Lil Wayne at centre of growing fears for health after postponing gig due to illness
The 42-year-old rapper's scheduled venue, Budweiser Stage, announced he would not be appearing in a statement issued on X.
It said: 'Due to unforeseen illness, Wayne's Toronto show tonight will be postponed.
'As his fans know, he loves putting on nothing short of the best performances for those who come out, and he was so excited for this one.'
The announcement referred to a gig on Monday, 11 August, but is only now coming to light due to concerns about Wayne's health by fans.
Wayne, whose legal name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., had been scheduled to perform at Toronto's Budweiser Stage but will now reschedule.
The statement continued: 'Please stay tuned for the new date coming soon. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new date once announced.'
No further details have been provided regarding the nature of his illness and neither Wayne or his representatives have publicly commented on his condition despite fans getting increasingly worried about the performer.
Wayne is currently on the Tha Carter VI tour, which launched on 1 August in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is set to continue through multiple cities including Detroit, Los Angeles, and Dallas before concluding on 2 October at West Palm Beach, Florida's iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre.
Special guests on select dates include French Montana, Tyga, and NoCap, while Belly Gang Kushington will appear at all performances.
In a separate controversy, Wayne's on-off girlfriend Denise Bidot, 39, publicly accused him of physical abuse and criticised him for ending their relationship via text on Mother's Day.
In posts on her Instagram Stories, Denise said: 'Breaking up with someone on Mother's Day is diabolical. Prayers up though. God always pulls me through. Walking with faith.'
She added: 'Wayne literally kicked me and my daughter out on Mother's Day today. I am just recovering from surgery. I am five weeks out from a whole mommy makeover. I can't even lift boxes.
'But this man has his assistants coming to help kick us out today... and (he) broke up with me on Mother's Day through text. And (my daughter's) birthday's next weekend.'
She also wrote she was 'unsure how to even process my emotions' and asked followers for legal advice – noting: 'I know he has two girls being flown in today, and who knows how many plethora of girls he has. I've been nothing but supportive to this man, loved him till the end of the f****** world.'
At the time of her claims, representatives for Wayne did not respond to requests for comment.

Sharon Stone's rare red carpet appearance with all three of her sons
Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Kids. Followed categories will be added to My News. Sharon Stone is a proud boy mum. The actress, 67, was joined by her three sons, Roan, 25, Laird, 20, and Quinn, 19, for a rare red carpet appearance at Monday's premiere of her new film, Nobody 2, in Los Angeles. Stone wore a navy dress, glasses and a gold bangle bracelet as she posed for pictures with her boys, who all wore suits. Roan had on a pink suit, Laird opted for a grey suit, and Quinn went with a navy pinstripe suit. Along with her kids, Stone took photos with her co-stars Bob Odenkirk and Christopher Lloyd. Stone was a proud mum on the red carpet of her latest film. Picture: Valerie Macon/AFP The action thriller, also starring Connie Nielson, RZA, Colin Hanks, Michael Ironside and John Ortiz, is a sequel to 2021's Nobody, which follows a family man (Odenkirk) who returns to his former life as an assassin. Stone adopted her oldest son with her ex-husband, Phil Bronstein, in 2000. After the pair divorced in 2004, she adopted Laird in 2005 and Quinn in 2006. The Oscar nominee and Bronstein initially shared custody of Roan, but Roan ended up primarily living with his dad in San Francisco during the school year. Stone tried, and failed, to challenge the agreement. 'It broke my heart,' she said on the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast in 2023 about losing custody of Roan. 'I ended up in the Mayo Clinic with extra heartbeats in the upper and lower chambers of my heart.' She has previously spoken about her heartbreak over the custody battle with her ex. Picture:Stone alleged that her role in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct affected her custody of Roan. 'When the judge asked my child – my tiny little boy, 'Do you know your mother makes sex movies?' This kind of abuse by the system, that it was considered what kind of parent I was because I made that movie,' she said. 'People are walking around with no clothes on at all on regular TV now and you saw maybe like a sixteenth of a second of possible nudity of me – and I lost custody of my child,' Stone added. Stone, who has been a single mum since her divorce, has maintained a close bond with her boys. In May, Stone shared a throwback photo of her sons swimming in the pool to celebrate Mother's Day. 'They boys, now young men, have made my Mother's Day EVERYTHING,' she wrote. Nobody 2 is in cinemas this Thursday. Bella Thorne recalls being 'obsessed' with Lil Wayne
Bella Thorne was "obsessed" with Lil Wayne during her school years. The 27-year-old actress fell in love with hip-hop music while she was starring in Shake It Up, the Disney sitcom that also featured Zendaya, and Bella even wrote a school essay about her admiration for Lil Wayne. Asked to recall the first single she ever downloaded, Bella told the Observer newspaper: "I was in Shake It Up when I started falling in love with hip-hop. I went on a binge and discovered BedRock by Young Money. I was so obsessed that I ended up writing an essay about why I admire Lil Wayne for school." Bella also revealed that she knows every word of 6 Foot 7 Foot, Wayne's 2010 single. She shared: "I became obsessed with 6 Foot 7 Foot by Lil Wayne featuring Cory Gunz because of the music video. The incredible visuals made it easy to memorise the lyrics, even though he's an incredibly fast rapper." Meanwhile, Bella previously claimed that all child stars should have access to a therapist. The actress has been through lots of ups and downs during her time in the spotlight, and Bella thinks other child stars would also benefit from seeing a therapist. She told People: "There should be real therapy mandated for children growing up and becoming famous overnight. "I think Chappell Roan just spoke about this too — how you'd be crazy not to go crazy because it's just too much at points in your life. "If the correct guardrails aren't in place — and even when they are in place — things can still go wrong." Bella wishes that she had access to a therapist during her younger years, but she feels it was "still taboo" at the time. The former Disney star said: "I definitely wouldn't give my younger self advice except, 'Go talk to somebody.' But when I grew up, therapy wasn't really ... That was still taboo. And even now, it's still quite taboo, where you're like, 'Guys, what world are we living in?' I think we all need therapy."
