Iconic Love Island star takes swipe at Megan Forte Clarke on Aftersun – insisting she made a ‘huge mistake'

The Sun07-07-2025
LOVE Island legend Cara De La Hoyde took a huge swipe at Megan Forte Clarke on Aftersun - insisting she made a "huge mistake".
Former winner Cara De La Hoyde, 34, claimed Megan, 24, made a fatal error by dumping Tommy Bradley, 22, insisting she could have won the show if she'd stayed loyal.
Appearing on the ITV2 show with her husband and fellow Islander Nathan Massey, Cara said, 'She stumbled there, cos if she'd have stayed with him, she'd have won. So she's a silly shell.'
Megan was dumped from the villa after coupling up with Casa Amor bombshell Hugo, a move that shocked viewers and saw public opinion quickly turn against her.
Many fans believed her connection with Tommy was one of the strongest in the villa and were disappointed when she chose to end it.
Cara and Nathan were both full of praise for Tommy, calling him a 'lovely boy' and saying he'd be the kind of man they'd want their daughter to bring home.
Nathan added, 'I would love my daughter to bring a man home like Tommy. And he's a Tottenham fan as well.'
Cara jokingly revealed, 'I stalked him the other day,' to which the audience erupted in laughter.
Nathan went one step further, saying, 'Give him the 50 grand - just him, on his own."
Reflecting on the split between the girls in the villa, Cara said she was firmly on the side of the women who stand up for themselves.
She said: 'I'm on the stand up for yourself team. Not the doormat team. These boys are nothing.'
As for who they're backing to win, there was no hesitation.
Love Island star 'goes missing' on Aftersun as fans worry she's been axed from spin-off show
Cara joked: 'Tommy only. No women. Just Tommy."
The brunette bombshell's departure followed days of drama after she cracked on with Conor while in a couple with Tommy.
Moments before her exit, Megan told an emotional Conor that she would 'wait for him' when he asked.
However, Conor didn't offer to leave the villa alongside Megan, who he had spent the night with in the Hideaway.
Conor told Ben by the Firepit: 'I hand on heart do not think that anyone is going to come through that door that I fancy more than Megan… I look at her like a girlfriend on the outside.'
Megan had a tense final week in the villa.
Fans were left unhappy after she ditched Tommy, who she had been with from the start, and moved on with the rugby lad.
The pair shared secret snogs on the Terrace behind smitten Tommy 's back, infuriating viewers at home.
Fans turned on Megan after she appeared to be gleeful when Conor and Tommy rowed over her.
Speaking previously about her regret over the way she handled the love triangle, she told On Demand Entertainment how she would have done things differently given the chance.
She said: "I'd take a breath."
The TV star continued: "When you're in there, emotions are high. When you hear he said, she said stuff, it just winds you up even more."

ITV 'launches formal investigation into Good Morning Britain' after major blunder

More info ITV has reportedly launched a formal investigation into Good Morning Britain following one 'humiliating blunder too big to ignore' that left viewers furious. The broadcaster's long-running breakfast programme broadcast a tribute to the victims of one of history's most horrific atrocities on Holocaust Memorial Day earlier this year. During that broadcast, presenter Ranvir Singh was delivering the report and whilst she mentioned that the six million people murdered in the death camps were 'disabled, gay or belonged to another ethnic group', she failed to clarify that this figure referred exclusively to the Jewish victims, and didn't appear to acknowledge that there were 11 million victims in total. The programme in question was transmitted on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in January, and it is now understood that the incident has become the focus of a formal inquiry. A source told The Sun: "Good Morning Britain is a flagship programme for ITV and to allow a blunder like this was too big to simply ignore. They are now investigating how this happened and the top brass want answers. ITV pride themselves on their news coverage but this was lower than sub par.", reports the Mirror. The insider also revealed that 'the probe will uncover who allowed it to happen and there will be consequences' for those responsible, adding that it 'has been hugely humiliating and is a headache the bosses over at ITV really could do without. ' The Mirror has contacted ITV for a statement regarding the investigation they have initiated. The gaffe caused widespread fury at the time, with Ranvir, who frequently stands in for Lorraine Kelly on her namesake daytime programme, swiftly issuing an apology for the oversight. She stated: "In yesterday's news when we reported on the memorial events in Auschwitz, we said six million people were killed in the Holocaust, but crucially failed to say they were Jewish. That was our mistake, for which we apologise." A programme representative commented: "In our studio introduction to the report on the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz we failed to acknowledge the Jewish community which we have since apologised for live on air in today's programme. "This failure was done in error, however clear reference to Jewish people in the correspondent news report from Auschwitz immediately followed, as well as a further extended programme report referencing the six million Jewish victims. Yesterday's programme also included a live studio interview with a survivor of Auschwitz, Rachel Levy alongside Olivia Marks-Woldman, Chief Executive of the Holocaust Memorial Trust, both of whom talked candidly about their own experiences as Jewish people." The clip faced fierce criticism on social media, with one person writing: "Disgusting shameful!" A second added: "This can't be for real? "This coverage is utterly disgraceful! This history must not be forgotten, nor must it be distorted. The Jews were the victims then - we must make sure that they will never be the victims again," said another.
