Greenstone Lobo predicts winner of IND vs ENG series | Who Has the Astrological Edge? KL Rahul, anchoring the innings with a composed 137 off 247 balls, was at his vintage best. 'Was happy with the way I was batting in Australia… Unfortunately couldn't get big runs. I learnt there that once I get starts, I'll convert into big ones,' he said after the day's play. On his ever-evolving role in the batting order, he admitted: 'Last couple of years I have forgotten what position I am comfortable in. I am ready for whatever has been given to me. I have enjoyed my role as an opener the last couple of series.' Rahul also spoke about helping younger players adjust to English conditions. 'Everyone wants to learn, get better at their game. Whoever has come and spoken to me, we've had lengthy conversations. It was something that used to happen earlier also.' Despite India losing their last six wickets for 31 runs, they had done enough damage. England pacer Josh Tongue, who triggered India's late collapse, said: 'It's a shame I couldn't get the hat-trick… but the dressing room is very positive. We have a very good batting order.' India vs England Test: 'Defies logic, but...': Ravi Shastri hails Rishabh Pant following smashing century at Leeds
Rishabh Pant in action against England on Day 4 (Image via Getty) Ravi Shastri was all praise for Rishabh Pant 's fearless counter-attack at Headingley, describing the India vice-captain's second-innings century as proof of a 'sharp cricket brain' hidden beneath his showmanship. Pant's aggressive 118 off 140 balls, featuring 15 fours and three sixes, turned the tide after an early wobble on Day 4 and, combined with KL Rahul's composed 137, powered India to a commanding position, setting a 371-run target for England to win. The duo's 195-run partnership not only frustrated England's bowlers but also showcased the perfect blend of technique and firepower that has become this team's hallmark overseas. Speaking on Sky Sports, Shastri highlighted how Pant's batting, though often branded reckless, is far more calculated than people assume. ' People say Pant's batting defies logic, but there is an element of a sharp cricket brain behind it. He knows when to counterattack ,' Shastri said, adding that India will be delighted with the way Rahul's technical solidity complemented Pant's fireworks. " There is plenty of food for thought, but India will be very happy after a technical masterpiece from Rahul and the flamboyance and exuberance that you can imagine from Pant ," he added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Luxury Meets Lifestyle at Godrej Majesty, Greater Noida Godrej Noida Book Now Undo Greenstone Lobo predicts winner of IND vs ENG series | Who Has the Astrological Edge? Shastri also rued Pant's tendency to miss out on bigger milestones, pointing out he could already have a double-digit count of Test centuries if not for seven dismissals in the 90s. While Pant's knock ended when he miscued Shoaib Bashir straight to Zak Crawley , Rahul held firm for longer at the other end, ensuring India tightened their grip heading into the final day. Poll Do you believe Rishabh Pant's aggressive style is a liability? Yes, it's too reckless No, it's calculated After India were bowled out for 364, England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett have managed to help England to 21 runs in six overs without the loss of a wicket.
