at any Al Hilal branch. The official campaign will kick off on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Al Hilal Medical Center in Manama. The launch event will feature free blood testing from 7:30 AM, covering key health indicators such as blood sugar, total cholesterol, kidney function (creatinine), liver screening (SGPT), and uric acid. Complimentary doctor consultations will be available to evaluate the results. In conjunction with the health services, the Philippine Embassy will conduct a Consular Outreach, with representatives from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Social Security System (SSS) present to provide support. A special health awareness talk on preventing hypertension and diabetes will also be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Ambassador Louis expressed her gratitude for the partnership, confirming its long-term nature. Health and welfare 'For the Embassy, the health and welfare of our nationals is a top priority,' she stated. 'We want the Filipino community to know that the Healthy Pinoy Campaign will now be held every August in collaboration with Al Hilal Healthcare Group.' Dr. Sharath Chandran, CEO of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, reaffirmed his organization's commitment. 'As a leading healthcare provider in the Kingdom, Al Hilal is committed to supporting the Filipino community through continued access to quality healthcare,' he said. The Imam Hussain (PBUH) Blood Donation Campaign, launched under the slogan 'Blood in Your Name', collected 64 blood bags on its women-only opening day, while the second day for men saw a significantly larger response. Drive Organised by the residents of Al-Naeem and the campaign's Supreme Committee, the drive continues to stand as a symbol of collective humanitarian action during Muharram. Held in partnership with Al Hilal Healthcare Group for the second year, the campaign was hosted at the group's Manama Central branch. Dr. Fadel Al-Nasheet, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health for its ongoing support, particularly under the leadership of the minister, H.E. Dr. Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan. This year, a new digital appointment system was introduced to streamline the donation process. TDT | Manama Appointments now must be booked online A mandatory online registration system has been introduced for this year's Imam Hussain (PBUH) Blood Donation Campaign, marking a digital transformation in one of Bahrain's most enduring grassroots health initiatives. The 27th edition of the campaign, scheduled for the 8th and 9th of Muharram, will take place at the Al Hilal Medical Center in Manama. Organisers have announced that pre-registration on the official campaign website is now required to book a donation appointment, with each participant needing to provide personal details, including a copy of their smart card. Appointment bookings open on Wednesday, the 6th of Muharram. Tech-enabled service Dr Fadel Jassim Al Nasheet, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, said the adoption of online booking as a basic requirement reflects the campaign's evolving scale. 'This year, we are keen to develop the organisational aspects in line with the increasing volume of participation annually, and to contribute to the comfort and safety of donors, especially through the electronic appointment system, which has proven its efficiency,' he said. Held under the slogan 'Blood in Your Name', the campaign is run in partnership with Al Hilal Healthcare Group. While the platform ensures smoother logistics, its mission remains grounded in the spirit of sacrifice and compassion inspired by Imam Hussain (PBUH). Civic tradition Mr Hamid Rahma, Chairman of Al Naeem Charitable Society, described the effort as a reflection of faith-driven altruism. 'We are proud that this campaign is an extension of Imam Hussein's (PBUH) principles of giving without expecting anything in return. It is a national community initiative that represents a pillar in supporting the Central Blood Bank,' he said. The drive's success also rests on its longstanding partnerships with the Ministry of Health and the wider civil society, reinforcing its position as a key contributor to Bahrain's public health ecosystem. Since its inception on 9 Muharram 1421 AH, the initiative has collected a total of 16,526 blood bags, making it one of the Kingdom's largest and most consistent voluntary health campaigns. The committee has urged prospective donors to register early, given the limited number of slots available.
