Seven from Gujarat arrested for using fake Schengen visa
The police said that their trip was planned by a Gujarat-based agent who was helping them enter Luxembourg as tourists and then settle there by securing jobs.
According to the police, on Friday night, immigration officer Vishnu Sawant at Mumbai Airport was inspecting the arrival Visas when he noted seven individuals had been deported from Dubai with visas flagged by Dubai's immigration.
Investigations revealed that their Schengen Employment Visas for Luxembourg were counterfeit. The police said that when the visas were examined under ultraviolet light, they revealed discrepancies in the fonts, missing security features, and faded colours on the visa paper. Upon interrogation, the seven said that their agent had given them visas and promised them they would be able to settle down and find jobs in any of the 29 Schengen countries without further permissions.
After confirming the fraud, immigration officials handed the men over to the Sahar Police Station for further action.

Shikohpur land deal case: ED files charge sheet against Vadra, others
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has filed a charge sheet against Robert Vadra, the businessman husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in a money laundering case linked to a land deal in Haryana's Shikohpur, official sources said on Thursday. This is the first time that any probe agency has filed a prosecution complaint against 56-year-old Vadra in a criminal case. Sources said the charge sheet has been filed against Vadra and some others before a local court here under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He was questioned by the federal investigative agency for three consecutive days in April. The probe against Vadra is linked to the land deal in Haryana's Manesar-Shikohpur (now sector 83) in Gurugram. The deal of February 2008 was done by a company named Skylight Hospitality Pvt Ltd, where Vadra was a director earlier, as it purchased a 3.5 acre of land in Shikohpur from Onkareshwar Properties at a price of Rs 7.5 crore. A Congress government led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda was in power at that time. Four years later, in September 2012, the company sold the land to realty major DLF for Rs 58 crore. The land deal got embroiled in controversy in October 2012 after IAS officer Ashok Khemka, then posted as the director general of Land Consolidation and Land Records-cum-Inspector-General of Registration of Haryana, cancelled the mutation of this categorising the transaction as violative of state consolidation act and some related procedures. Vadra has always denied wrongdoing and has said the case was a "political vendetta" against him and his family that comprises former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. The ED is investigating Vadra in two other cases including one against UK-based arms consultant Sanjay Bhandari and a land deal in Rajasthan's Bikaner.

‘Enforcing Trump's call for justice': Read full statement as US designates LeT proxy TRF as terrorist organisation
The United States designated The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as a foreign terrorist organisation. The TRF had claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22 that had killed 26 people. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a detailed statement in this regard on July 17. Read full statement here: "Today, the Department of State is adding The Resistance Front (TRF) as a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). TRF, a Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) front and proxy, claimed responsibility for the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack which killed 26 civilians. This was the deadliest attack on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks conducted by LeT. TRF has also claimed responsibility for several attacks against Indian security forces, including most recently in 2024. These actions taken by the Department of State demonstrates the Trump Administration's commitment to protecting our national security interests, countering terrorism, and enforcing President Trump's call for justice for the Pahalgam attack. TRF and other associated aliases have been added to LeT's designation as a FTO and SDGT pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Executive Order 13224, respectively. The Department of State has also reviewed and maintained the FTO designation of LeT. Amendments to FTO designations go into effect upon publication in the Federal Register." The Resistance Front, also known as Kashmir Resistance, initially took responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack before denying it days later, Reuters reported. Twenty-six people were killed in the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. India's National Investigation Agency has identified TRF head Sheikh Sajjad Gul as the mastermind of the attack, news agency PTI reported. TRF is said to be an offshoot of Pakistan based-Lashkar-e-Taiba. Rubio called TRF, which emerged in 2019, a "front and proxy" for Lashkar-e-Taiba. Lashkar-e-Taiba, listed as a "foreign terrorist organization" by the United States, is an Islamist group accused of plotting attacks in India and in the West, including the three-day deadly assault on Mumbai in November 2008.
