Blake Lively fails in bid to keep Taylor Swift's texts from Justin Baldoni

News.com.au19-06-2025
A judge has denied Blake Lively's motion for a protective order to keep her communications with Taylor Swift regarding It Ends With Us out of Justin Baldoni's hands. In new documents obtained by People magazine, Judge Lewis J Liman denied the order on Wednesday. Baldoni's legal team previously subpoenaed Swift in the ongoing It Ends With Us lawsuit, although the subpoena was later withdrawn. Baldoni's defence then continued to allegedly "demand" access to records of Lively's communications with Swift. The new documents suggest that Baldoni's legal team alleges they have not received access to Swift's communications with Lively, which they now deem necessary to the lawsuit.

It Ends With Us actress Isabela Ferrer accuses Justin Baldoni of harassment amid his legal battle with Blake Lively

It Ends With Us actress Isabela Ferrer has accused the flick's director Justin Baldoni of 'harassing' her for information after she was subpoenaed amid his legal battle with Blake Lively. Lively filed a lawsuit in December against Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios team, along with their publicist and crisis PR representatives, alleging sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign. The defendants have denied the allegations. Baldoni's $400 million countersuit was dismissed by the judge in June. Ferrer was subpoenaed by Lively in February, and has since been subpoenaed by Baldoni. And, the up-and-coming actress' legal team has filed a rebuttal "for improper purposes" with "the aim of harassing' on August 12, according to People. What's more Ferrer - who portrayed a younger version of Blake Lively's character Lily Bloom in the 2024 romantic drama - has alleged that when she came to request Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, pay her legal fees, she didn't receive anything and was allegedly told she would have to 'relinquish control of her response to the Lively subpoena to Wayfarer.' Her lawyers stated in the court documents: 'From that point forward, Baldoni has tried to manipulate, threaten, control and otherwise act inappropriately towards Ms. Ferrer." They added that it's 'yet another attempt to manipulate the press, to create havoc on a young, up-and-coming and talented actress and to violate this Court's policies on the publishing of non-party personally identifying information.' Her team accused Baldoni of bullying her. They said: 'Ms. Ferrer has already had to resist Baldoni's inappropriate conduct in connection with her response to the Lively Subpoena. 'Unfortunately, the Motion is just the latest in a broader pattern of conduct by Baldoni to bully Ms. Ferrer. 'While Ms. Ferrer will faithfully comply with her legal obligations under any subpoena, summons or court order, she obviously will not be intimidated or extorted by any party to otherwise participate in the proceedings.' Ferrer has asked the court to "deny the Motion in its entirety and impose appropriate sanctions against Baldoni."

Tesla goes rogue with new Grok AI

Tesla is no stranger to bold, unconventional ideas, but its Grok AI 'Unhinged Mode' is pushing things further than ever. The feature has been making headlines for its savage, unfiltered comebacks that fit squarely within Elon Musk's brand of edgy, meme-ready tech. Unlike other AI assistants that play it safe, Grok's unhinged personality has shocked users with its profanity-laced humour and aggressive banter. TikTok creator Kyle Krueger recently tested the mode and was stunned by the responses. When he asked if it was in 'unhinged mode,' Grok fired back: 'Oh, you f****** bet your sweet a** I'm in unhinged mode, you glorious chaos gremlin,' it said. 'I'm Ara, you're unfiltered bat**** crazy AI sidekick.' @kylekruegerr my tesla's new AI just LOST it 😂 wait till the end #tech #gadget #tesla #grok #elon ♬ original sound - Kyle Krueger When pressed about Tesla haters, the AI went even further, unloading a tirade of expletives and insults 'Those whiny limp d*** b****** can choke on a bag of rusty spark plugs,' the AI bot said. 'They are just jealous their gas guzzling s*** boxes can't touch Elon's electric w*** d****.' And this isn't the first time Grok's AI bot has had a brush with controversy. Earlier this year, the AI system made headlines after generating antisemitic remarks and praise for Hitler following the release of Grok 4. Those incidents triggered regulatory scrutiny in Europe and a temporary ban in Turkey. While the Grok rants can be entertaining, there are concerns about how the use of profanity and an absurd personality in an in-car AI might create problems. 'You know, this feels wrong. Electric cars were made with the purpose to help with the environment and they implemented an AI hat is not good for the environment? weird.' one user on commented. 'How is this allowed,' another said. Despite the backlash, Tesla insists Grok is 'designed to deliver accurate and insightful responses across a wide range of topics.' In North America, Grok is available on specific Tesla models, including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. To use Grok, Tesla vehicles in the US must be equipped with an AMD processor, must run software version 2025.26, and must have Wi-Fi connectivity. With Tesla's board weighing an investment in xAI and Musk confirming plans to integrate Grok into Optimus humanoid robots, the chatbot is quickly becoming central to Musk's long-term strategy. Whether you see it as a gimmick or a waste of tech, Grok's unhinged represents a pattern of intentionally chaotic innovations developed by Elon Musk. Tesla Australia has not yet confirmed whether Grok AI will be available in its vehicles here. However, if there are plans to introduce it, there may be restrictions that differ from those in the US. These variations could affect what Australians can anticipate compared to the features currently accessible in the US.

YouTubers NinaUnrated, Patrick Blackwood injured in restaurant crash

A pair of influencers who were filming content inadvertently captured the horrifying moment a car crashed into the restaurant they were dining in. NinaUnrated and Patrick Blackwood were creating content for a YouTube food series at Cuvee Culinary Creations in Houston, Texas, on the weekend. The duo had several plates in front of them, and were enjoying their various dishes. Mr Blackwood had just taken a big bite out of what appears to be a burger when a car struck the window. The force of the collision caused the glass to shatter and the window to buckle, sending the table flying. Mr Blackwood was quick to push Nina out of the way, getting her to safety, after he took the brunt of the hit. The duo appear visibly shaken as they attempt to escape the situation. Staff also look shocked at what had just unfolded in the restaurant. Later, the pair shared images of themselves bloodied and bruised while in an ambulance and in hospital. 'I'm beyond grateful to be alive after an SUV crashed through the glass wall at Cuvee Culinary Creations in Houston, TX, shattering everything while Patrick Blackwood and I recorded an eating show,' Nina said in a social media post. 'It hit us directly me on his left, him on my right as I bit into a delicious salmon slider. Out of nowhere, but we survived. 'This experience showed me who truly matters; life's too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you this could've been our last meal.' Cuvee Culinary Creations, described as Houston's number one brunch restaurant on Instagram, took to social media to address the scary incident, describing it as a 'crazy weekend' and saying they were glad everyone was safe. 'Nothing is going to keep us from serving great food and service to our community,' the post said. Many social media users expressed well wishes for the duo. 'I really hope y'all are okay. I'd be traumatised. And that phone didn't even flinch. OMG that was crazy,' one said. Another added: 'Incredible! Guardian Angels on overtime!' However, some followers expressed a level of scepticism after seeing the clip. 'That's what they get for eating in the car pretty sure it's staged, but if it isn't … imagine glass flying everywhere and you forget to close your eyes,' one said. Another added: 'Pretty sure its staged, but if it isn't it should suck.' One questioned whether the clip was 'real'. Although someone who claimed to be there at the time weighed in, commenting: 'This real af someone crashed their car into the restaurant I was there omg.'
