General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat allocates Dh140m for maintenance of mosques in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat (Awqaf) has approved an allocation of Dh140 million for the maintenance and cleaning of all mosques across the emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with the standards and regulations adopted in the UAE.The step forms part of Awqaf's strategy to manage mosque affairs nationwide and enhance their services by equipping them with the latest facilities that enable worshippers to perform their prayers in comfort and reverence.Chairman of the General Authority for Awqaf, His Excellency Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, affirmed that Awqaf places the care of mosques, attention to their needs, and the provision of their requirements at the forefront of its priorities, ensuring they fulfil their role in society in a distinguished and civilised manner, as hubs of educational and cultural enlightenment, and as platforms for communication, harmony, and tolerance among all segments of the community.His Excellency also noted that Awqaf adopts a policy for the development of mosque services, with a focus on ensuring their sustainability, quality, and alignment with the latest systems that promote resource efficiency and environmental conservation. This is achieved in collaboration with partners and relevant entities across the UAE.He praised the continued support extended to Awqaf and to the houses of worship by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and the wise leadership.
Additionally, he expressed appreciation for the generous contributions of benefactors who dedicate their endowments in pursuit of lasting reward and blessings.

6 June 2025 09:21 UMM AL QAIWAIN (WAM)His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, today offered the Eid Al Adha prayer at the Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in the the Al Rass region of the Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, a number of Sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and members of Muslim communities in Umm Al Qaiwain also offered prayers alongside the Umm Al Qaiwain Ruler. After the prayer, Sheikh Saud exchanged Eid greetings with Sheikhs and senior officials.
