Gurgaon: Two policemen from Faridabad were awarded the police medal for meritorious service on Thursday, on the eve of the 79th
Independence Day
.
ACP Rajesh Kumar and sub-inspector Yashpal Singh received the medals.
Kumar is currently posted in Sarai, while Singh serves as the police spokesperson for the district.
Faridabad police commissioner extended congratulated Kumar and Singh for their remarkable service and dedication. "Both officers have consistently demonstrated exemplary commitment, honesty, and professionalism throughout their careers. Their notable contributions include effective crime control, fostering public coordination, and maintaining law and order in the region," said Faridabad police commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta.

The recognition reflects the commitment of Faridabad Police to upholding law and order and serving the community with integrity, he added.
Kumar joined as an assistant sub-inspector in 1994 and was promoted to assistant commissioner of police in 2013. He has also served in three UN missions in Kosovo (2008), Cyprus (2013), and South Sudan (2022). He said, "I am very happy that my country has recognised my service. My father had fought three wars for the country -- Indo Pakistan war of 1965, the 1971 India-Pakistan War, and the 1963 Sino India war."
Yashpal joined Haryana Police in 2000 as a constable. In 2007, he was promoted to head constable, in 2012 to assistant sub-inspector, and in 2019 to sub-inspector. He has served in Faridabad Police, the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the district, and the Police Training Centre, Bhondsi.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police raided a farmhouse in Moinabad on Thursday and busted an an illegally organised party and arrested 51 foreign nationals. Police said that the foreign nationals had stocked 90 IMFL bottles at the farmhouse without obtaining the necessary permission from the excise department. They were also disturbing the peace by playing loud music. "Upon inquiry, it was found that the farmhouse owner had not obtained permission from the local police for the gathering, music or alcohol," the police said. According to officials, the foreign nationals had arrived in India on various types of visa, including student and business visas. Police said that the immigration authorities had been informed to verify the authenticity and validity of the participants' stay in India. "Six women and nine men with valid documents had been released," added police. The others are still in police custody and have been served Restriction Orders by the Bureau of Immigration. "It was also revealed that two women and one man had previously consumed ganja," the police said, Police have registered a case against the management of the farmhouse for violating Excise Laws and failing to obtain police permission. Chennai: Alleging that he has been victimized for making a documentary series — Buddha and Dhamma — a Chennai-based Doordarshan cameraman has moved Madras high court challenging his transfer to Shimla. C Anandan had first moved the court and obtained a direction to the Doordarshan management to consider his representation to telecast the documentary and take a decision in six months. However, during the period, the channel transferred him to Shimla. Aggrieved, Anandan once again approached the high court challenging the transfer saying it had been done with a malafide intention and that it would affect the studies of his son, who is in Class X.
