Tom Pelissero told Rich Eisen over the weekend that Parsons and the Cowboys know the 'type of contract' the two sides will agree on in terms of the average annual value. However, contract length is reportedly the lone issue in the deal. The Cowboys tend to like five-year extensions; Parsons will no doubt push for a four-year pact.

The Cowboys offensive line might be worrisome in pass protection, but they are cause for optimism when it comes to run blocking. The fact that the team has no clear-cut RB1, though, means it could be a platoon approach yet again. Dak Prescott may take his offensive playmakers to far-flung locales for the summer, but the offensive line goes on staycation by working with Duke Manyweather at OL Masterminds in Frisco. Manyweather's credibility with the Cowboys organization runs deep and has been building for years, as he trained Jermey Parnell and Ronald Leary in the 2010s. But once seven-time first-team All-Pro right guard Zack Martin became a client, that's when Manyweather became the preferred trainer of the Dallas offensive line. Trevon Diggs's recovery could trigger a shuffle at the position. Right now, DaRon Bland and Kaiir Elam stand to be the Week 1 starters, though rookie Shavon Revel, Jr. is making excellent progress and could push for a starting slot. The Eagles are still the division's best team. Washington and Dallas are, most would say, battling for second place. The Cowboys starting 2-0 and notching early tiebreakers versus Philadelphia and New York would be huge. They seem to have made offensive improvements on paper; whether the defense also got better could be the real key to the season.

Terence Steele's $86.8 million contract certainly sticks out as the fourth-largest on the team. Some might also wonder about Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson, at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. And newly-added linebacker Kenneth Murray, Jr. clocks in with a $15.5 million deal that puts him 10th on the list before even taking a snap with the team.

The network picks Dallas to take an edge rusher with the 13th pick next spring. Fine. But the reason they give is that the team needs "more on the edge after passing on the position in the 2025 draft." Only the Cowboys didn't pass on the position in the 2025 draft; they nabbed the guy many consider to be the steal of the second round in Donovan Ezeiruaku. Just two months ago, the mock author himself called Ezeiruaku the 14th-best pick of the entire draft.
