Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham move toward reconciliation: ‘It's never over'
The former Fleetwood Mac musicians, who famously dated and broke up as the band recorded its 1977 album 'Rumours,' recently began following each other on Instagram. Though it may seem like a small gesture, those who have watched the tension between the former couple grow over the decades believe it's a monumental step.
'stevie nicks and lindsey buckingham following each other in the year of 2025, after their fallout is proof that it's NEVER OVER and you can have a 60-year-old situationship with your ex!' X user @ kajolswife wrote.
The post has been viewed 1 million times and has received 38,000 likes since it was shared on Friday, July 11.
Though it is unclear when exactly Nicks and Buckingham began following each other, the post notes that they weren't connected on social media as of three weeks ago.
Several other fans online began expressing similar excitement about the detail on June 27.
X user @RumoursEra shared a GIF of a man walking toward a group of athletes in a locker room with a smile on his face as they all begin to jump together in excitement.
'ME OPENING THIS APP TO FIND OUT FROM OOMFS THAT STEVIE AND LINDSEY FOLLOW EACH OTHER ON INSTAGRAM,' they captioned the post, shared on June 27.
Later that day, Instagram user @stevienicksnation shared a screenshot of the post with the caption: 'What could this mean?'
Nicks, who served as the band's lead singer, and Buckingham, who played guitar and keyboard, met while attending Menlo-Atherton High School and began dating in 1972.
The two have had a bitter relationship since their split. As recent as last October, Nicks told Rolling Stone that she 'dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could' and gave him 'more than 300 million chances.'
Efforts to reunite Nicks and Buckingham have been ongoing for years. In February, their bandmate Mick Fleetwood even shared his hopes for them to 'pal up a bit more' during an interview with US Weekly Magazine.
But while this recent virtual interaction is promising for many reunion hopefuls like Fleetwood, Nicks made clear that after the 2022 death of the band's keyboardist, Christine McVie, it would never happen.
'Without Christine, no can do,' Nicks told Mojo Magazine in June 2024. 'There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn't work.'

Bolduan could be heard exclaiming, 'Oh Jesus,' as Cruz attempted the flip. When the camera cut back to her, the presenter was clasping her hands over her mouth. 'What you just saw there is a brand new twist on America's favorite pastime,' Berman said. Luckily, Cruz was ok. In an Instagram post, which included a backstage video of the stunt gone wrong, the Savannah Bananas star said: 'The sound makes it 10x funnier. Yes, you have my permission to laugh. Yes, I'm all good. Some stitches, slightly damaged pride, and some unparalleled dad lore.' In a separate video reflecting on the fail, Cruz explained that he was running low on sleep before performing the stunt, and the bright light of the studio set meant that he lost his bearings in mid-air. 'I was pretty confused. My mic pack fell out of my pocket, my shoe flew off of my foot. I don't even know how that happened. I feel bad for the news anchors because they just sat there like, Ok, we're not supposed to laugh, but oh my gosh, that was funny,' Cruz observed. 'They just had to carry on.' Cruz said he was unable to take part in an interview because he was covered in blood from splitting his lip and chin. The video contained a photo of Cruz receiving medical attention, which he said included 'several stitches.' 'Thank God, aside from my damaged pride, I didn't sustain any significant injuries,' he said. Gregg Wallace: I'm not a 'sex pest'
Gregg Wallace has insisted he is 'not a sex pest'. The 60-year-old former MasterChef host was sacked by the BBC after the investigation into his alleged inappropriate behaviour was released, with 45 out of 83 allegations substantiated, including claims of inappropriate sexual language, humour, and one reported incident of "unwelcome physical contact". However, Gregg has insisted he is 'not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher'. He told The Sun: 'I'm not saying I'm not guilty of stuff, but so much has been perceived incorrectly. Things that really hurt me and hurt my family. 'People think I've been taking my trousers down and exposing myself – I'm not a flasher. 'People think I'm a sex pest. I am not. I am not sexist or a misogynist or any of it. There never were any allegations of sexual harassment.' Gregg insisted his actions had been 'perceived incorrectly' and said they were the result of learned behaviour and workplace culture. Gregg also defended his fellow former MasterChef star John Torode, who was also sacked. The report upheld an allegation of an "extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace", with John, 60, later identifying himself as the individual alleged to have used racist language in 2018 or 2019, "for the sake of transparency" in an Instagram post. On July 15, the corporation announced that John's contract would not be renewed. Torode denied using a racist word and said he has "no recollection" of using racist language. Gregg said: 'He's not a racist.' Meanwhile, the BBC recently announced that after "careful consideration and consultation with the contestants", it will air John and Gregg's last series of MasterChef - which was filmed in 2024 - on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from August 6, to respect the cooks who gave "so much to the process".
