Man 'banned' from Ryanair after being hauled off flight for 'vaping in toilet'

A passenger was kicked off a Ryanair flight to a popular holiday hotspot for allegedly vaping in the bathroom and setting off the fire alarm. The 21-year-old man reportedly caused a two-hour delay to his flight after he allegedly puffed on a vape in the plane's bathroom before the aircraft was due to depart Edinburgh Airport for Alicante in Spain on July 3. Footage captured by fellow passenger Tristan James Walker shows the man being escorted off the plane by six police officers before being hauled into a van on the tarmac. According to Mr Walker, the 21-year-old man was caught after the lavatory smoke detector went off. After the alarm sounded, the pilot is said to have informed the accused he would be removed from the plane. Mr Walker told Luxury Travel Daily: "A young lad in a group happened to set the alarm off for apparently vaping. "The pilot then came out after the air stewardess explained what happened, and then the pilot stated he would be removed from the plane. "The young lad waited for over six police officers to come on board. "He was taken off, he was very calm, did not argue or anything, no drama. "We then happened to bump into him on Benidorm's famous strip and he told us he just got a caution and was banned from Ryanair." Authorities have confirmed the 21-year-old suspect has been charged in relation to an aviation offence. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 7.55 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025 were called to an aircraft at Edinburgh Airport. "Officers attended, and a 21-year-old man was charged in connection with an aviation offence. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal." Conor McGregor lists €17,500 wine on Dublin menu as price of own stout leaked

Conor McGregor's Dublin pub is selling bottles of wine for a whopping €17,500 while the price of his own-brand stout has been unveiled. The Dubliner has invested millions in acquiring and renovating the Crumlin boozer, but it has listed the upmarket Petrus 2005 red wine for a mouthwatering €17,500. In figures first revealed by the Sunday World, McGregor's pub lists bottles of wine ranging from €32 up to €690 before the big gap to the €17,500 price figure, while bottles of champagne are priced between €150 and €780. A quick Google search shows that the Petrus 2005 sells on the open market for around €5,000. The Petrus 2005 retails at around €5,000 The tabloid also says that McGregor sells his own brand Forged Irish Stout for €6 while a Guinness is €6.50 and lagers are €7.30. McGregor found himself back in the news after three Judges of the Court of Appeal upheld a finding by a jury that he assaulted Ms Hand - whereby they agreed that he raped her in the Beacon Hotel in south Dublin in December 2018. McGregor has been ordered to pay Ms Hand over €2m in legal costs. Those costs are set to be paid to Nikita as is the balance of a €250,000 in damages awarded to her by the jury at the end of the High Court case last November. The Irish Mirror understands that Ms Hand is suing McGregor - as well as couple Samantha O'Reilly and Stephen Cummins, who were spectacularly withdrawn as witnesses at the final moment of the fighter's appeal. In a comment to the Irish Mirror, Nikita's solicitors stated: "We confirm that further proceedings have been issued in the High Court and a Statement of claims has been prepared and will be served imminently." The Irish Mirror understands the case against McGregor, Ms O'Reilly and Stephen Cummins are for damages for malicious abuse of the process of the court by the Defendants, and each of them, their respective servants and/or agents. She is suing for aggravated and punitive damages as well as costs.
