Channel 5 broadcast the documentary Andrew and Fergie: The Duke and Duchess of Excess, which followed the launch of Andrew Lownie's bombshell new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
The programme examined the pair's extravagant spending, murky financial arrangements, and dubious associations, including Andrew's links with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew Lownie, who appeared in the documentary, branded the duo "greedy" and revealed that despite attempting to locate someone willing to speak positively about Andrew, 99% refused to do so.
This follows reports that Prince Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two senior royals despite hopes of reconciliation.
Making additional explosive allegations, Andrew Lownie claims that compromising footage featuring Prince Andrew may have been acquired and shared with foreign spy agencies, reports the Mirror.
"I think one of the most worrying things I discovered was the amount of kompromat there must be on Andrew. We know that Jeffrey Epstein had filmed people in his home," Lownie stated in the Channel 5 documentary.
Prior to his death, it was claimed Epstein had sold portions of this intelligence to Mossad, Libyan security services, and potentially the Russians.
"There is material from my sources talking about kompromat in China, in Libya, in the Middle East, and elsewhere. So I mean, there must be an awful lot of sex tapes running around, and I'm just amazed that they haven't hit the internet," Lownie claimed. The assertion has been made previously, but there's no public evidence that such tapes exist, and Prince Andrew has remained silent on the matter.
"Who knows what could come out?" journalist Richard Eden pondered. "I think the Royal Family still lives in fear, frankly, of what could come out."
In 2019, amidst the uproar over his friendship with Epstein following his Newsnight interview, Andrew withdrew from public duties and ceased using His Royal Highness.
Despite no longer being a working royal, he has attended family events. Earlier this year, he joined the King and several other senior royals for their traditional Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
Earlier this week, news resurfaced about Andrew's "lifelong teddy bear obsession" following the release of an explosive new biography.
In 2022, a peculiar story emerged about the embattled prince's alleged collection of 50 to 60 teddy bears. A former Royal officer even claimed that Andrew would "scream and shout" if his staff didn't carry out a specific task involving the toys.
Former protection officer Paul Page alleged in the ITV documentary 'Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile' that the Duke would become enraged if his servants didn't arrange them in a certain way at Buckingham Palace.

Strictly drug scandal, sexual slurs, 'Z-list' line-up - will it survive another year?

Strictly Come Dancing has been plagued by scandals, but it's still winging its way to our screens in September, despite some viewers calling for its axe Strictly Come Dancing has been sullied by scandals over the last few years, tarnishing its former family-friendly reputation. Kicking off in 2023 with the drama surrounding Giovanni Pernice - who was accused of bullying Sherlock star, Amada Abbington - the show's reputation as the jewel in the Beeb's crown seemed to be perilously precarious. ‌ After Giovanni was cleared of some but not all of the charges against him made by Amanda, his fellow Italian Graziano di Primo was also given the boot after footage of him appearing to kick Love Island star, Zara McDermott, in the rehearsal studio was leaked. ‌ Graziano apologised after his exit from Strictly, insisting: "I wasn't meaning to kick her. I'd never, never do that. My foot brushed her after I kicked the floor." But viewers weren't happy, with many urging the BBC to pull the plug. It comes as a PR expert has warned that Strictly is facing an identity crisis. ‌ A slew of scandals In more drama for the dance series, Go Compare star, Wynne Evans, was seen with his hand creeping around Katya Jones' waist in an alleged "in joke" between the pair last year. The Welsh warbler was then axed from the show's tour after making an alleged sexual slur about Janette Manrara and has now been let go by the BBC completely. And just when the show had seemed, for a second, scandal-free, Strictly was hit by another bombshell when it was claimed that two of its stars were high on cocaine and boozing during filming. When contacted by the Mirror about the claims its stars were drinking on set and being 'monitored', the BBC said it did "not recognise the claims and any suggestion that anyone has been asked to monitor an individual is completely untrue". However, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are investigating a drug allegation related to the BBC' s hit programme. This investigation after fresh reports that external lawyers Pinsent Masons began an inquiry into the dance competition, just days after its 14th celebrity contestant was confirmed. They previously launched an inquiry into the show after claims that two of its stars had used the Class A drug, cocaine in a long list of controversies the show has faced in the past few years. ‌ 'Z-list' line-up Scandals aside, there's also pressure on the show after it revealed an 'underwhelming' line-up, announcing the class of 2025. Strictly will return to our screens this autumn for the 23rd series, but some fans say they have already been left feeling short-changed. To crank up the excitement, the show's social media team has been dropping an announcement for each contestant. Among the names we can expect to see on the show including Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Love Island's Dani Dyer and Doctor Who star Alex Kingston. While some excitement simmered for the likes of Vicky Pattinson and YouTube star George Clarke, plenty of people were left wanting more. As BBC bosses revealed Lioness and broadcaster Karen Carney and Hollywood correspondent for Lorraine, Ross King, viewers spoke up. ‌ Strictly fans were quick to flood the comments of the post with their opinions – and many of them didn't hold back. One user wrote: "Not really into the lineup this year. It feels a little underwhelming for me." Another person mused: "Is it me, or are they really scraping the barrel for these 'celebrities'? It feels like the Z-list reboot." So can Strictly survive? The short answer is yes. Despite the slew of scandals that have surrounded it in recent years, the show still has a legion of loyal viewers who look forward to tuning in every week to see the celebrities chance their arm in a tough arena as they learn a new skill and usually something cute about themselves. ‌ The programme is still one of the BBCs' biggest exports, with many viewers defending Strictly despite some urging for it to be axed after 21 years in wake of the bad press that has surrounded it. 'You can't blame Strictly for the douchebags' After Channel 5's Jeremy Vine Show debated whether it was time for the show to end, many took to X to advocate for the show. ‌ Ahead of the new series, one declared: "I love Strictly and look forward to it! Only good thing about autumn" as another said: "Don't be ridiculous it's a great show !!" A third wrote: "No. It's one of the best shows on tv and just because something gets mentioned in a paper. Doesn't make it true." Meanwhile, a fourth stated that you can't blame Strictly for "some of the douche bags" caught up in the controversy, posting: "You seriously can't blame the show, which is hugely popular for some of the douchebags that manage to get on it. If you go around every tv show or work place, you're going to find wrong-uns! Ridiculous hysteria." The new series of Strictly starts in September, where it will, hopefully, be heavy on sequins and low on scandals.

Prince Philip's brutal four word remark to Queen after Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding

Prince Philip is said to have whispered four words to his wife as they were leaving the ceremony. Prince Philip didn't hide his feelings following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials, as revealed in a forthcoming book. The Sussexes tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in May 2018, with the entire Royal Family in attendance. ‌ In pride of place were the late Queen and her consort. Their wedding at St George's Chapel featured all the traditional elements of a royal union, plus unique touches like a gospel choir's rendition of Stand By Me and a lengthy sermon by Bishop Michael Curry. ‌ After the service, the couple embarked on a carriage procession through Windsor, while other royals exited the chapel to proceed to the castle for an official reception. ‌ Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, recounts that as they were leaving the church, Harry's grandfather Philip remarked to the Queen, "Thank f*** that's over". This anecdote is part of Harrold's new book set to be released this month. Harrold served King Charles at his Highgrove residence from 2004 to 2011, reports the Mirror. On the wedding day, Harrold had been offering commentary for a broadcaster before joining his partner, Jack Stooks, who had received an invitation to observe the royal departure from the chapel and had brought his other half along as his plus one. The Telegraph cites Harrold's upcoming memoir, titled The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service, where he notes: "Once all the formalities were over, we watched as the happy couple, and then the other members of the Royal Family, filed out of the chapel. "When Prince Philip came out, he turned to the Queen and said, 'Thank f*** that's over'." ‌ In the lead-up to Harry and Meghan's nuptials, the then Duke of Edinburgh underwent a hip replacement operation. It was reported at the time that he was resolute in his determination not to miss their special day and aimed to be mobile by then. During his tenure at Highgrove, Harrold had the opportunity to get acquainted with Princes William and Harry, who were then in their late teens and early 20s. ‌ In a recent interview, the ex-butler disclosed that he first met Harry when he was 19, their initial interaction being when Harry struck him with a water balloon during a playful skirmish. He recounts that they even shared a takeaway meal before the Duke of Sussex left for Sandhurst Military Academy. Harrold's stint at Highgrove coincided with the period when Charles and Camilla announced their engagement and subsequently tied the knot. In his explosive memoir Spare, Harry revealed how he and his now estranged brother William pleaded with their father not to wed his current wife. ‌ He wrote: "We support you, we said. We endorse Camilla, we said. 'Just please don't marry her. Just be together, Pa.' He didn't answer. But she answered. Straight away." However, Harrold's observations paint a different picture from what Harry described in his book. Speaking to The Telegraph, he stated: "The four of them, I promise you, got on so well. "Because I saw them. I saw them having dinners together, I saw them having drinks together, I saw them going to parties together." He also remembers observing "no animosity" among the royals, noting: "The King used to do things to make them [William and Harry] laugh and giggle." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
