Sudbury teen died of carbon monoxide poisoning
Officials have released the cause of death of a Sudbury teen who died while on the job at a residence in Lively in May.
Roch (Rocco) Renaud, 19, died of 'acute carbon monoxide intoxication (carbon monoxide poisoning),' Ontario Provincial Police said this week.
Renaud was found at the residence around 8 p.m. May 23 and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
OPP took over the case
The post-mortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
The OPP assumed responsibility for the investigation on June 18 at the request of the Greater Sudbury Police Service.
Sudbury police asked the OPP to take over the case after questions emerged about the conduct of two off-duty officers the day Renaud died.
A chief's complaint has been initiated by Chief Sara Cunningham about the conduct of the off-duty police officers. Both officers have been suspended with pay while their conduct is being investigated.
The OPP was asked to take over the case because 'it was determined that there is an institutional conflict of interest,' Sudbury police said in June.
'The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of the OPP criminal investigation branch,' the OPP said.

Man arrested after assaulting intruder inside his Lindsay home: police
Yellow police tape cordons off an area under investigation. A man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted an intruder inside his Lindsay home early Monday morning, police say. The incident happened at an apartment on Kent Street shortly after 3 a.m. Police say that the suspect was asleep when he awoke to find an intruder inside his apartment. Investigators say an altercation ensued and the intruder sustained serious life-threatening injuries as a result. Police say that the resident, a 44-year-old Lindsay man, was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon following an investigation. The intruder, a 41-year-old Lindsay man, was charged with four offences, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and break-and-enter. Police say that the intruder was already wanted at the time of his arrest for unrelated offences. 'When released from hospital he will be held in custody pending a bail hearing,' a news release issued by the Kawartha Lakes Police Service states.
