Anna Kendrick ready to return for Accountant 3

Perth Now27-04-2025
Anna Kendrick is keen to return for 'The Accountant 3'.
The 39-year-old actress didn't reprise her role as Dana Cummings in the recently-released sequel but director Gavin O'Connor is planning a third movie and has already asked her to be part of it.
Asked if there are plans for a third movie, lead star Ben Affleck - who plays autistic accountant Christian Wolff - told the New York Times newspaper: "That's a question I want to ask Bill [Dubuque, writer] and Gavin. I'm just waiting for another great script."
Gavin said: "Bill and I have had some preliminary conversations. I am personally running from another puzzle movie, which we've done twice now. One thing we've talked about is the idea of bringing Anna Kendrick back. Maybe Christian can finally get the love that he deserves."
Gavin's comment prompted Ben to joke that he and the team are hoping Anna "still likes" them, prompting the director to reveal he'd already discussed the return with the 'Pitch Perfect' star.
He said: "Actually, Ben, she and I have been texting. She said she's a hundred percent in if we want."
Ben replied: "Oh, beautiful. Then it's really down to you guys to mess it up."
In another interview, Gavin explained Anna's character was never meant to be in the sequel because the "whole point" of the movie was the relationship between Christian and his brother Braxton (Jon Bernthal) following their emotional reunion in the 2016 thriller.
He told Entertainment Weekly: "We always wanted it to be three movies.
"When Bill and I started talking about the second movie, it was very important that we didn't want a love story. We wanted a love story with brothers. We wanted to do a '48 Hours' or 'Midnight Run' kind of buddy picture...
"I mean, how do I bring Anna into the second and then ignore her? The whole point was exploring the brothers and that emotional line between them. That was always the intention, so she was never going to be in the second."
The filmmaker confirmed his planned third movie will likely feature a love story.
He said: "Then the third movie, which is what the plan has always been, is for [Chris'] quest for love and connection to be consummated. I don't know what that's going to be yet, but that's the intention...
"I'm going to probably do something that makes me interested to come to work every day and tell a story. And then, lastly, yes, if it's going to be Anna, Chris needs to find love and find connection and go off into the sunset. So it probably will be with Dana Cummings."

Liam Neeson jokes sex scenes with Pamela Anderson were his favourite part of The Naked Gun

Liam Neeson has joked his favourite part of The Naked Gun was filming "the sex scenes" with Pamela Anderson. The 73-year-old actor stars as Frank Drebin Jr. opposite Anderson as nightclub singer Beth in the upcoming comedy reboot, and Neeson has now teased he particularly enjoyed shooting their love scenes, which were made with the help of an intimacy coordinator. The Sun newspaper reports Liam joked the best bit of the shoot was "the sex scenes", and he added of the intimacy coordinator: "I'd never had one before. "But she was in the background. There was no kind of: 'Ok! Excuse me!'" The publication goes on to report Liam claimed the intimacy coordinator threw her hands in the air and exclaimed: "I can't take this! This is too hot for me. I'm going for coffee." In The Naked Gun - which is a new take on the original Leslie Nielsen 1988 comedy movie - Detective Frank Drebin Jr. (Neeson) takes on his first big case, determined to solve a high-profile murder and save the police department from closure. Following in his father's hilariously clumsy footsteps, he stumbles through outrageous situations while trying to solve the mystery. Neeson recently said he didn't want to 'emulate' Nielsen in the new film, which was directed by Akiva Schaffer and hits screens on 1 August. He told Empire magazine: 'I wouldn't say nerve-wracking, but every day I would go up to Akiva after we wrapped and say, 'How was it?' Because I just didn't know. 'I did not want to emulate the wonderful Leslie Nielsen, but the only thing I grabbed from him, was, 'Be serious. Don't try to be funny. Just stick to being a serious cop who is a bit of a doofus.'' The Taken actor also admitted he wasn't sure if he was funny enough for The Naked Gun - which also stars Paul Walter Hauser and Danny Huston. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Neeson said: 'During the whole shoot - I'm being very honest - I still did not know, when we wrapped at the end of each working day, whether it was working for me. 'Pamela, Paul, Danny, everybody else, I thought, were very funny. I just couldn't put a verdict on myself, on my own performance. 'I'd always ask Akiva, 'Are you sure it's working?' That continued from day one till we finished.''

Lindsay Lohan is determined to be 'fully involved' in her films

Lindsay Lohan aims to be "fully involved" in her movie projects. The 39-year-old actress reprises her role as Anna Coleman in Freakier Friday, the forthcoming sequel to the 2003 flick Freaky Friday, and revealed that she had plenty of say in her character's development in the bodyswap comedy after working as an executive producer on her recent Netflix projects. Lindsay told Empire magazine: "It really came from the movies I was doing with Netflix. "I was like, 'I know this.' When I'm reading the script, I'm already visualising where it's going to be, what the character's wearing. "(That journey) was a big part of what the new script was going to be. I like to be fully involved in the projects I do now, from the ground up. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge I've acquired over all these years in the industry, and don't want to let that go to waste. That's a big part of who I am as an actor now." Both Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtis (as Anna's mother Tess Coleman) return for Freakier Friday – which is set for release next month – and she recalled how the Halloween icon approached her about making the movie. The Parent Trap star recalled: "She said, 'What do you think, if we do Freaky Friday 2?' "I was like, 'I'm in, it just has to be the right script.' That was the big thing for both of us. We wanted it to live up to all the expectations." Lindsay and Jamie have remained close friends since the original flick and the former revealed how she would lead the pair in exercises on set. She said: "Between takes, I would make Jamie do wall sits. "She'd be like, 'Are we really doing this right now?', and I'm like, 'Yes, it's good for us.'" Lohan's alter ego is a mother in the sequel and she got some real-life insight for the part when she and her husband Bader Shammas welcomed son Luai in 2023. She explained: "Anna's a mom now, raising a teenager, and the dynamic there is ever-changing. "You also have Tess, who is still kind of overbearing – and it's another merging of two families (with Anna getting ready to marry Eric, who is played by Manny Jacinto). "The whole world looks different. Everything is about your child. But we have to remember to make time for ourselves too, live our lives, fulfil our dreams. Moms are always trying to juggle it all, and that's what Anna's going through in this." Anna once again plays the guitar in this movie and Lindsay was elated to pick up the instrument as it brought back fond memories of the original film – although she wanted more of a musical challenge this time. The Mean Girls star said: "The second I started with my guitar coach again, it was like we never left. "It was the same guitar, everything. It was like it was yesterday. "We made it more difficult for this one. I'm such a perfectionist; we rehearsed a lot."

All actors need to show courage, says Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson thinks all actors need to show "courage". The 58-year-old actress actually feels she performs at her best whenever she's "terrified", like when she sang in The Naked Gun. The Hollywood star told Entertainment Weekly: "You have to have courage. You have to have courage to be an actor at all. But that's my happy place is when I'm terrified. "I actually really enjoy singing. I love being on stage … The feeling is so rewarding because I feel like we repress so much of ourselves, and especially as an artist, and I love to write and journal and write poetry, but performing and working on a movie is another way to express yourself because everything is loaded." Pamela actually leaned on her own life experiences for her Naked Gun performance. She said: "All the words to that song, I'm thinking of personal experiences in my life, and so I'm able to get it out even in a crazy scene like that. So it's not just spitting out the words, it's performing some of your innermost thoughts." Meanwhile, Pamela recently revealed that she doesn't enjoy her "sex symbol" status. The actress cemented her status as a sex symbol by playing 'C.J.' Parker in Baywatch in the 90s, but Pamela didn't actually enjoy the attention that came her way at the time. During an appearance on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, Pamela explained: "I don't like being a sex symbol. "I mean, I think it's not very sexy. I think we all aspire to be sexy in our relationships, but sexy for the world is, I don't know. "It brought a lot of attention I didn't like, but I hate to say that because I'm not complaining, but I do feel that is a slippery slope where you are presenting yourself to the world like this and you get this attention back that." Pamela has adopted a makeup-free look in recent years, and the actress is now embracing being "more natural". She said: "It can be even scary at times, me not wearing makeup and me being at this age, coming into this part of my career, I felt it was important for me in my personal life, to be more natural."
