Birkin style isn't just for women — now, swanky guys are grabbing the pricey haute bag

Whether chillin' or workin', Jacob Godfrey's got his Birkin.
Much like the Hollywood hunks and A-list athletes who elevate their swag with the Hermès handbag, he's leading the charge in the 'Man Birkin' movement — a fashion-forward fad for the fellas.
'It complements my outfits, and it's really practical,' Godfrey, 33, of Fort Greene, told The Post, gushing over the $12,000, black box leather number he shares with wife, Sarah, 32, on days his looks need a splash of luxe.

'I dress more traditionally masculine,' said the digital marketing executive, 'and I carry a very beautiful bag.'
It's hard-to-get garniture that's no stranger to the spotlight — especially since the original Birkin sold for a historic $8 million at auction earlier this month.

Female fashionistas have fawned over the finery for decades, partly due to its show-stopping cameo on 'Sex and the City' in the early 2000s, crystallized by the echoing line 'It's not a bag, it's a Birkin.'
Diehard divas have even jet-setted overseas to snag the must-have directly from the Hermès flagship in France — which can cost an eye-watering $500,000.

But now, the haute commodity is ascending as the accessory of the gods as macho men, from Gotham to Los Angeles and beyond, are toting the totes with neither shame nor fear of folks questioning their masculinity.

It's a sign of the times, says NYC stylist Turner Allen.
'Men have been embracing designer handbags over the past few years, partly for practical purposes, but mostly because they look really cool,' the pro, citing VIP bag boys like Jacob Elordi and Harry Styles, told The Post.
'They hold your s–t,' Allen added of the voguish sacks. 'You can put your wallet, car keys, water bottle in a Birkin and not your pants pockets.

'Pairing the bag with some vintage denim jeans, a T-shirt an oversized blazer offers a nice combination of smart-casual and formality.'

Allen, the mastermind behind Style Turner, a premium men's styling consultancy, hailed the classy carryall for its subtle, yet unmistakable, panache.
He attributes its popularity amongst the gents, in part, to its understated chicness.
'Men are interested in signaling who they are and what they've accomplished through fashion,' the expert noted. 'What's more prestigious, expensive and rarified than a Birkin?'
And he's right on the money.
Musicians, such as Rihanna's beau, A$AP Rocky, known for unabashed rocking his black Hermès Kelly, and Travis Scott, a huge lover of the Haut à Courroies (HAC) bag, bring their Birkins out to play on any given day.
Grammy-nominated emcee Gunna was even gifted the coveted accoutrement for his 32nd birthday this summer.

Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather recently dropped a reported $80,000 in 10 minutes on four bags — three 35-centimeter Birkins, one in yellow, two in different shades of green, and a 30-centimeter prize piece in black — as additions to his already impressive Hermès collection.

Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers, as well as Cardi B's New England Patriots-playing hun, Stefon Diggs, proudly sport their look-at-me masterpieces at major sporting events.
NBA ballers like Karl-Anthony Towns and Kyle Kuzma have been known to follow swank suit.

Steve Harvey, of 'Family Feud' fame, turned heads last month, finishing his outfit with a black Crocodile HAC Haut à Courroies — said to retail for approximately $100,000 — during Men's Fashion Week in Paris.
And Gay Paree is where Godfrey and Sarah nabbed their bag, a Birkin Sellier 30.
It was a celebratory purchase the newlyweds made while touring The City of Lights on their mini-honeymoon last fall.

15 Millennials Jacob and Sarah Godfrey bought the Birkin as a toast to their recent nuptials. As fashion enthusiasts, the couple regularly shares clothes, add-ons and outerwear.
Stefano Giovannini
15 Unlike other Birkin buffs, who keep their pricey purses under glass, they take their precious carryall everywhere, including on the subway.
Stefano Giovannini
And while Sarah's always dreamed of having a Birkin of her very own, she says splitting custody of the purse with her hubby, who takes it everywhere — from the subway to the park to after-work drinks with the guys — makes owning one a sweet experience.
'The Birkin is an item that a lot of people just sit on the shelf and look at,' she told The Post. 'But I want ours to be used and worn as much as possible, and I love seeing Jacob take part in that.'
Sarah, a fine-art specialist, is grateful that the once-distinct lines of gender norms in fashion are now blurred.
'We're losing the bifurcation of dressing,' she said. 'So, it seems natural that the men are now coming into our closet to grab the great things, like a Birkin, in the same way I borrow his ties, cufflinks, coats and jackets.
'It's only fair that the sharing goes both ways.'
15 Sarah tells The Post she's happy to share the timeless toggery with her honey.
Stefano Giovannini
15 Godfrey is often showered with praise for his unashamed, exquisite taste in accessories.
Stefano Giovannini
And Godfrey appreciates the freedom to grab the bag whenever.
'I get nothing but compliments, online and in-person, anytime I wear the Birkin,' he said. 'New York City is the epicenter of culture, style and ingenuity.
'And I'm glad that I can fully express myself through my style.'

Coldplay Is In Its Viral Era

Coldplay's 'Sparks' and 'Yellow' reenter Billboard's Rock Streaming Songs chart, with both cuts ... More gaining ground as all things connected to the band enjoy viral moments. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 06: Chris Martin of Coldplay performs on a stop of the band's Music of the Spheres world tour at Allegiant Stadium on June 06, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by) Getty Images The past several weeks have been huge for Coldplay on the charts in a number of nations, including the United States and the United Kingdom. The group has a lot going on at the moment, as its seemingly never-ending Music of the Spheres World Tour continues, and it pushed past $1 billion in grosses last year. The pop-rock outfit has also enjoyed quite a bit of virality lately, as a decades-old tune picked up new fans on TikTok. That surge translated into success on several important rankings, and an embarrassing moment on the kiss cam at a recent show has kept the band's name in headlines. All of the attention being paid to Coldplay has led to an uptick in plays on streaming platforms. This week in America, that surge can be clearly seen on one of Billboard's streaming tallies. Coldplay appears twice on the Rock Streaming Songs chart, Billboard's ranking that details the most successful individual tracks on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and others in the U.S. Both tunes reappear after recently falling off the list. 'Sparks' is the higher-rising of the two, as it reenters at No. 19, just one space below its all-time high point. Another classic from the band, 'Yellow,' narrowly manages to break back in at No. 25. While 'Sparks' and 'Yellow' are two of Coldplay's oldest cuts, they are still relatively new to the Rock Streaming Songs chart — at least when looking at the number of weeks they've spent on the list. 'Sparks' debuted only recently, and has now lived on the tally for about a month. 'Yellow,' meanwhile, is up to 14 stays on the roster. 'Sparks' Hits a New Peak on the Alternative Streaming Chart As 'Sparks' returns to the Rock Streaming Songs chart, the track climbs again on a similar ranking, the Alternative Streaming Songs list. The Coldplay cut jumps from No. 17 to No. 12, reaching a never-before-seen peak. The same tune returns to its all-time high of No. 10 on the Hot Rock Songs ranking, thanks largely to its continued success on streaming platforms. 'Yellow' also climbs on the Alternative Streaming Songs chart, pushing from No. 24 to No. 18.

Livvy Dunne back on apartment hunt in NYC after Babe Ruth controversy

Olivia 'Livvy' Dunne is determined to find her dream apartment in New York City. The retired NCAA gymnast, who was denied by a co-op board from attempting to purchase Babe Ruth's former Upper West Side apartment, was scouting real estate, as seen Sunday in a video on her TikTok. 'What the nyc realtor's hear when I'm back in nyc looking for an apartment,' Dunne, 22, wrote, including a clip of her skipping on the sidewalk. 'It isn't Babe Ruth's apartment but it'll do,' added the former LSU champion gymnast. Dunne, a native of New Jersey and the girlfriend of Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, didn't elaborate about her apartment search. 5 Olivia Dunne revealed she's apartment hunting after the drama over Babe Ruth's former apartment in New York City. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model made waves after she struck out in her bid to buy Ruth's former New York City home — a seventh-floor, three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom pre-war residence at 345 W. 88th St. The co-op board in the Upper West Side building rejected Dunne's purchase — a $1.59 million, all-cash deal — days before she was set to pick up the keys, she said in a TikTok video. 5 Babe Ruth's former apartment on the Upper West Side in New York City. Robert Miller 'I get a call. The co-op board denied me,' Dunne told her eight million followers in a video titled, 'I'm just disappointed that's all.' 'Pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine. It got to the point where the realtor was so confident, Paul and I went, I got an interior designer because I didn't want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth's apartment, that would be like, criminal.' 5 Paul Skenes and girlfriend Olivia 'Livvy' Dunne, before the 2025 MLB All-Star game at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Mike Zarrilli/UPI/Shutterstock Dunne explained that she had 'no clue' why she was rejected to purchase the apartment, which she said would've been her first real estate purchase. However, The Post learned from one resident in the West 88th Street building that Dunne's online presence was too much for the board. 5 Olivia Dunne teased that she got an apartment in New York City on social media before she was denied Babe Ruth's former apartment on the Upper West Side. livvy/Tiktok The seller's agent from Compass told The Post their team was 'all shocked and displeased' by the board's rejection, and tried unsuccessfully to get them to reconsider. 'The managing agent got back to me days later and said the board decision was final and that was it,' the seller's agent said. 'The seller's real estate attorney liquidated (Dunne's) deposit and that was it and we're back on the market.' The board doesn't have to disclose why they turned Dunne down, the agent noted.

Man Tries To Relax on Lake Float—but He Has Two Golden Retrievers

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. With golden retrievers, relaxation can be an elusive thing. That didn't stop one man online from trying, though. His afternoon enjoying a peaceful float on a lake was hilariously interrupted by his two devoted goldens, whose unwavering loyalty—and perhaps a touch of "fear of missing out"—prompted an impromptu "rescue" mission. The adorable scene, captured in a viral TikTok video, has gone viral with over 2.7 million views. "'Spotted: Dad alone. On float. Without us. He looks like he needs us. Does he even have snacks? We must go rescue,'" the creator captioned the video, imagining the dogs' inner dialogue. "'Emotional support en route. Target acquired … Backup has arrived … no man left behind. No raft left afloat.'" One by one, the dogs plunged into the water, swimming toward their owner. The first golden retriever reached the inflatable and clambered aboard with a splash, followed shortly by its equally determined sibling. The result? A deflating inflatable and a man now submerged under the weight of two very loving, but heavy, golden retrievers. The creator's page says the goldens, named Whaler and Flapjack, adore swimming. "If there's water, we're in it," the profile reads. Internet viewers quickly fell in love with the dogs' earnest, if misguided, heroism in the video. TikTok users flooded the comments with laughter and relatable stories. "'Dad looks like he's resting peacefully! Must change that!'" one commenter added. "Lovely," another wrote. "How could anyone beat the love these guys have for their human?" Stock image: A tan-colored dog swims in a lake. Stock image: A tan-colored dog swims in a lake. Nataba/Getty Images Many viewers found humor in the dogs' single-minded focus on their owner—even at the expense of his relaxation: "Dad probably been out there since morning coffee trying to get some … peaceful sunlight," one person posted. The canines' approach to the "rescue" was also a source of amusement. "The funniest part was the first mud trail. Golden one has a visual on the target and has engaged. Golden two sweeping in for clean-up," a commenter said. Some viewers offered practical advice, suggesting ways to ensure the dogs' safety during their water adventures. "You should get them life jackets," one wrote. "I had one and it made my parents feel so much better and I got to swim for longer!" These golden retrievers, known for their friendly and loyal nature, seem to fully embody the spirit of "no man left behind"—even if it means sacrificing their human's peaceful float. Newsweek reached out to @ for comment via TikTok.
