Anna Kendrick ready to return for Accountant 3

Perth Now27-04-2025

Anna Kendrick is keen to return for 'The Accountant 3'.
The 39-year-old actress didn't reprise her role as Dana Cummings in the recently-released sequel but director Gavin O'Connor is planning a third movie and has already asked her to be part of it.
Asked if there are plans for a third movie, lead star Ben Affleck - who plays autistic accountant Christian Wolff - told the New York Times newspaper: "That's a question I want to ask Bill [Dubuque, writer] and Gavin. I'm just waiting for another great script."
Gavin said: "Bill and I have had some preliminary conversations. I am personally running from another puzzle movie, which we've done twice now. One thing we've talked about is the idea of bringing Anna Kendrick back. Maybe Christian can finally get the love that he deserves."
Gavin's comment prompted Ben to joke that he and the team are hoping Anna "still likes" them, prompting the director to reveal he'd already discussed the return with the 'Pitch Perfect' star.
He said: "Actually, Ben, she and I have been texting. She said she's a hundred percent in if we want."
Ben replied: "Oh, beautiful. Then it's really down to you guys to mess it up."
In another interview, Gavin explained Anna's character was never meant to be in the sequel because the "whole point" of the movie was the relationship between Christian and his brother Braxton (Jon Bernthal) following their emotional reunion in the 2016 thriller.
He told Entertainment Weekly: "We always wanted it to be three movies.
"When Bill and I started talking about the second movie, it was very important that we didn't want a love story. We wanted a love story with brothers. We wanted to do a '48 Hours' or 'Midnight Run' kind of buddy picture...
"I mean, how do I bring Anna into the second and then ignore her? The whole point was exploring the brothers and that emotional line between them. That was always the intention, so she was never going to be in the second."
The filmmaker confirmed his planned third movie will likely feature a love story.
He said: "Then the third movie, which is what the plan has always been, is for [Chris'] quest for love and connection to be consummated. I don't know what that's going to be yet, but that's the intention...
"I'm going to probably do something that makes me interested to come to work every day and tell a story. And then, lastly, yes, if it's going to be Anna, Chris needs to find love and find connection and go off into the sunset. So it probably will be with Dana Cummings."

Kylie Jenner is 'learning to keep personal life private'

Kylie Jenner is "learning" to keep her personal life private and has found a "balance" with how much she shares with fans. 'The Kardashians' star grew up in the spotlight as a regular on her family's reality show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and has almost 400 million followers on Instagram, but she's been keeping some aspects of her life - including her romance with actor Timothee Chalamet - quiet and she thinks she's finally found the right "balance". She told Dazed magazine: " I think I've found a good balance with sharing the things that I want to share. Keeping parts of my personal life private. I'm just learning as I go, I think." Kylie went on to admit she's never truly experienced total privacy because she can barely remember a time before being famous. She added: "I don't really remember a time when that wasn't the case for me. It would have probably been hard for me if I didn't have a family who understood completely what I was going through." The reality star previously explained her reluctance to talk about her boyfriend during an interview with the New York Times newspaper last year. When she was asked if her changing fashion sense was linked to a certain new person in her life, she said: "I don't know how I feel about that. I just don't want to talk about personal things." Kylie also previously admitted she finds it "hard to keep up with the internet" and she actually enjoys being offline these days. The star - who is mother to two kids Stormi and Aire with her ex-partner Travis Scott - told the November 2024 issue of ELLE magazine: "My friends and I laugh because it's hard to keep up with the internet now. It's exhausting. "When I was posting 24/7 - waking up, what I'm eating for breakfast, what I'm wearing for the day, the colour of my nails, what car I'm driving, where I'm driving to - I didn't have an intense schedule. I wasn't working as much; I didn't have kids and just had more time. "If you're not posting three times a day on TikTok, you fall behind."

'I have the urge to ask her if she's OK': Miley Cyrus shares fears for Sabrina Carpenter

Miley Cyrus worries Sabrina Carpenter will get "fried". The 33-year-old star - who shot to fame in Disney show 'Hannah Montana' when she was just 14 years old - believes young performers should be offered regular therapy sessions and she is particularly concerned about the welfare of singers such as the 'Espresso' hitmaker because of their hectic schedules. She told the New York Times newspaper: "Ariana [Grande] says there should be therapy for child actors, and I totally agree. There should be a weekly check-in. "I've been doing very consistent therapy since I was 17 or 18 years old, so I think I've cleared up a lot of the feelings that I had about being a child star, and now I don't notice it so much because I don't notice it in me. "I guess the only thing I notice is when people are working too hard. I met Sabrina Carpenter a couple of times, and every time I see her I have the urge to ask her if she's OK. I'll see she's performing in Ireland, and then the next day she's doing a show in Kansas. And I'm like, 'I don't know how that could be physically OK,' because I was in that situation. "I know what it feels like to fry yourself, and I don't want anyone else to get fried." Miley praised the current crop of "new girls" because she thinks the pop stars are much more confident in themselves than she was at that age. She said: "But I like all the new girls. I think they're all unique and are very found. That's what I like to see. I like people that have found themselves, because I don't think I had myself totally figured out yet." The 'Easy Lover' singer sparked outrage in 2013 with a raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) with Robin Thicke and she believes the way she was judged at the time was hugely unfair. Asked what she sees when she looks back on that period, she said: "I see adults not acting like it. I would never look at someone that's 18, 19, 20, 21 years old and judge them as an adult, because they're not yet. "At one point, there was even a petition. It was like 'Millions of Moms Against Miley' or something. "Isn't that crazy, this petition? In 2013, maybe that performance felt really shocking, but when you watch it back, it really wasn't that wild. I was dressed as a teddy bear." Miley would love to do be part of a group discussion with other former child stars about their experiences. She said: "About child acting, I don't know how Jenna Ortega feels about it. I've never gotten to speak to her. I would totally love to. I think people that grew up in the same position — it would be really sick to do a round table."

Miley Cyrus addresses future acting plans as she issues 'challenge' to Hollywood directors

Miley Cyrus has "never really found the role" that would allow her to revive her acting career. The 32-year-old pop star shot to international fame when she took on the title role of Disney's musical television sitcom 'Hannah Montana' in the late 2000s, but has since been heavily focused on her music and only appeared in a handful of films. Speaking on the New York Times' 'The Interview' podcast, she said: "It's actually really interesting because I got 'Hannah Montana' because I was a singer. "I was singing in Nashville, there was a little place in our mall where you could go and make demos. We don't have a Build-A-Bear, we had Build-A-Country-Music-Star! "So I used to go to the mall, make my demos, write my songs. And they were looking for someone who could really sing, not just record kids' music but actually have music be the heart of the show. I was chosen to be an actress because I was a singer. "I got known as being an actress, but I hadn't actually acted in anything. I had been in a baked bean commercial and I had two lines in a Tim Burton one time." The 'Easy Lover' hitmaker - who starred opposite now ex-husband Liam Hemsworth in 'The Last Song' in 2010 and last held a leading role with 2012's 'So Undercover' - is still keen to return to acting at some point and has "challenged" directors an writers to come up with something that she can play. She added: "I became an actress so I could bring that part to life and then I just never really found the role for me because I'm such a character in myself that to find something that can absorb me completely is really challenging. "And I challenge every writer and director out there to bring it to me because I would love to. "I either want to be myself because I'm really good at that, or I wanna throw me away because I'm really good at that too. I'm not good in the middle."
