Why Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi Are Selling $30 Million U.K. Home
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have moved yet again.
Eight months after the former talk show host and her wife moved to the U.K., the pair are selling their Cotswolds mansion and have relocated to another nearby home in order to accommodate Portia's animals.
'When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn't live without her horses,' Ellen told The Wall Street Journal in a statement published July 22. 'We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.'
The comedian and Arrested Development actress are now in the process of selling Kitesbridge Farm, their 43-acre estate in the English countryside.
Ellen and Portia purchased the property for about $20 million in the spring of 2024 and performed extensive renovations, because the farm was 'quite tired, with a quite basic finish,' listing agent Andrew Barnes told the Journal.
Now, Kitesbridge Farm—which includes a heated indoor swimming pool, gym and party barn with its own pub—is on the market for about $30 million.

Earlier this month, the Finding Dory star confirmed that, despite initially planning to live part-time in the U.K., the pair decided to permanently take up residence following the re-election of President Donald Trump.
"We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in'," Ellen said during a July 20 public appearance in Cheltenham, England, per the BBC. "And we're like, 'We're staying here.'"
Plus, the comedian and her wife—who celebrated 20 years together in March—love the country.
"It's absolutely beautiful," she continued. "We're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture—everything you see is charming and it's just a simpler way of life.'

Ozzy Osbourne fans remember Birmingham star who was ‘a big part of our lives'
Fans of Ozzy Osbourne have paid tribute to the Birmingham music star who they say was 'a big part of our lives'. The heavy metal vocalist, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, died at the age of 76 on Tuesday morning surrounded by his family. Christine Turner, from the Hodge Hill area of Birmingham, wore her Aston Villa football shirt to pay tribute to Osbourne at the Black Sabbath mural in the city. She said her father was a childhood friend of the rock star and they used to play football together in Lodge Road, where they grew up. She told the PA news agency: 'He has been a big part of our lives, my dad was childhood best mates with him, so I've come up to pay my respects.' When asked how she felt when she heard he had died, she said: 'Shocked. I think deep in our hearts we knew it was coming, but it was still a shock last night. 'I was supposed to have done the washing last night but it didn't get done after I found out at about quarter past seven. 'I was upset, tears were shed last night.' Jimmy Smith, from Bristol, who was in the city to visit the Ozzy Osbourne exhibition at Birmingham Museum, stopped at the scene on Wednesday morning to pay his respects. He told PA: 'I did like Ozzy, I saw him a few times back in the day. It was quite sad yesterday (when he died), but with the concert at Villa Park a few weeks back, I had a feeling it was coming. It felt like his final bow. 'I was up here a few weeks ago for the Iron Maiden concert so I knew the mural was here, so I thought I would come and have a look, and I'll also go to the Black Sabbath bridge before going to the museum.' Two Black Sabbath fans from King's Norton jumped on a train to visit the mural of the band in Birmingham to pay their respects to Osbourne following his death. Megan and Mia, who did not want to give their surnames, said they wished they had been able to go to Osbourne's last show at Villa Park on July 5. Megan said: 'It was really sad and heart-breaking (to hear he had died), I think I was expecting it to happen soon but not that quick.' When asked how it felt to visit the mural after Ozzy's death, Mia said: 'It's surreal but it's nice that people have put flowers out.' Mia added that she believed the next Aston Villa football game would be 'even more packed than usual' in Osbourne's memory. She said: 'I know there will be some form of respects paid to him at the game, definitely.' Osbourne played a final farewell concert in front of a home crowd at Villa Park earlier in the month. Black Sabbath were the last to appear on stage as part of a star-studded line-up for the Back To The Beginning concert that took place not far from the Crown pub where they played their first gig in 1968. Also paying his respects was Black Sabbath's first manager, Jim Simpson, who spoke on Broad Street, where dozens of fans had gathered to pay tribute to the rock legend. When asked how he felt when he heard the news Osbourne had died, Mr Simpson said: 'Deep sadness, but no surprise, because it's been on the cards for quite a long time. 'He even said beforehand that he expected to die on the stage at the July the fifth show at Villa Park. The world's lost an inordinately nice, balanced, human being.' Referencing the amount of people who had turned up to pay tribute to Osbourne following his death, he said: 'The fact is, there are people here who are 80 years of age or eight years of age and all stages in between and it shows he had a remarkable way of contacting people. 'It has been 55 years and still (Black Sabbath) are more popular than ever. 'It is remarkable and they have all done a great job and they should be proud of themselves.' Black Sabbath, comprised of vocalist Osbourne, drummer Bill Ward, guitarist Tony Iommi, and bassist Terence 'Geezer' Butler, formed in 1968 and were credited with shaping the heavy metal genre. The group were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and Osbourne was added for a second time, as a solo artist, last year. In the noughties he featured in MTV series The Osbournes, which followed the lives of him, his wife Sharon and two of their children, Kelly and Jack.

Bizarre Trisha Paytas Baby Theory Goes Viral After Ozzy Osbourne's Death
The internet is a weird, wild place. The latest example: A strange and illogical meme that correlates the births of YouTube creator and podcaster Trisha Paytas' children with the deaths of prominent figures — and that Paytas' kids are the reincarnation of the recently departed — went viral after news that legendary heavy-metal icon Ozzy Osbourne had died. The 'Trisha Paytas baby theory' first cropped up in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 8 of that year, with Paytas' daughter Malibu Barbie born less than a week later (Sept. 14). The 2024 birth of Paytas' second daughter, Elvis, didn't actually line up with any famous death — but, showing how resilient conspiracy theories can be, users have somehow tied the second baby to Pope Francis, who died April 21, 2025. News of the death of Osbourne hit around the same time. The magic number of three — however coincidental and inaccurate — was too much for the internet to resist. 'Ozzy, is that you?' says the top comment on Paytas' announcement of Aquaman's birth. 'Trisha paytas is 3 for 3 omg,' an X user said Tuesday in a post, which has over 9 million views. As of Wednesday morning, 'Trisha' was the No. 5 trending topic on X and 'Trisha Paytas baby theory' was the No. 8 trending search term on Google. Grok, the AI chatbot integrated with X, said in explaining the meme, the deaths and Paytas' childbirths are 'pure coincidence, but internet lore loves it.' Variety has reached out to Paytas' team for comment. Paytas has previously addressed the theory on their podcast, saying, 'I just don't get it,' per Newsweek. 'Is it just any influential person that dies get to come reincarnated as my baby? … I don't understand why my womb is carrying all of these souls.' Camilla finds my royal tattoos ‘hilarious', says superfan
The Queen met a royal superfan who has endured hours of pain being inked with tattoos dedicated to the monarchy. Camilla joked with Phil Smith when he showed her his latest body art by sticking out his left leg covered in royal monograms. The two met at the annual Sandringham Flower Show where the King and Queen toured the exhibition tents viewing winners in flower arranging, vegetable produce and baking Phil Smith, 61, said he first had the late Queen's cypher tattooed on his leg, then above it Charles's monogram followed by Camilla's emblem and then 18 months ago the King and Queen's cyphers entwined were inked on his lower thigh. After showing her the newest tattoo he said: 'She finds it hilarious.' He added: 'That was probably about an hour and a half (to ink), but it was bloody painful'. 'I've been corresponding with the Queen since before they got married – we hit it off.' Hundreds of well-wishers stood behind crash barriers waiting to meet the royal couple with many shouting goodwill messages for Charles, who is receiving ongoing cancer care and who missed the last year's event. The King joked about his appearance after he was complemented on how well he was looking by a number of well-wishers. Maria and Graham Sharples from Spalding, Lincolnshire, who regularly visit the show, called out to the King saying: 'We missed you last year, you look very well.' Mrs Sharples said: 'He came over and said 'it's all done with mirrors'.' Later, Irene Lane shouted to the King: 'Good to see you're back this year, praying for your good health,' and when she repeated the phrase to the Queen, Camilla made the crowd laugh when she said 'touch wood' and tapped her head.
