Legal Action Over ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' Leaks Begins Soon

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
While Ufotable and others behind the film are celebrating the historic success of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie in Japan, the film has begun leaking all across the internet, prompting a response that relays how serious this is being taken.
In a new post on the official 3 million follower Demon Slayer account, a lengthy statement was prepared addressing the issues of piracy and leaks, and how vulnerable accounts that share these leaks are. Here's the statement in full:
'We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for their incredible excitement and support for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle.
However, we have recently become aware of unauthorized recordings, uploads, and online distribution of the film. These activities constitute a serious violation of copyright law and other applicable laws and regulations.
We will pursue strict legal action, including civil and criminal measures, against such activities such as piracy and illegal uploads. Even those posting anonymously can be identified and will be held liable.
Such illegal activities not only harm the experience of our loyal fans who support the film, but also undermine the immense hard work, creativity, and resources we have dedicated to the film. We strongly encourage everyone to experience the film legitimately at movie theaters.
We will take appropriate measures to protect our copyrighted work and to ensure that all audiences can enjoy the films as intended. We kindly ask for your continued understanding and cooperation.'
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
There have been countless clips shared of the film, some from pirated copies, some from screen records in Japan. While all movies are pirated to some extent in vast torrent networks and streaming sites, this practice is being amplified by the fact that the film was only released in Japan at its initial premiere, and other regions, including the US, have to wait two months after that in order for the film to reach our shores. Not that this justifies doing anything illegal, but it's likely encouraging this practice.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1, the first film in the series-ending trilogy, demolished its own records from the Mugen Train release with $50 million in receipts in its first 4 days in Japan. That would be a solid performance in the US at almost triple the population. Mugen Train went on to make almost a half a billion dollars globally, and if the trend continues, Infinity Castle will likely make hundreds of millions more than that.
Lawsuits seem like they'll be coming soon, and even with anonymous or burner accounts, the company seems determined to unmask these leak-sharers, so I hope you took that into account when posting clips. We'll see what happens next and if there are any further updates about what's going on with the leaks, which will only be amplified in the next few months as other regions slowly get the film. As a reminder, here are the global release dates:

When Is Body Horror Thriller ‘Together' Coming To Streaming?

Together — a body horror thriller starring Dave Franco And Alison Brie — is new in theaters. When will it be available to watch at home? Together opened in theaters on July 30. The official summary for the movie reads, 'Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. 'With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love and their flesh.' Written and directed by Michael Shanks, Together also stars Damon Herriman. When Together comes to the home entertainment market, the first place it will be available is on digital streaming via premium video on demand. Generally, Together's studio, Neon, has a six-week window between the time its films open in theaters and debut on PVOD. For example, Neon's hit horror comedy The Monkey debuted on PVOD on April 4, just under six weeks after it opened in theaters on Feb. 21. More recently, Neon's sci-fi fantasy drama The Life of Chuck arrived on PVOD on July 29, about six weeks after it opened wide in theaters on June 13. If Together follows the same release pattern, viewers can expect to purchase or rent Together on PVOD on or around Sept. 9, since new films on PVOD are generally released on Tuesdays. Which Streaming Service Will Get 'Together' First? Since Neon has a deal with the platform, Together will make its debut on Hulu when it arrives on streaming video on demand. Generally, it takes anywhere from four and a half months to five and a half months for Neon releases to arrive on Hulu. For example, Neon's Best Picture Oscar winner Anora, which expanded to a wide release in theaters on Nov. 8, 2024, arrived on Hulu just under four and a half months later, on March 17. However, Neon's hit horror comedy thriller The Monkey, which opened in theaters on Feb. 21, will finally make its SVOD debut on Hulu on Aug. 7, which marks a five and a half month stretch between its theatrical and Hulu release. Should Together follow the same release pattern, viewers can expect the film to debut on Hulu anytime between Dec. 12 and Jan. 12, 2026. Unlike other streaming platforms, new Neon film releases on Hulu aren't relegated to a specific day. Rated R, Together is new in theaters nationwide.

‘Mafia: The Old Country' Is Bringing Back Something Gamers Want

I've heard a lot of chatter lately about a certain kind of nostalgia, one that yearns for a particular era of gaming—let's call it when the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 reigned supreme. This was a time when games were typically far more digestible (10-20-ish hours to fully complete), had little padding and also sported lower price tags, usually somewhere in the $50-60 range for many AAA titles. I'm talking about notable marquee experiences like Uncharted or Halo 3 or Gears of War. Today, the same sort of games usually start at $70 and go up from there: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, for example. Astro Bot did launch at $60, so kudos to Sony for being pro-consumer there, and the polished 3D platformer is worth every penny, in my humble opinion. Still, you'll pay $80 for a standalone copy of Mario Kart World on Nintendo's Switch 2, although to be fair, I remember paying $70-90 at retail for Super Nintendo games back in the early '90s, and $40-70 for original PlayStation titles during roughly the same time period, so perhaps games have gotten relatively cheaper over the years. Or at the very worst, they've stayed around the same price. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Yes, modern game budgets have ballooned out of control, so I guess the money needs to be made up somewhere, but this occurs in an industry that habitually, routinely, even flippantly I'd argue, lays off its talent in sweeping, impersonal waves. Of course, this is happening while publishers make billions of dollars from the hard work. I'll blame AI for now, and greedy executives, too. But maybe, just maybe, we're finally self-correcting and heading in a slightly healthier direction. 2K's upcoming franchise prequel, Mafia: The Old Country, is launching on August 8 for a reasonable and rather old-school $49.99, $10 less than the aforementioned first-party Astro Bot. Is the game AAA in quality? I suppose that judgement is subjective, but from the preliminary footage, it certainly looks to be the case. According to IGN, who published a solid (if somewhat spoiler-filled) hands-on preview of The Old Country, the $50 asking price isn't the only return-to-form aspect of the game. The newest Mafia entry ditches Mafia III's notably out-of-character pivot into open world gameplay and returns to the series narrative-driven, linear approach. One could posit that the industry's general obsession with open world premises and hyper-realistic visuals has outright lead to the problematic budgets I previously mentioned, so positioning The Old Country as a game which sports perfectly acceptable graphics and a campaign that won't take you three months to complete… well, this could please a lot of gamers, including myself. As IGN's Ryan McCaffrey touches on in the video preview, a lot of us aging gamers have children now, as well as jobs and obligations and busy lives. Thus, 40-plus hour adventures just don't hit the way they used to, don't boast the same kind of appeal. There's no official word yet from developer Hangar 13 on The Old Country's overall length, but the welcome throwback vibe is already apparent. This will likely be a game that you can play through in a weekend or two, or in short spurts during evenings after work and getting the kids to bed. Combine this with a potentially engaging story and that attractive $50 price tag, and 2K could have a winning formula on its hands, one that harkens back to an era when I wasn't worried about the mortgage or kindergarten or doing the dishes. Speaking of, I need to get back to scrubbing.
