Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: New Rajasthani Family To Enter Gokuldham Society

A new Rajasthani family of four is all set to start living in the Gokuldham society. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), one of the most popular and longest-running sitcoms on Indian television, is all set to bring a new change in the Gokuldham society. After the show's 17th anniversary in July, reports have surfaced in the media suggesting that the makers are introducing a new family to the show. This comes after TMKOC's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, announced plans to include a brand-new family. According to a report by the Times of India, a Rajasthani family is about to join the Gokuldham society. Reportedly, the head of the new family is a businessman, and fans are excited to know if he is going to be a rival to Jethalal, who runs Gada Electronics. It is worth noting that the production house of the show has not officially announced the details of the new family and has kept the details under wraps. However, some pictures from the sets of TMKOC, which were shared by the above-mentioned outlet, showed the families of the neighbourhood welcoming the new ones with great enthusiasm and open arms. The photos showed that the cast and crew were shooting the grand entry of the Rajasthani family. One of them captured the family of four riding camels, decorated in traditional Rajasthani style. The woman wearing a yellow kurta set was seen riding a camel with their son, whereas the man dressed in a blue t-shirt and black pants was seen with their daughter. The production house is yet to reveal the exact episode in which the brand-new family will be seen in the show or the actors portraying the new characters. While the details remain under wraps, one thing is for sure that they are set to bring a fresh storyline filled with TMKOC's classic humour, funny misunderstandings, and, obviously, their cultural flavour. Since When Has Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Been Running? Created and produced by Asit Kumarr Modi, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah premiered on Sony SAB in 2008. Since then, many new faces have joined the show and old ones have left. Those actors who have continued to play their characters in TMKOC are Dilip Joshi as Jethalal, Amit Bhatt as Champaklal Jayantilal Gada, Tanuj Mahashabde as Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer, Munmun Dutta as Babita Krishnan Iyer, Mandar Chandwadkar as Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide, Sonalika Joshi as Madhavi Aatmaram Bhide, and Ambika Ranjankar as Komal Hansraj Hathi, among others. Some new faces on the show are Nitish Bhaluni, Sachin Shroff, Sunayana Fozdar and Khushi Mali. First Published: August 16, 2025, 13:02 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. TMKOC: Disha Vakani Was 'Uncomfortable' In Rakhi Video With Asit Modi? Jennifer Mistry Claims

Disha Vakani used to play the iconic role of Dayaben in TMKOC. However, she has been missing from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for years now. Days after a video of Disha Vakani trying a rakhi to the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah maker Asit Kumarr Modi surfaced on social media, Jennifer Mistry has now claimed that the entire event was planned to 'clear image". In a recent interview, Mistry, who used to play the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in TMKOC, claimed that Disha Vakani looked uncomfortable in her video with Asit Modi. 'Khisyani billi khambha nooche, it's been 17 years and till today, not even a single photo of Disha tying rakhi to Asit ji has surfaced. This time, the whole thing was recorded on video. Now, how will they clear this image? And they are saying that Disha went to Asit ji's house but actually Disha didn't go to Asit ji's house, Asit ji and Neela ji went to Disha's house. It was clearly visible that Disha was very uncomfortable and she was not smiling," she told Filmygyan. Have You Watched Asit Modi's Video With Disha Vakani? As Raksha Bandhan celebrations took over social media, fans were treated to a special moment shared by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi. The clip featured Disha tying a rakhi on Asit Modi and sharing a touching moment of mutual respect, leaving fans eager and hopeful for her return to the show. In his heartfelt caption, Modi wrote, 'Some relationships make destiny… Not blood, it is a relation of the heart ❤️! #dishavakani Not just our 'Daya Bhabhi', but my sister. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Asit Kumarr Modi (@officialasitkumarrmodi) Who Is Disha Vakani? Disha Vakani used to play the iconic role of Dayaben in TMKOC. However, she has been missing from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for years now. She went on maternity leave in 2018 and has not returned since. Just a few months ago, Asit Modi exclusively confirmed to News18 Showsha that Disha would not be returning to the popular sitcom. 'It is difficult for her now (to return to the show). For women, life changes after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is really a bit difficult for them. But I am still positive. I feel somewhere that god will do a miracle and she will return. If she comes, then it will be a good thing. If for some reason she does not come, then I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show," the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah creator said. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Dilip Joshi, Asit Modi Had A 'Bahut Kharab Ladai' In Hong Kong

Last Updated: Last year, News18 Showsha also exclusively reported that Asit Modi and Dilip Joshi had a major argument on the set of TMKOC. Former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jennifer Mistry has claimed that Dilip Joshi and producer Asit Kumaarr Modi had a heated argument in Hong Kong during one of the shoot trips for the show. Recently, the actress, who used to play the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in the popular sitcom, made fresh claims about Joshi and Modi's heated fight in public and stated that it had left everyone shocked. 'Jo Hong Kong me bahut kharab ladai hui thi. Pure public ke beech me jam ke chilla-chilla ke ladai hui thi. Dilip ji ne Asit ji ke collar pakad li thi. Bahut garma-garmi ho gayi thi. Ek time to extreme ho gaya tha. Matlab sab pareshan ho gaye the ke bhai tum producer ho, tum baar-baar kya jaate? To Dilip ji aur Asit ji ki isi cheez par bahas ho gayi thi," Jennifer told Filmygyan. Last year, News18 Showsha also exclusively reported that Asit Modi and Dilip Joshi had a major argument on the sets of TMKOC. We learnt that the incident took place in early August when the two got into a heated argument on set over permission to take a few days off. An insider told us that Dilip reached out to Asit regarding the request to take a few days off but the creator seemingly avoided the conversation. This left the actor offended. He almost had a physical altercation with him. 'It was the last day of Kush Shah's shoot. Dilip ji was waiting for Asit bhai to come and talk to him about his leaves. But when Asit bhai came, he directly went to meet Kush. This disappointed Dilip ji," a source close to the show's production told us. 'Dilip ji got very angry and the two got into a heated argument. Dilip ji even held Asit Modi's collar and threatened to leave the show. However, Asit bhai calmed him down. We don't know how to two sort their differences," the insider added. We had also reported that even during the Hong Kong trip shoot of the show, a massive fight erupted between Joshi and Modi, when Gurucharan Singh Sodhi helped them resolve their differences. Dilip Joshi Denies Any Conflict With Asit Modi However, Dilip Joshi later dismissed rumours of any conflict with Asit Modi, calling the report 'false". Expressing his disappointment, the actor stated that such baseless stories not only hurt him and Asit but also impact the millions of loyal fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, a show that holds a special place in his heart. 'I don't know who is behind spreading these stories, but I want to say this clearly: I'm here, I'm working every day with the same love and passion for the show, and I'm not going anywhere. I've been a part of this wonderful journey for so long, and I will continue to be a part of it. We all stand together in our commitment to make this show the best it can be… Let's focus on the positivity and joy that this show brings to so many. Thank you to our fans for always supporting us—it really means the world," he said. First Published: August 14, 2025, 16:10 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
