
Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by driver in Vaughan
A pedestrian has serious injuries after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in Vaughan on Sunday evening.
York Regional Police say the collision happened around 6:30 p.m. at Highway 7 and Kipling Avenue.
They said a pedestrian was sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle turning right off of Kipling onto Highway 7.
Driver remained on scene, they said.
Roads in the area were closed for several hours as police investigated.

An RCMP vehicle is seen in this file photo. (CTV News Regina) Police in Nova Scotia's Colchester County are investigating a multi-vehicle collision that happened on Highway 102 Tuesday afternoon. Police, fire services and EHS responded to a report of a collision involving four vehicles at Exit 13A near Millbrook around 12:45 p.m. 'Responding officers learned that three northbound vehicles were stopped due to road construction and were struck from behind by a fourth vehicle, a white Kia Forte,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. Police say the driver and passenger of the Kia Forte were taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and a passenger of a grey Chevrolet Cruze were both taken to hospital – the driver by LifeFlight and the passenger by ambulance. According to police, the occupants of the other vehicles did not report injuries at the scene. An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing. Police ask any witnesses who have yet to be in contact with police or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision, construction zone, or the area around it before the collision occurred, to contact investigators at 902-893-6820 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Collision on Dartmouth's Main Street sends multiple to hospital
Halifax Regional Police says emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Main Street and Ridgecrest Drive just after 4 p.m. Thursday. A busy Dartmouth, N.S., roadway was closed for a portion of Thursday's rush hour commute following a collision. Halifax Regional Police says emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Main Street and Ridgecrest Drive just after 4 p.m. All occupants in both vehicles suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, however police did not confirm the number of people involved in the crash. Police say traffic was blocked for about two hours on Main Street between Brigadoon Avenue and Ridgecrest Drive as officers investigated what happened. Police say the victim sought medical treatment for non-life-threating injuries. Investigators are aware that many pedestrians were present in the park at the time of the incident and anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information is urged to come forward.
