When it became eerily quiet in her household, Iliana Carroll went to check on her kids, but she was left speechless after seeing how her daughter and cat were bonding.
Carroll, who is known on Instagram as @ilianacarroll_, went around the house searching for her daughter after she noticed it became a bit too "quiet." Red flags went off that she could be up to no good. However, her July 4 Instagram video revealed the opposite.
She walked into a bonding moment between her daughter and the family's 2-year-old calico cat, Sparks. Her daughter sat at her desk with Sparks plopped on top. Sparks was there for a makeover. Her daughter used a brush and started rubbing it on the cat, pretending to put on makeup on her.
The two besties wore matching headbands in celebration of the Fourth of July, which Carroll revealed in the comment section was supposed to be hers, but her daughter gave it to the cat instead, a typical occurrence as these two are attached at the hip.
"From the moment Sparks came home as a tiny kitten, the two of them have been absolutely inseparable," Carroll told Newsweek via Instagram. "Their bond is something special, playful, patient and full of love. My husband and I always say Sparks doesn't see our daughter as just her human. She sees her as Mom."
The caption assured viewers "no cats were harmed" during this heartwarming playdate.

Viewer Reactions
The Instagram video reached over 4.1 million views and 257,000 likes as of Tuesday, with a majority of viewers finding the interaction precious, but some flagged it as a potential hazard.
"So pretty. Kitty is such a good sport," wrote one user.
Someone joked: "Hey so, this is really bad for the cat. If you put makeup on her, she will see how beautiful she is, run away and become a famous model and makeup artist."
Another added: "If only you were actually paying attention to your kid, you would've noticed that she has some makeup skills and clearly the cat is serving face."
However, others expressed concern about the dangers of using makeup on the cat, especially that close to their eyes: "Not to mention the cat will ingest all of that makeup when cleaning. It's a super cute video, and in no way the kid's fault, but please make sure you cleaned up the kitty before they started bathing."

Model Erin McNaught Gives Update After Baby Boy's Brain Tumor Surgery

Originally appeared on E! Online Erin McNaught's baby boy is on the mend. The Australian model shared a health update on her 8-month-old son Obi after he was diagnosed with a large tumor on the right side of his brain. Alongside a video of her and boyfriend (real name Stasi Kotaras) comforting their child in the hospital, Erin wrote on Instagram July 14, "It's 1 month today since Obi had surgery to remove a massive brain tumor that he was only diagnosed with a few days prior." "Stas and I woke early, and while he went to the hospital, I stayed for a little while longer, trying to deal with what was about to happen," she recalled. "I stood on the balcony and watched the sunrise and sobbed so hard I couldn't breathe. The thought that this sunrise might be the last one we saw with him still here on this earth was unbearable." Fortunately, the 43-year-old said Obi "made it through the surgery" and the family was able to return to the balcony to watch the sunset. "Since then, Obi has blown us away with his recovery," Erin continued. "Day by day, achieving more and more. We still don't know what his future holds, but then again no one ever does. "He was having problems eating, sleeping and most recently, keeping his head straight," the influencer shared on Instagram June 11, explaining that Obi was diagnosed with a "large brain tumor on the right side of his brain" after getting an MRI scan. Obi underwent surgery shortly after his diagnosis, with the entire operation lasting a "terrifying" six hours, according to Erin. "For now we are just focusing on his recovery," she wrote on Instagram June 26. "To watch him laugh, play and observe the world again as a happy baby has brought us so much joy and although there is a long road ahead we are incredibly grateful he is no longer in pain." Moms Share the Most 'Unhinged' Things They Did After Having a Baby

When Lauren Nolan gave birth to her first child, Charlie, six months ago, she remembers feeling a bit "unhinged." "Postpartum hormones really threw me for a loop," she tells "That combined with an emergency C-section recovery and first time baby ... it's all very overwhelming." So the Chicago-based content creator decided to start a conversation with her followers based on a popular trend. "Moms — tell me the most unhinged thing you did freshly postpartum," she wrote on an Instagram reel on April 19. "Not like 'I cried a lot,' or, 'I only wore pjs.' I'm talking 'unhinged.'" And oh baby, did her audience deliver. She still receives comments on the reel every day. Here are a selection of our favorite responses: "I walked to the coffee shop down the street and realized I was wearing only the baby in the carrier on top. No shirt. No bra. Just the baby." "I was holding my daughter and dropped the remote control on her head while nursing her by accident. I then cried and laid on the couch and dropped the remote control on my own head a few times to see how bad it hurt. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫" "I dreamt that I had twins. I woke up in a panic because I couldn't find the other baby. Legit was looking for it for a good 15 minutes before I realized I only had the one baby." "Dialed 911 in a panic because I saw on the monitor that someone was standing over my baby's crib in the middle of the night. It was me. I was the one standing over the crib. 😭🫠" "Took the dog to the vet to get his nails clipped. Was wearing an eye patch for postpartum Bell's palsy. Forgot the dog at home." 'I woke up in the middle of the night with my 1-week-old at the time and had forgotten what I named him and started crying. I had to wake my husband up to ask him.' "Woke up one night nursing, burping and then rocking baby to sleep. Was about to put him back in the bassinet only to realize baby is asleep in the bassinet and I was nursing and burping my phone." "Shaved my head. One of my kids came home from elementary with lice 10 days after birth. I just shaved everyone's head cause I couldn't handle hours of combing four children." "I cried all day long because my 3-day-old baby didn't have any friends 😂" Though the vast majority of the comments are lighthearted, some touched on more troubling emotions that can follow childbirth. So, how do you know if your unhinged postpartum moments are normal or something more worrisome? Dr. Catherine Birndorf, a reproductive psychiatrist and co-founder of The Motherhood Center, tells when to reach out to a trusted medical professional. "A rapid drop in hormones after childbirth can cause you to do things you normally wouldn't do, which can be unnerving. In fact, 80% of people who give birth experience 'baby blues' in the first two weeks," Birndorf shares. "But I'm surprised more people don't lose it." Baby blues are "a non-pathological state, not an illness like postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety," she explains. Most of the comments Birndorf saw on the Instagram reel fit into the baby blues category, but if moms continue feeling "overwhelmed, mad, guilty or helpless" for more than two weeks, she says it is time to seek help. Nolan, who experienced what she describes as the "normal" amount of unhinged behavior, says that she found a lot of validation in reading the comments and hopes other new moms do too. 'You just grew a human and birthed a human, and then are taking care of a human, and as much as your partner wants to understand and support you, there's no way of explaining that to someone else who hasn't been through it,' she says. "Of course we're all crying. Of course we're all struggling. We're sleep deprived. We're recovering," she adds. Reading other women's stories "made me feel a lot less alone. It reminded me that every new mom feels that way." This article was originally published on

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham move toward reconciliation: ‘It's never over'

It seems Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham may be ready to move past their longstanding feud — and fans are taking notice. The former Fleetwood Mac musicians, who famously dated and broke up as the band recorded its 1977 album 'Rumours,' recently began following each other on Instagram. Though it may seem like a small gesture, those who have watched the tension between the former couple grow over the decades believe it's a monumental step. 'stevie nicks and lindsey buckingham following each other in the year of 2025, after their fallout is proof that it's NEVER OVER and you can have a 60-year-old situationship with your ex!' X user @ kajolswife wrote. The post has been viewed 1 million times and has received 38,000 likes since it was shared on Friday, July 11. Though it is unclear when exactly Nicks and Buckingham began following each other, the post notes that they weren't connected on social media as of three weeks ago. Several other fans online began expressing similar excitement about the detail on June 27. X user @RumoursEra shared a GIF of a man walking toward a group of athletes in a locker room with a smile on his face as they all begin to jump together in excitement. 'ME OPENING THIS APP TO FIND OUT FROM OOMFS THAT STEVIE AND LINDSEY FOLLOW EACH OTHER ON INSTAGRAM,' they captioned the post, shared on June 27. Later that day, Instagram user @stevienicksnation shared a screenshot of the post with the caption: 'What could this mean?' Nicks, who served as the band's lead singer, and Buckingham, who played guitar and keyboard, met while attending Menlo-Atherton High School and began dating in 1972. The two have had a bitter relationship since their split. As recent as last October, Nicks told Rolling Stone that she 'dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could' and gave him 'more than 300 million chances.' Efforts to reunite Nicks and Buckingham have been ongoing for years. In February, their bandmate Mick Fleetwood even shared his hopes for them to 'pal up a bit more' during an interview with US Weekly Magazine. But while this recent virtual interaction is promising for many reunion hopefuls like Fleetwood, Nicks made clear that after the 2022 death of the band's keyboardist, Christine McVie, it would never happen. 'Without Christine, no can do,' Nicks told Mojo Magazine in June 2024. 'There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn't work.'
