EXCLUSIVE Fans spot baffling detail as Blake Lively breaks silence over 'intense' year in TV comeback

Daily Mail02-05-2025

Blake Lively reunited with chat show host Seth Meyers on Thursday's Late Night show, but fans spotted an odd detail about her appearance.
The actress spoke about her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni while appearing on the show, but many noticed she was not wearing her wedding ring.
The star shared how this year had some of her 'lowest lows' and how fear is keeping many women 'silent' and 'afraid to speak', a source who attended the taping exclusively told Dailymail.com.
After Meyers alluded to her conflict with her It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin, 41 — whom she's accused of sexual harassment — he added, 'I imagine you're in a situation where you can't say anything.'
Blake replied, 'What I can say without going too into it is that this year has been the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in my life and I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially right now, afraid to share their experiences, and fear is by design.'
'It's what keeps us silent but I also acknowledge that many people don't have the opportunity to speak.'
'So I do feel fortunate that I've been able to and as a woman, you have the ability to use your voice - that's kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls. It's a pretty simple thing.'
She said that her four kids — daughters James, 10, Inez, eight, Betty, five, and son Olin, two — whom she shares with husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, help her focus on what is important.
'It's no surprise it's been a pretty intense year and they're just my lifeline,' she shared.
'No matter what day I am having, I have to be Disneyland for them. It's the best, it's chaos.'
Blake shared that her son complements her and announces that she's the 'love of his life' which she says is the 'best feeling in the world.'
Blake wowed in a frilly layered white dress while appearing on the show, and wore her blonde tresses in a halfway updo.
She joked that her chic gown was a 'wedding dress.'
Elsewhere in the conversation Seth asked if it was her husband Ryan's gin that was used in her new movie, Another Simple Favor — a sequel to her 2018 film, A Simple Favor.
Her husband is the co-owner of Aviation American Gin.
She added 'Fear is by design. It's what keeps us silent but I also acknowledge that many people don't have the opportunity to speak. So I do feel fortunate that I've been able to and as a woman, you have the ability to use your voice - that's kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls'
However Blake explained it was director Paul Feig's gin, and that she had to have a sit down with Ryan about it.
She then mentioned her character's habit of putting ice in martinis, adding that she personally loves ice and even puts it in her milk, which prompted laughter.
They wrapped up by discussing filming in Italy, followed by her experience taking the Italian actor Michele Morrone around New York to sample pizza.
She mentioned buying a large Parmesan shaker for Michele and another actor, and they joked about topping preferences, including Michele's dislike of honey on pizza.
Blake was joined by her sister and mom, who were in the audience.
During the commercial break, Seth took fan questions. One fan asked if he could give Blake a bracelet, but Seth declined, joking she'd likely have left by the time he gave it to her.
Lively is still in the midst of a legal war against Baldoni, whom she's accused of sexually harassing her on set.
It all began December 20 when Blake filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department against the filmmaker for sexual harassment and retaliation on the set of the Sony Pictures drama, and revealed her side to the New York Times.
Justin immediately filed a libel lawsuit for $250M against the New York Times for allegedly biased coverage of Lively's California complaint and she filed a lawsuit against him and his PR team on December 31 for his alleged 'plan to undermine her reputation in retaliation' with a 'vicious smear campaign' in retaliation for reporting sexual harassment.
All of the parties deny the allegations against them.

Ryan Thomas shares wife's off-screen involvement in Sue Cleaver's Corrie exit

Ryan Thomas spent 16 years on the Corrie set with his mum Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver - so when she finally called it a day on the ITV soap, he was there to send her off Corrie star Ryan Thomas has given his wife Lucy Mecklenburgh a tour around his on-screen childhood home, as he paid tribute to his TV mum Eileen after Sue Cleaver's emotional departure from the soap. Ryan, 40, shares two children with TOWIE star Lucy Meck, but he had already left the show by the time they got together. Ryan spent his teenage years in Weatherfield, having joined the Manchester-based ITV soap in 2000. He stayed until 2016, when his character, builder Jason Grimshaw left the cobbles after being manipulated by his mum Eileen's partner Pat Phelan. ‌ But Jason wasn't killed off, and instead emigrated to Thailand, with his mum Eileen mentioning him often on the soap. And with Sue Cleaver finally leaving Corrie for good, he took the opportunity to show Lucy, 33, around the set. ‌ Sharing a video on Instagram of Lucy walking through the Grimshaws' living room, he wrote: "I was never with @lucymeck while I was in the show so it was nice to finally show my superfan where I grew up." Another clip showed Sue being given a round of applause, before hugging her on-screen sons Jason and Todd, who was played by Bruno Langley originally, and then Gareth Pierce since 2017. Ryan wrote: "Haven't seen it yet but Eileen/mother departed Weatherfield tonight, gone but never forgotten. "It has been an honour to watch, learn and act alongside you one last time. Can't wait to watch you shine in your next chapter. Love you always." Sue confirmed rumours that Ryan would be returning to the Cobbles for her send off. Speaking on soap podcast Off Script, she said: "I rang Ryan Thomas and I said, 'Ryan, I've not told work yet but I'm gonna leave. Would you come back? I'd really like you to take me out'. ‌ "He said, 'I wasn't planning to but I can't refuse that can I'. It just felt really right that he was there. It was lovely having him there. He's not changed at all." Following her final episode on Friday night, Sue's character Eileen was seen leaving for a new life in Thailand, alongside her son Jason. Simon Gregson's character Steve McDonald, Tony Maudsley's George Shuttleworth, and Eileen's son Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, all said goodbye to the matriarch before drivers from the local taxi firm honked their horns as she was driven off. In an Instagram post, Cleaver said: 'Well… that's a wrap. 25 years of laughs, tears, costumes, chaos — and one unforgettable journey. I'll miss this character like crazy, but what a ride it's been. Thank you for every moment.' ‌ Sue has played outspoken Eileen in the ITV show since 2000, who started her life in Weatherfield working on the phones at local taxi firm Streetcars. She arrived with her tearaway teenagers Jason and Todd, and became friends with her boss Steve. Sue came third on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022, where she opened up about reconciling with her birth mother. She also revealed how her family is 'bizarrely interconnected' to other Coronation Street stars, including Helen Worth (who plays Gail Platt) who is godmother to one of her half-sisters. Meanwhile, her other half-sister's husband, John Bowe, appeared on the cobbles as Duggie Ferguson. In 2024, Sue released a book A Work In Progress in which she discusses how she feels she is not past her prime, and has been a panellist on ITV daytime chat show Loose Women.

Stephen Graham had emergency operation on a plane to the US

Stephen Graham may be known for his intense on-screen performances, but his recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers showcased a very different side of the acclaimed British actor. A story the Adolescence star, 51, told on the show has gone viral online for good reason: It involves mid-air panic, unexpected medical heroics, and the actor 'dropping his kecks.' Prompted by Meyers' question about a particularly eventful journey to the United States, the A Thousand Blows star chuckled and admitted it had been 'a hell of an experience.' 'I'm of a certain age now,' Graham began. 'You know, once you hit 45, the trips to the loo start to rack up.' That complaint led the actor to seek a medical solution months prior – a non-invasive procedure designed to reduce frequent urination by slightly enlarging the prostate, often aided by a catheter. For a while, everything had been fine. That is, until Graham found himself at 10,000 feet and suddenly unable to urinate. 'It just didn't feel right,' he recalled. He returned to his seat and downed more water, hoping it would work itself out. But the next time he visited the toilet, things took a frightening turn. 'Long story short, I went, but it was just pure blood,' he said. 'It was very scary. I couldn't stop this trajectory of blood and I'm having a slight panic attack. I'm about to cry and I'm having a moment,' Graham added. Earlier that day, Graham had posed for a selfie at the gate with a fan, who, as luck would have it, was a doctor. Even better? The doctor's travel companion was a surgeon. Once the severity of Graham's situation became clear, the cabin crew sprang into action. 'Next minute, the doctor comes around the corner and goes, 'Stephen!' and I'm like, 'Doc! Hello!'' What happened next could rival the drama of any Graham-led series. The space between economy and first class was hastily converted into an operating bay. Curtains were drawn, medical kits opened, and the lounge area sterilized. More Trending 'I dropped me kecks, got on the couch, and they performed a catheter procedure right there,' Graham said. The cause? A blood clot that had lodged behind his urethra. But once it was removed, Graham described the relief in the most Graham way possible: 'It was one of the nicest experiences with me and my penis,' he quipped, grinning. 'I came running out like a kid who'd just learned to use the toilet.' He also made sure to commemorate the surreal incident: 'We took a photo at the end, me, the doctors, and the flight crew. Wonderful people.' What could have been a nightmare turned into a memorable, oddly uplifting tale of mid-air humanity – and one more reason fans continue to love Stephen Graham. Got a story? Meghan shares video of family trip to Disneyland for Lili's fourth birthday

The Duchess of Sussex has shared another intimate video of the family celebrating Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday at Disneyland. The post on Instagram showed the family enjoying rides at the California attraction, drawing comparisons with Harry's childhood trip to Florida's Walt Disney World with Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1993. The montage also features a clip of Archie, six, and Lili meeting Disney princess Elsa, from the film Frozen. Meghan wears a Minnie Mouse hat in some of the snaps featured in the video, while another image shows a two-tier Little Mermaid-themed birthday cake for Lili. The duchess captioned the video: 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!' The footage was reminiscent of photos taken of the duke when he was eight and his mother Diana took him and William to Walt Disney World. At the time, the royal siblings were photographed sitting at the front of a log on the Splash Mountain ride, with adults from their mother's entourage behind them and Diana seated at the back. Meghan's post follows a number of family shots over recent days to mark Lili's birthday. In one, she posted a throwback video of herself twerking in a bid to bring on labour while pregnant with the princess, while another post featured a black and white snap of herself cuddling Lili. In another post, she described how Lili's relationship with Harry was 'the sweetest bond to watch unfold'. She shared two photos of the princess with her father the duke, adding: 'Daddy's little girl and favorite adventurer. Happy birthday Lili!' Lili – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's youngest child – was born on June 4 2021 and was named Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Lilibet is named after her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
