SEOUL: All seven members of K-Pop supergroup BTS are soon to complete their mandatory South Korean military service.
This is a highly anticipated moment for their loyal fans, or ARMY, especially with recent news reports indicating that RM and V are expected to conclude their service on June 10, followed by Jungkook and Jimin on June 11.
Suga is scheduled to finish his service on June 21.
Jin and J-Hope previously completed their military service last year.
This development has not only sparked excitement within the K-Pop industry but has also made a significant impact on the global music market.
Fans and industry observers are now eagerly awaiting an official announcement regarding BTS's return to full group activities, including details on the new musical direction and message the group will bring.
Throughout their enlistment period, the K-Pop group, which has won the American Music Awards (AMA) for five consecutive years, has maintained a strong connection with fans by releasing solo songs recorded in advance.
Notably, Jimin's single 'Who', released while he was serving, achieved a new record for a K-Pop artiste by remaining on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 33 weeks.
Similarly, 'LOST!', sung by RM, garnered international recognition, winning several accolades including awards at the Shark Music Video Awards and Sislope Festival.
Their management company, HYBE, has repeatedly confirmed that BTS will resume group activities once all members have completed their military training, and preparations for their comeback are currently underway.
BTS's last group album was 'Proof', released in 2022, while their last concert, 'Yet To Come', took place in Busan in October of the same year.
BTS also made a global impact through their 'Love Yourself' series from 2017 to 2018, which conveyed a message of self-love that remains relevant and continues to resonate with millions of fans worldwide to this day.

(Video) Mandopop Icon Jay Chou Mobbed By Fans While Sightseeing In Japan
It can be hard to travel comfortably when you're as popular as Jay Chou (周杰伦). The Mandopop icon has been travelling around Japan recently, but unfortunately, his trip hasn't been the most peaceful. Jay and his wife, Hannah Quinlivan (昆凌), recently visited Kyoto for work. While the couple were there, they took the opportunity to do some sightseeing. Joining the pair are Jay Chou's staff members and Japanese singer-actor Tomohisa Yamashita (山下 智久), who is a good friend of the Taiwanese singer. Together, the group went around the city, visiting popular tourist spots, including local temples and shrines. Given the popularity of the Mandopop and J-pop icons, a crowd will begin to form wherever the two go. Some fans even started following the stars and mobbing them as they walked down the streets of Kyoto. Unfortunately, the mobbing got so intense that Jay's makeup artist tripped and broke his leg. The 46-year-old singer went on Instagram to share the news and urged fans to maintain a safe distance in public to avoid another accident. According to reports, the makeup artist broke two bones and had to get a cast for his leg. Thankfully, it seemed he's recovering well despite the incident and is even cracking jokes about his fall. Jay also tried to make fun of the situation, jokingly asking fans if they had a photo of his makeup artist tripping. His odd request amused fans, who noted that it highlights their close friendship. Jay also didn't seem too pressed by the fans in Kyoto because he even stopped to take photos of some of them. In some videos, the star also appeared calm despite being surrounded by people. However, the mobbing did get a little crazy, and the crowds even gathered in front of a local restaurant where Jay and Yamashita Tomohisa were dining. Police officers were even called to the scene to maintain order. Many netizens have reacted to the situation, mostly praising Jay for remaining calm amidst the chaos. However, some urged the public not to crowd the star and allow him to enjoy his trip. What are your thoughts on this? TREASURE Fans Upset Over Alleged Mistreatment By Group's Recent KL Event Organiser
Last Friday (30th May), fans were over the moon as TREASURE members Park Jeongwoo (박정우), Doyoung (도영), Choi Hyunsuk (최현석), and Haruto (하루토/ハルト) made a special appearance at Sunway Pyramid for ecoBrown's BRICE with TREASURE event. Some lucky fans even managed to greet the idols at KLIA upon their arrival, on the same day EXO's Suho landed in Malaysia. Although the event itself appeared to be a success, things seemingly didn't go as smoothly when it came to managing the brand's contest winners, who were meant to meet the idols on stage. Here's what happened: On Wednesday (4th June), a fan took to Twitter to share their experience as one of the winners of ecoBrown's contest to meet TREASURE during the brand's recent BRICE Malaysia with TREASURE event. The user detailed the agreement they were required to sign and expressed frustration over several rules that, in their view, did not make sense. According to the screenshots of the guidelines shared, the organisers requested that fans refrain from taking photos or videos throughout the event, despite it being held in a public space. The user claimed that the brand had initially posted the same guidelines on social media, but later changed the caption to specify that the rule applied only to contest winners. This led to confusion, as the winners were positioned closer to the boy group and understandably had more opportunities to capture content. As if that weren't enough, the winners were reportedly not provided with chairs while waiting for the group photo session with the idols onstage. This detail can be verified, as members of the media, including Hype Malaysia, were seen standing beside the winners in the designated waiting zone. Another fan also shared their conversation with ecoBrown on Instagram, in which the brand explained that they had removed criticisms and complaints from their social media to avoid the risk of being blacklisted by K-artists for future events. The company further clarified that they were required to strictly enforce the rules and agreements set by TREASURE's management in order to ensure the artists' safety. The same day that the IG conversation circulated, BRICE Malaysia issued a statement to reiterate the explanation they had given to the user on the social media platform. However, the brand has yet to address the complaints about the day of the event itself and the alleged mistreatment towards the winners. Let's hope the next event featuring a K-pop idol will be a lot better.
