Major Spice Girls tour 'given green light by Victoria' - but there's a twist
The Spice Girls are going to get the Abba Voyage treatment, it is reported.
For the uninitiated, this would not entail the real Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell getting up on stage and spicing up our lives, but instead fans would be paying to see digital avatars.
The Spice Girls' former manager Simon Fuller has pitched the idea to the band and they are considering it, just as he did with Swedish pop legends Abba nine years ago, The Sun reports.
Fans have been waiting for the moment all five women will take to the stage for a big reunion tour, with rumours circulating it could happen in 2026 to coincide with the 30th anniversary of their hit song Wannabe.
Partial dreams came true in 2019 when the two Mels, Geri and Emma toured, though Victoria was absent. While VB squashed tour rumours in 2024 saying that it will 'not happen' – it's said she's up for the hologram version.
A source told the publication: 'Simon is desperate to have one last hurrah with the Spice Girls and this is his latest idea.

They explained: 'Touring again looks unlikely – someone like Victoria for example is never going to be a 'working member' of the Spice Girls – so this seems like the best option.'
The outlet report the former bandmates were 'receptive' to the idea, continuing: 'Even Victoria said she would be behind it if all of them had agreed. She wouldn't stop it.'
There's no wondering why, as the quintet would be making money in their sleep.
Smash hit Abba Voyage celebrated its third anniversary on Tuesday night having already raked in over £1.40billion for the UK economy through its shows, attended by over 2million people since opening.
The show sees the digital versions of the band – made up of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad – perform seven times a week in a purpose-built, 3,000-capacity venue in East London.
The Spice Girls sold out 13 stadium tours in the UK and Ireland in 2019, reportedly pocketing around £4.4 million each.

News of a digital avatar Spice Girls tour does check out, as reports came in April that a tour plan was in the works – but Victoria was '90% out'. More Trending
This came after a telling interview in March this year, when Geri told The Sunday Times that 'there will be something' coming.
'My hope is we come back together as a collective. It's more respectful to come as one, so we'll come as one,' adding that the five of them do have a WhatsApp group chat.
She continued: 'We love each other. I love them, I care about them, and we want the best for each other. We shared something so monumental. We've always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful.'
With hits including Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life, Say You'll Be There, and Who Do You Think You Are, the group dominated the charts until their devastating split in 2000.

Huge 90s band Ace Of Base now from Eurovision failure to extremist gang regrets
From being involved in a far-right extremist gang to failing to qualify for Eurovision, the members of hit 90s group Ace of Base have been on quite the journey during their lifetime... Behind some of the best Europop songs of the 90s, Ace of Base have had a wild history. From humble beginnings in Sweden to gangland threats and even an unsuccessful Eurovision attempt, their story has everything... The Scandinavian electro-pop group was first formed in 1987 in Gothenberg, and was made up of siblings Jonas, Linn and Jenny Berggren with the quartet then being completed with founding member Ulf Ekberg. The group began working their way around the clubs of the Swedish city but struggled to take off, with heavy metal being the go-to for Swedes at the time, a far cry from the techno sound. But, after the release of the single Wheel of Fortune broke them into the charts, their next release, All that She Wants, would make them a hit across the world, as the track became certified platinum topping the UK charts for three weeks straight in 1993. They would continue to build on their success with hits like The Sign, becoming staples of clubs across the world in the early 90s. But, just as quickly as they shot to fame, they would as quickly disappear into obscurity. The group were last seen in a series of concerts between 2007 and 2009 as a trio without Linn, but since then the band's original members have all gone down some very different paths: Jenny Berggren After leaving the band in the late 00s, Jenny was the only member to continue recording music with a solo career, as well as turning to writing. In 2009 she published her autobiography, Vinna hela världen, and although an English version translated to 'To Win the World' was due to be released, it never came to fruition. In 2010 she released her first single, Here I Am, which only reached 14 on the Swedish charts before releasing her second single, Gotta Go, and her first album My Story that same year. The same year she was in the running to be the Danish contestant for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with her song, Let Your Heart B Mine, but she failed to get through and gain the nomination for the country to go to the event. She also appeared alongside Ulf in the 2024 for the Ace of Base: All That She Wants documentary looking at the band's story. In the show, she also recounts a scary experience when a fan broke into her home and held a knife to her throat in the early '90s Speaking to People about the ordeal, she said: 'I think that was when the star was born in me. I wanted to sing. I had to calculate with all the dangers, and I just realised, 'No, I want to sing. This is what I want'.' Ulf Ekberg Founder Ulf Ekberg has found himself working with and trying to grow tech start ups in Sweden. Speaking to ABC, the former musician said: "There's so many tech companies in Sweden, especially Stockholm. "I'm interested in creating a sector in technology and music. I'm building companies, and it's been a fantastic last five years. It feels like everything is exploding here. We are in a lot of different sectors, but we try to keep it to the creative sectors as much as possible; movies, TV, music and entertainment, which are obviously very close to my heart." In last year's documentary, Ulf also talks about his involvement with the far-right extremist gang in Sweden as a teenager, something that has shown his deep regret for. In the People interview, he added: 'I think it's a very important topic to talk about because it is a very angry world we live in right now. It's much more angry than when I was a teenager. 'I hope that maybe that part of this documentary can show that even if you are completely lost, you can always find your way and it's never too late — which, I was blessed with a second chance in my life." Jonas and Linn Berggren Since the end of the band, two have stepped back away from the public eye with Linn in particular staying away from the spotlight of fame. Jonas made a very brief appearance at an event covered at the end of the documentary, while Linn chose to write a letter which Jenny reads in the final episode. The band however did come back together for a one-off reunion on their 30th anniversary. To the delight of many fans, they came back to headline the 90s Nostalgic Electric Circus festival in Canada dressed up in black lace and flower-inspired outfits.

Triple Coronation Street exit shock as end of an era is confirmed
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video For 25 years Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) has been a fixture in Coronation Street. The popular character has been through a huge amount of drama in that time, including raising two sons, being mother hen to numerous lodgers at number 11, enjoying/enduring a rivalry with Gail Platt (Helen Worth) and being married to a killer. But with Sue Cleaver having taken the decision to 'Embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly' by moving on from the soap, Eileen's exit is fast approaching. Her final storyline saw the return of Katy Cavanagh as Eileen's sister Julie Carp. It was soon revealed that Julie was dealing with a terminal illness and didn't have long to live, and viewers have recently seen the sad scenes where Eileen returned to her sister with a cup of tea while they were on a day out to a beauty spot, only to find that Julie had died while she was gone. Julie's funeral brought another returnee in the form of Ryan Thomas as Eileen's son Jason. And in upcoming episodes we'll see Jason make Eileen a tempting offer. He's been living in Thailand since he left Weatherfield, and he suggests that Eileen could come back with him and be his business partner. Eileen's immediate reaction is that her partner, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), would never want to move to Thailand. Eileen has been struggling with her feelings for George recently, at one moment not sure she loves him but the next moment saying that she wants her future to be with him. Julie certainly thought that Eileen was selling herself short by settling for a relationship with George. But it seems that her decision about whether to accept Jason's offer hinges on George and he surprises her, saying that he's prepared to move his life to the other side of the world to be with her. In fact he's booked them a holiday to Thailand – leaving the very next day – so they can see if life there would suit them. Eileen's other son, Todd (Gareth Pierce) has recently embarked on a relationship with a man called Theo (James Cartwright), who's been struggling with his sexuality. Theo's daughter Millie has been staying at Eileen's briefly, and when she has to go home she tells Theo she wants him to move beck in with her and her mum. More Trending Theo replies that he wants to be with Todd and can't live a lie any more. His words give Eileen cause to reflect again about her feelings for George and whether she's settling for a relationship she's not really feeling.
