with 161 points. He holds a commanding lead, with Pascal Wehrlein in second place at 84 points.
Oliver Rowland continues to share adorable pictures of his daughter on Instagram Stories as they explore Japan together. His daughter also accompanied him in the paddock when the Qualifying session was delayed due to rain. Fans were charmed by her cuteness, especially when she asked him to show his car.
Speaking about his strategy after winning the Tokyo race, Rowland said, 'No words! I was not a master of strategy in the first half of the race, I was pretty disappointed in myself. But I figured out that everybody would kind of undercut me so I thought: 'I've got six minutes, I'll undercut them' and in the end it worked. I knew they would all react. I just had to make the progress on the first lap so it paid off today, but I was a bit lucky.'
Sharing his plan for the road ahead, he added, 'I've always said that in Tokyo and Shanghai I need to keep pushing to extend the Championship lead. Going into Shanghai I'll have the same approach this year and then maybe after that we can start to think about the lead we've got.'

‘His decision was not born of diminished skill': Greg Chappell says Virat Kohli announced retirement due to loss of mental clarity

Former Australia player Greg Chappell said that Virat Kohli has taken the decision to retire from Tests was not because he was out of form but due to the toll the game has taken on him mentally. Chappell added that Kohli hung up his boots due to the loss of mental clarity required to perform at the highest level. 'His decision was not born of diminished skill, but from the growing realisation that he could no longer summon the mental clarity that had once made him so formidable. He accepted that, at the highest level, unless the mind is sharp and decisive, the body falters,' Chappell wrote in his column for ESPNCricinfo. 'When doubt begins to settle in the bones, it disrupts decision-making, impairs footwork, and erodes the spontaneity essential to elite performance. Kohli's retirement is a reminder that form is more a function of the mind than it is of mechanics,' Chapell added further. Last month, Kohli announced his Test retirement ahead of the national side's scheduled five-match tour to England in June. 'It's been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined the journey this format would take me on. It's tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I'll carry for life,' Kohli wrote on his Instagram handle. Kohli ended the posted with '#269, signing off'. The 36-year-old Kohli brought down the curtains on a prolific red-ball career, spanning 14 years and 123 Tests. The Delhi batter made his Test debut against the West Indies on June 20, 2011, in Kingston. Kohli had since gone on to become India's most successful batter in the previous decade between 2010 and 2019. Kohli was the third-highest Test run-getter in the period, piling on 7202 runs at 54.97 average and 27 centuries, the most by any batter in the time. With 9230 runs in 210 innings, Kohli stands fourth on the all-time charts among Indian batters, only behind the legendary trio of Sachin Tendulkar (15,921), Rahul Dravid (13,265), and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122) with 9230 runs at a 46.85 average.

"Get Ready For Changing Diapers": Virat Kohli's Message To RCB Teammate After IPL 2025 Final Win

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt were Royal Challengers Bengaluru's top two scorers in the IPL 2025 with a tally of 657 and 403 respectively. The opening duo was responsible for RCB's high scores. While Kohli ended up with eight half-centuries, Salt scored four. They played crucial roles in RCB winning the IPL 2025. Ahead of the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings, there were doubts over the availability of Saly for the final as he went back to England to attend the birth of his child. He, however, returned in time. After the final, Kohli had a special post for Salt, which he shared on his Instagram story. Opener Phil Salt will miss England's upcoming three-match T20I series against the West Indies after being granted paternity leave, said the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday. The ECB in its statement said wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith is now Salt's replacement in the squad. 'Salt, who is taking time away on paternity leave following the birth of his child earlier this week, will now spend time at home,' further said the ECB. Salt had gone back home for the birth of his child after playing a match-winning knock of 56 not out off 27 balls in Royal Challengers Bengaluru beating Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025 in New Chandigarh. He then reached Ahmedabad at 3am on Tuesday morning ahead of the title clash against Punjab Kings, which RCB won by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium to win their maiden IPL trophy. Though Salt made only 16 runs in the final, his relay catch to dismiss Priyansh Arya set the tone for RCB to end their 18-year long wait of achieving championship glory. Salt has been one of the standout performers for RCB winning the IPL 2025 season by scoring 403 runs in 13 matches at an average of 33.58 and a strike rate of 175.98. He also hit four half-centuries while smashing 48 fours and 22 sixes. Salt was previously a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders team winning IPL 2024. England's T20I series against the West Indies gets underway at the Riverside Ground in Durham on Friday evening, with further matches to be held in Bristol and Southampton on June 8 and 10 respectively.

Shubman Gill shows first sign of bold captaincy in addressing Kohli, Rohit's Test exit: 'No different pressure'

While the world will still have to wait for another fortnight to get a true glimpse of Shubman Gill's captaincy in Test cricket, with the India star set to become the youngest leader of the team in this century, come the Test series against England, the 25-year-old gave the first sign of his bold leadership when he addressed the sudden retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma before the tour. Less than a month before the Indian team's departure for the tour of England, Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket via Instagram. Just five days later, Kohli did the same. The back-to-back announcements left an air of uncertainty around the strength of the Indian team, especially before the crucial series against England. However, Gill boldly dismissed questions about any pressure on the young Indian team in the absence of the two stalwarts, saying it was just like any tough situation they had faced before. "Pressure is always there in every tour. Definitely, two very experienced players who played for such a long time and won so many times, very difficult to fill their space. But it is not a different kind of pressure, all of us players are used to it," he said in the pre-tour presser on Wednesday. India will have experienced players in KL Rahul, returning Karun Nair, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and of course, Jasprit Bumrah. Gill also opened up about the kind of captain he wanted to be, saying that he wanted to make players feel secure during his tenure through communication. "No particular style that I want to follow. I like communication with the players, making them feel secure. Making a bond with the players is very important for me as a captain. It is only when players are secure that they will give you their 100 percent," he said. The England series will begin on June 20 at the Headingley.
