JAPEN expands Jalur Gemilang campaign to industrial sector
PUTRAJAYA: The Information Department (JAPEN), in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), will extend the '1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang' campaign to the industrial sector. This initiative aims to further enliven the spirit of the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. JAPEN's Communications and Community Development Service Division director Muhammad Najmi Mustapha said the collaboration will initially focus on selected petrol stations and supermarkets in the Klang Valley, with implementation set to begin in the near future. 'We (JAPEN) will expand this campaign not only within government agencies but also to the industrial sector, in cooperation with the KPDN,' he said. 'Together with KPDN, we will identify strategic locations such as petrol stations and selected supermarkets for the installation of the Jalur Gemilang,' he told reporters after presenting JAPEN's Jalur Gemilang Kit to the Putrajaya district police headquarters (IPD) here today. Muhammad Najmi said the '1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang' campaign aims to foster a sense of patriotism among the public, while ensuring that the patriotic spirit remains strong, symbolising the pride and unity of an independent nation. He said the campaign commenced following the launch of the 2025 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign in Muar, Johor on July 27, and will run until Sept 16. 'We are not only carrying out this campaign in Putrajaya, but nationwide through state-level JAPEN offices, with the involvement of 1,878 MADANI Communities across the country, including Sabah and Sarawak,' he said, adding that between 200 and 300 Jalur Gemilang flags will be distributed at each location. Meanwhile, Presint 11 Police Station chief Sub-Inspector Amir Jaafar described the collaborative campaign between JAPEN and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) as a meaningful initiative that not only fosters patriotism but also strengthens the relationship between PDRM and other government agencies. He noted that today's programme was highlighted by a symbolic convoy involving PDRM and JAPEN personnel, covering a distance of 6.8 kilometres from the Putrajaya IPD to the Presint 11 Police Station - representing the country's 68 years of independence. Amir added that the spirit of patriotism is clearly evident within the police quarters, as all 48 staff housing units at the Presint 11 Police Station have been proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang since last month in support of the National Month campaign. - Bernama

[Watch] Anwar Hits Back At Critics: 'Return Stolen Billions Before Asking Me To Step Down'
Subscribe to our FREE Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has fired back at his political opponents, challenging corrupt leaders to return billions in allegedly stolen assets before demanding his resignation. Speaking at the launch of the 2025 National Day celebrations in Muar, Johor, on Sunday, Anwar aimed his remarks at politicians who, he said, use racial rhetoric to mask their corruption. 'Some political families have assets worth RM4 billion, others sit on RM1.2 billion in wealth, yet they shamelessly shout about 'defending the Malays',' Anwar said, without naming specific individuals. The Prime Minister called on these leaders to return their wealth to the state and the Malay community before claiming to be their defenders. 'How much do you have now? RM2 billion? Fine, return RM1.5 billion to the government and the Malays – that would be the right thing to do,' he said. Witty Response to Calls for Resignation When faced with chants of 'Anwar Turun' (Anwar step down), the Prime Minister responded with humour. Anwar said he had already 'turun ke Muar' (come down to Muar), drawing laughter from the crowd. He also appeared to reference recent calls for his resignation, saying those demanding he step down should first return the billions they allegedly took from the people. 'Billions of ringgit is a huge amount that must be returned to the country and its people,' he said. Anti-Corruption Drive Not About Revenge The Prime Minister emphasised that his administration's anti-corruption efforts are aimed at cleaning up the country, not seeking revenge. He stressed that national and state leaders must not steal from the people and the country, and must uphold their responsibilities to both the public and to God. 'Times have changed. We must correct the behaviour of some leaders who abuse their power for personal and family gain, so that our next generation can have a better future,' Anwar said. The 'Turun Anwar' rally held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (26 July) saw an estimated 18,000 participants calling for Anwar's resignation. Former prime minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin attended the rally. Dr. Mahathir made several comments aimed at Anwar during the 'Turun Anwar' rally, which entertained the crowd significantly. READ MORE : Share your thoughts with us via TRP's . MUAR: The federal government has approved an allocation of RM10 million to implement various development projects in the district, aimed at enhancing the well-being of the people and stimulating the local economy. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the funds would be disbursed immediately to ensure that Muar residents can begin reaping the benefits in the near future. "The government wants the people of Muar to enjoy balanced development. Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said the implementation of the projects would be coordinated by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister's Department together with the Muar District Office. Earlier, Onn Hafiz expressed his appreciation to the government for selecting Muar as the host of the 2025 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign launch. "Muar is a place where the history of independence was shaped and is the birthplace of key figures who paved the way for nation-building, including Datuk Onn Jaafar, Tan Sri Mohamed Noah Omar, and Abdul Majid Salleh. "When Johor, particularly Muar, is chosen, I believe it is not a coincidence but a recognition of its historical significance," he said. After launching the event, Anwar also flagged off the 2025 Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy, involving 88 land vehicles and 66 water transport assets, with more than 300 participants in total. The convoy will carry the Jalur Gemilang flag across the country, passing through 88 checkpoints (44 in Peninsular Malaysia, 20 in Sabah, 22 in Sarawak, and two in the Federal Territory of Labuan) before concluding at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31, the venue for the 2025 National Day celebration.
