Madani Community Service Strengthens Human Values, Fosters Spirit Of Volunteerism
Deputy Minister of Communications Teo Nie Ching said the programme places emphasis on efforts to improve community well-being through the active involvement of the people in various community activities and local development.
'Through the MADANI Community Service, which is driven by the Information Department (JaPen), the community not only receives accurate and authentic information, but is also given the opportunity to play a role as an information agent and effectively convey government policies or initiatives or current issues,' she said at the MADANI Community Service programme at Taman Tun Sulaiman Ninam Shah, here today.
According to Teo, the programme, which was also a pocket programme held in conjunction with the launch of the 2025 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign in Bandar Maharani, had gathered more than 700 participants.
She said the participation thus gave a positive sign that the community welcomed the volunteerism-based initiative, which was able to move the community to be more aware, caring and united.
Teo also called on the public to come and enliven the launch of the 2025 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Dataran Tanjung Emas tomorrow.
'This launching ceremony aims to further boost the spirit of love for the country and appreciation of the meaning of independence among the people,' she said.
Meanwhile, the deputy minister said that the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM2025) celebrations, themed Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni, reflect the government's stance, which always puts the people first, treats, listens to and protects the welfare of all levels of society.
Apart from gotong royong, the MADANI Community Service activities include a motorcycle oil change programme, free haircuts, e-Sports and asam pedas cooking competitions as well as lucky draws.

Extremists Exploiting Religion For Political Gain Must Be Condemned
KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 (Bernama) -- Those who inherit the ideology and thinking of the Khawarij (extremists), and continue to incite hatred in the name of God for political gain, must be strongly condemned and firmly opposed by all quarters, said Political Secretary to the Finance Minister, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim. He said that such extremist factions must be rejected by all who wish to see the country protected from the threat of extremist and radical elements. 'Praying for the destruction of fellow Muslims reflects a radical mindset that will ruin and divide the ummah. bootstrap slideshow 'Clearly, this is a conduct of those who subscribe to the ideology of the Khawarij, perpetuating hatred in God's name for political gain,' he said in a post on X. On Saturday, rally-goers, including several opposition leaders, concluded the rally in the capital with a prayer that contained ill will directed at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Muhammad Kamil, who is also the chief of PKR's youth wing, Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK), said that religious imagery, such as wearing the kopiah (skull caps), is now being misused to influence public opinion. bootstrap slideshow 'The kopiah on one's head, which is meant to guide our conduct and behaviour, has sadly been reduced to a mere showpiece used to sway the minds of a confused and anxious society,' he added. He also cited the story of Abdul Rahman ibn Muljam, a man regarded as a devout worshipper, a master of the Quran, and known for his piety, yet chose to assassinate Sayyidina Ali, believing himself to be more Islamic and righteous than the Caliph. "This is a lesson from history that we must fully comprehend," he added.
