Is Bear leaving Emmerdale for good or is he coming back?

Metro7 hours ago
The following article does contain spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that airs this evening. You can watch it right now on ITVX.
Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) makes a decision about his life in Emmerdale during tonight's episode, and it will change everything for him.
In recent weeks, the character's behaviour has changed which has caused huge concern for son Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt). He has attempted to talk to his father about it, but Bear has either shut the conversation down, or told Paddy that nothing is wrong.
It's a fight with his son in this evening's episode that prompts Bear to get in his hire car and drive away from the village.
But will we ever see him again?
Here's everything you need to know about the departure scenes, and what's ahead.
Despite the fact it looks as though Bear will permanently leave the village, he will return – but not for a little while.
His new storyline was confirmed by producer Laura Shaw a few months ago.
She said: 'He's going to go off screen for a little while and go missing, and when he comes back, what you'll see is a very different Bear in a really different situation and we're all going to be watching saying 'what the hell has happened here?''.
Following his dog attack, Paddy heads back to the location in an attempt to shoot the stray animal. When he gets there, Paddy is confronted by Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), who claims she already took action with the dog.
As a result of Celia getting the upper hand in this conversation, Paddy heads back home with his confidence at a low. He then takes his anger out on his father, saying it would be better for everyone if he no longer lived with them.
A heartbroken Bear decides to pack up his things and prepares to leave to see his friend in Ireland. However, when Bear learns that plans with his pal have fallen through, he exits anyway, feeling unwanted by his family.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Joshua hasn't revealed a great deal about what's ahead for Bear, but he has spoken about how it feels to be trusted with one of this year's biggest storylines for the soap. More Trending
'I never saw sort of a more stripped-back Bear. I don't mean nakedness, I mean emotionally through the ringer. So I think there's something big coming up for him, which I'm really looking forward to. For anybody who is lucky enough to work on this wonderful thing, when you're given a nice, juicy storyline, it's helpful', he said.
'You feel safe as well, because you're surrounded by very sympathetic and well-versed and expert writers and story editors, and also you're in the hands of great directors and great colleagues to work with. I can't wait.
'Paddy will feel guilty, because this is his father's experience in this and it's right next to him, and he can't see it', he added.

'He can't put his finger on it even though he's experienced it himself. That's one part of the storyline that will be going on is that somewhere down the line, he'll have to realise that he missed it. That'll be an important part of Paddy's storyline as well.'

Love Island fans baffled as latest episode 'cut short' amid bombshell drama

The Love Island villa was graced with the arrival of two more bombshells tonight, as Billykiss and Ryan wasted no time in taking some of the Islanders on a date The Love Island villa was rocked with even more drama tonight, as bombshells Billykiss and Ryan made their shock entrance into the villa. However, fans were left baffled when tonight's episode was seemingly cut short just as the drama started to heat up. The new arrivals wasted no time in getting to know their fellow Islanders, as they headed out on dates straight away. Ryan chose Shakira and Toni to take out on a date, while Billykiss decided to date both Dejon and Conor. ‌ After the dates, Billykiss and Ryan entered the regular villa where they met the rest of the Islanders. Billykiss gathered around the fire pit with the girls while Ryan updated the boys on his dates with Shakira and Toni. However, fans didn't see much after that, as the show finished 7 minutes earlier than scheduled. ‌ The ITV2 schedule said the episode would be running until 10.05 - but fans' trip to the villa ended at 9.58 - just as Meg was heard worrying about Dejon's attraction towards the new bombshell. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: "THERES ANOTHER 7 MINUTES LEFT." A second penned: "No tomorrow night and finishes 6 mins early!" A third confused fan penned: "Weird part to end it on it ended a few minutes early." It seems Dejon is popular amongst the new bombshells, having been chosen for several dates. However, this didn't go down well with Meg, who was visibly fed up with the number of tests she and Dejon were having to undergo. ‌ As Billykiss walked through the main villa, Dejon gushed over her figure with the other guys, as a worried Meg said she thinks the new bombshell would be the one to turn heads. However, fans were left fuming when the episode came to an end on the abrupt cliffhanger. Fans weren't shown a snippet of tomorrow night either, which has been a reoccurring theme in this series. Although there have been some episodes where they're shown snippets of the next day - most of the time they wait for the first look the following afternoon to see what's in store. Elsewhere, sparks could be flying for Shakira and Ryan as she informed him that she had broken things off with Harry before the date. It came after she became aware of Harry and Helena's X-rated comments towards each other during last night's heart rate challenge. It came at a sensitive time for Shakira, just one day after Harry chose to snog his ex, Helena, in the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge. Enough was enough for Shakira, as earlier in the episode, she was completely over their relationship as she couldn't be bothered to be involved in the love triangle. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

Coronation Street legend tells shocking cancer lie as his colleague reels

Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) has had a tough time of it recently on Coronation Street as he's been going through gruelling treatment following a cancer diagnosis at the start of the year. Chemotherapy sessions have left him weak and tired, and he's also had the emotional stress of learning about his sister's Debbie (Sue Devaney)'s own diagnosis of dementia. Luckily our Kev has the support of his loyal wife Abi (Sally Carman) and his loving brother Carl (Jonathan Howard). But recently Kevin has found out that Carl is harbouring romantic feelings for Abi – and that she's trying her best to deny that she feels the same. Kevin recently rumbled what was going on after he saw a message from Carl on Abi's phone saying he'd like to get to know her better. Abi subsequently warned Carl off and then told Kevin that Carl was responsible for some sloppy workmanship in the garage. When Kevin saw on CCTV that Abi had tampered with the car Carl was working on, he accused them of having an affair. Abi denied it, but said she was annoyed by Carl's texts, laying all the blame on him. But then Kevin saw Abi hugging his brother after she told him she felt bad for lying to Kevin – and obviously that set him thinking. In upcoming episodes, Kevin heads to a hospital appointment to find out whether his cancer treatment has been successful. Nervously, he goes into the consultant's office, braced for whatever news might come next. Meanwhile, Abi is angry when she gets back from a callout to find Carl in the garage with his feet up. He reiterates that he can't stop thinking about her and he's convinced she feels the same, but she insists that it's Kevin she loves and she's happy with her life. Back in the Street, Kevin tells Carl that he's been given the all-clear and the cancer has gone. However, this is not what he's told Abi. She tells Carl that Kevin has told her he's going to need another round of chemo. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? When Kevin strains his groin playing football with Jack (Kyran Bowes), Abi is concerned and tells him he needs to tell his family the truth. He tells Debbie and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) that, unfortunately, the cancer didn't respond to the treatment he's had so far and he needs to have more chemo. More Trending It's not long before he has a change of heart, and explains to Tyrone that his previous account was a lie. The chemo has worked and he's now cancer-free. Tyrone is obviously stunned that Kevin would do something as shocking and hurtful as telling his family that he's still seriously unwell. View More » What's Kevin up to? Emmerdale legend 'signs new contract' as ITV soap makes staff and episode cuts

Popular ITV soap Emmerdale has reportedly moved to renew the contract of one of the show's most iconic characters with a number of big storylines expected to follow Emmerdale has moved to tie down a legend of the soap as he heads into his 40th year on screen. Chris Chittell has reportedly put pen to paper to extend his stay in the village. The 77-year-old actor plays the role of Eric Pollard in the ITV soap. And he is now set to carry on into the milestone year next year, with his 40th anniversary in September 2026. ‌ He first appeared in the village as a villain. His short 12-episode stint was quickly turned into a permanent placement due to his impressive skills on the set. And it's said he was "never" going to miss out on four decades. ‌ A source told The Sun: "Chris is Emmerdale and there was no way he wasn't going to make it to 40 years in the village. It's such a big achievement, and he loves being on the show just as much as he did when he first joined." And they teased there are huge things in store to mark the occasion. The insider added: "There are big things coming for Eric well into next year." While Chris is set for an extended stay, the same can't be said for a number of other stars of the show. The ITV soap is having its episode run slashed to five per week from January. It means a number of character also face being written out of the storylines in the near future. But Chris will continue to be at the forefront of things. In some of the show's biggest storylines over the year, his character has been front and centre. Among them is the heartbreaking death of wife Val Pollard in the helicopter crash. And his most recent storyline has pulled on the heartstrings as his character has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. ‌ His decline has been viewed on screen with his incurable condition worsening since it was first penned into the script in 2023. And he had hinted at an exit way back in 2017, saying at the time: "I can see Pollard heading downhill in five or 10 years' time. "But you're only ever as good as your last storyline. I've always said that when the writers stop writing for Pollard, I'd leave. And although I'd hate it, I'd just shake everyone's hand and say thank you very much, as the journey has been wonderful." While Emmerdale fans may be disappointed at the news of the show's cuts, they were happy to have found out there is set to be a major change to their weekly output in the meantime. As of this week, fans will be able to watch new episodes from the beginning of the day as they will be available to view online hours before they transmit via traditional transmission avenues. The decision was announced on social media, with fans happy with the tweak. On the official Instagram of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale on Sunday, a post read "Soap fans, rejoice!. Starting tomorrow, full episodes will be available on YouTube from 7am — the same day they air on TV!"
