Reba McEntire Reaches A New Career Peak With Her Superstar Collaboration

In addition to hosting the 2025 American Country Music Awards, Reba McEntire also took to the main stage to perform. She joined fellow genre favorites Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson for a brand new collaboration, "Trailblazer."
Released just hours before their joint performance on the program, "Trailblazer" debuts as a bestselling title and hits the Billboard charts this week. The success brings all three women back ot several tallies, and it pushes the most iconic member of the trio to a never-before-seen high point.
"Trailblazer" reaches a trio of Billboard rankings this frame thanks largely to an impressive opening sales count. Luminate reports the collaboration sold just under 3,200 copies in its first, shortened tracking period. That frame didn't quite run a full seven days, as the track dropped on Sunday just before the awards — rather than on Friday, as is usually the case.
Despite that disadvantage, the tune still manages to enter the top 10 on a pair of purchase-only rankings.
"Trailblazer" kicks off its time at No. 4 on the Digital Song Sales chart. It now stands as the highest-rising hit for both McEntire and Wilson on Billboard's ranking of the bestselling tracks on platforms like iTunes and Amazon throughout the U.S.
Before this week, McEntire had previously climbed as high as No. 5 when she joined Thomas Rhett, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin, and Keith Urban on the inspirational "Be a Light," which reached that position in April 2020.
Wilson, meanwhile, has reached No. 4 in the past — multiple times, in fact — but never climbed higher, as "Trailblazer" matches her all-time best showing. She sent both "Wait in the Truck" with Hardy and "Heart Like a Truck" to fourth place on the Digital Song Sales chart, with the tracks debuting just weeks apart in 2022.
Lambert, however, has soared higher with only one track. "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)" with Elle King missed out on becoming a No. 1 by just one space in 2021.
Both Lambert and Wilson collect their fifth top 10s on the Digital Song Sales chart this week. McEntire, despite her lengthy and storied career, has now sent only a trio of tunes into the loftiest space on this list.
"Trailblazer" almost becomes a No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, but misses the summit by just a single space. Instead, it launches at No. 2 behind "Superman" by Morgan Wallen, which starts in first place. The same cut also reaches No. 44 on the Hot Country Songs tally, and could rise in the coming weeks.

Wicked star Cynthia Erivo has some thoughts about the MAGA outrage—fueled by Elon Musk—over her casting as Christ in the Hollywood Bowl's production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Critics with similar complaints flooded Variety's social media post announcing the casting with one user in the replies called Erivo playing Christ 'anti-Christian bigotry' by 'Hollywood.' But Erivo told Billboard, 'Why not?' as she shrugged off naysayers. 'The more yourself you are, the more you are in front of people who don't necessarily understand, the better understanding starts to happen,' she said. As much as she wants to be 'a person you can get positive things from' since 'that is the only way you can balance this stuff,' she couldn't help getting in a jab at Donald Trump for his takeover of the Kennedy Center, where Erivo played some of the most iconic performances of her career. 'I don't know who gains what from that. I hope that it comes back,' she said. 'It's really sad to have to watch this happen to it. The Kennedy Center is supposed to be a space of creativity and art and music for everyone.' That said, assimilating to appease Trump and his 'anti-woke' mob isn't on the star's to-do list, she added. 'I want to encourage people to not decide to just tuck away and start hiding and not being themselves anymore,' she said, 'because that is exactly what they want.'

Gabriel ‘Fluffy' Iglesias is set to return to the stage at the Peoria Civic Center
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Peoria Civic Center has announced that comedian Gabriel Iglesias is coming back to Peoria in October. Iglesias, who is also known by the nickname 'Fluffy,' has added Peoria for one of the stops on his most recent tour, The 1976 Tour: A Fluffy Celebration on Oct. 18, the civic center said in a Facebook post. Iglesias is one of the world's most successful stand-up comedians and one of the highest-grossing touring comedians of all time. He is one of the most watched comedians on YouTube, with over 2 billion views and over 34.6 million fans across social media. He was the 3rd highest-grossing comedian of 2024 according to Billboard,' Kelsy Martin, a civic center spokeswoman, said. He has also been named the Hollywood Reporter's 'Top 40 Comedy Players,' joining the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Lorne Michaels, she said. Iglesias stars in the Netflix series Mr. Iglesias, where he is a high school teacher and has released four stand-up specials with the streaming platform, she said. 'We're thrilled to welcome Gabriel Iglesias back to the Peoria Civic Center. Comedy continues to be a very strong portion of our event calendar thanks to talent like Mr. Iglesias,' Martin said. 'He's one of many comedians who we've seen sell out shows in our Theater and are now continuing to have fantastic turnouts in our Arena as well. These success shows continue to put Peoria on the map and make Peoria Civic Center a must-play tour stop.' To put a topper on all he has accomplished, on March 11, 2025, he received his own handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theater, which recognized his impressive career, she said.
