National Highways said the A47 in Norfolk was blocked between the A149 at Runham Roundabout in Great Yarmouth and the A1064 at Acle. Norfolk Police said it was called to the scene at about 06:30 BST on Thursday to a two-vehicle collision. The force has advised people to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

M50 to be closed 10 times overnight for flooding improvements

A maintenance scheme running the length of the M50 will see it closed in phases to tackle flooding drainage system on both sides of the carriageway between junction four of the M50 and junction eight of the M5 will cleaned and repaired, with vegetation removed as part of the first closure will take place from junction two of the M50 to junction eight of the M5 from 20:00 BST until 06:00 on routes will be signposted during all 10 closures, which will end in April 2026. Dan Bothwick, National Highways project manager, said workers will carry out grass cutting, barrier repairs and clean signs while the motorway is closed."We will consider whether any resurfacing work can be carried out and also carry out repairs to damaged safety netting," he added."We want to utilise the closures as much as possible to avoid further disruption for drivers." All of the closures will run from 20:00 to 06:00.
