LPA outside PAR now a tropical depression —PAGASA
The state weather bureau said it monitored the development as of 8 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2025.
At 2 p.m., the LPA was located 2,530 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.
PAGASA said the LPA has a 'high' chance of becoming a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
For now, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are expected to affect the weather conditions in several areas across the country, according to the state weather bureau's 4 p.m. weather forecast.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will persist over the over Davao Region and Surigao del Sur due to the ITCZ.
Metro Manila, CALABARZON, SOCCSKSARGEN, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will see the same weather conditions due to the Habagat.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides.
The Habagat will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and the rest of Central Luzon and MIMAROPA.
The same weather conditions will be observed throughout the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.—LDF, GMA Integrated News

This is equivalent to 2,599,712 families, the NDRRMC said in its situational report. Of this number, 7,524 families or 28,703 persons were served inside 273 evacuation centers, while 12,004 families or 40,729 persons were served outside evacuation centers. The reported death toll due to weather disturbances' combined effects was at 37, with five already validated and 32 still for validation. Injuries numbered 32, with 24 validated and eight still to be validated. Meanwhile, of the eight reported missing, four have already been validated, while four others are still for validation. The NDRRMC also said 815 road sections and 43 bridges were affected. There were 88,492 houses damaged in Region 1, Region 2, CAR, Region 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, NIR, Region 7, Region 9, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA, BARMM. Damage to agriculture was estimated to cost P3,159,733,667.11 representing production loss. A total of 98,307 farmers and fisherfolk were affected. Infrastructure damage was pegged at P16,506,257,464.1, with affected regions as follows: Region 1, Region 2, CAR, Region 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, NIR, Region 10, Region 12. Cloudy skies, rain showers expected due to Habagat
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to affect the country, PAGASA said in its weather forecast early Saturday morning. MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, the Bicol Region, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate along with slight to moderate seas. Fabian leaves PAR as PAGASA monitors Tropical Storm Podul
Tropical Depression Fabian exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA. Fabian, the sixth tropical cyclone to enter the PAR this year, is expected to weaken into a low pressure area. Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring Tropical Storm Podul, which may enter the PAR between late Sunday evening and early Monday morning. At 10 p.m. Friday, Podul was located 2,315 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon, carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h. It was moving west northwestward at 15 km/h. ''Podul is less likely to directly affect the weather and sea conditions in the country within the next five days,'' PAGASA said. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
