The dramatic moment police saved the life of a woman after she became trapped in a unit which caught fire has been revealed, with officers smashing down walls in the burning building in order to rescue her.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Percy St in Townsville's West End shortly after 9pm after reports a number of units were on fire.
By the time police arrived, the fire had spread to a second unit, where a woman, 54, was living.
In footage released by Queensland Police, the woman can be heard screaming as the fire engulfs her property, leaving her trapped inside.
'I just had someone screaming in here,' an officer says in the terrifying footage.
One begins kicking the door to the unit, but when it fails to give way another officer to launches his body at the side of the wall, knocking it down.
The woman can be heard yelling as police throw garbage bins out of the way.
Officers cough and splutter as they tried to gain entry, with one saying they 'can't breathe' as smoke fills the property.
Officers can be heard shouting: 'Where are you, dear?' and 'Follow me!'
The woman was safely escorted from the unit by police.
She suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Townsville University Hospital for treatment.
The officers also sustained minor smoke inhalation and were treated at Townsville University Hospital.
They have since been discharged.
'The cause of the fire is under investigation,' Queensland Police said in a statement, who are classifying it as 'suspicious'.
Anyone with information or footage of the fire is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Disney Cruise Child Who Went Overboard Was Sitting on Railing, Sheriff Says

The little girl who fell overboard on a recent Disney Dream cruise, prompting her father to dive in and save her ... was, in fact, sitting on a railing before the almost-tragic accident. A rep for the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Florida tells TMZ ... the 5-year-old girl was sitting on a railing and lost her balance, then fell backward through a porthole -- and her father immediately jumped into the water after her. Authorities estimate it was only 20 minutes between the child's fall and the successful rescue of father and daughter ... and the sheriff's office praised the Disney crew for their quick reaction and life-saving efforts. As we reported ... the Disney Dream ship was forced to turn around Sunday as it cruised back to Fort Lauderdale from the Bahamas. We now know that the dad was hospitalized with unknown injuries after the ship arrived at Port Everglades ... but overall, the girl and father are fine -- the sheriff's office noting, "This family is so blessed." The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are still piecing together what happened -- but the sheriff's office says ... detectives have reviewed the ship's security video, which corroborates the statements from the family and cruise ship staff.

Man Attempts to Set Fire to a Melbourne Synagogue

A man tried to set a centuries-old synagogue in East Melbourne, Australia, on fire on Friday, officials said, the latest in a spell of anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim incidents in the country since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. None of the approximately 20 people who were inside the synagogue were injured, according to statement from the police in the state of Victoria, of which Melbourne is the capital. Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and cleared a small blaze that damaged the synagogue's front door, the Victoria fire department said. The attack came hours after tensions flared elsewhere in the center of Melbourne, as dozens of demonstrators rallied against what they called excessive security at local protests. The police said a group of 20 of the demonstrators walked to a restaurant and began 'shouting offensive chants' at people having dinner. The attack on Friday followed a larger attack on a synagogue in Melbourne in December. Charges have not been filed in that case.
