Tern's Newest GSD Cargo Bike Now Has Antilock Brakes
With all that said, my family and I are year-round riders and live in Portland, Oregon. I live in terror that something will happen to my kids on my bike and there have been multiple times on rainy winters on hills when I have forced my much spouse to switch bikes and ride with the kids because he's much bigger than I am and I was scared. If this is you, then you need ABS brakes. This would've allayed my fears quite a bit.
If safety is also one of your primary concerns, the S10 also meets the DIN 79010, the German safety standard that's the only cargo bike standard that exists. The newly reinforced frame was tested under the DIN 79010 and verified to be safe carrying up to 463 pounds. Other components, like the rear rack, kickstand, and braking system are all tested under the DIN 79010, which is important because you don't want the kickstand to collapse or fall while you're strapping your baby into her Thule seat.
My kids are now 7 and 10 and ride their very own nice mountain bikes, but I did load up the panniers with mulch and wood chips and ride up and down the steepest hill in my neighborhood with about a 10 to 15 percent grade, and I felt pretty secure about its stopping power. If my kids were still pretty small, paying for ABS brakes would be a good way to extend the use of the bike through the rain. Long-Lived

With the smart system, you're also paying for GPS tracking if it's stolen, locks, the Bosch eBike Flow app that connects to your phone, and customizable drive settings, so you can tweak the power settings for Eco, Tour, Sport, and Turbo.
This is important, because I have had a double battery mounted on my old Tern for so long that I forgot that the range on this is quite small. A 12-mile ride at over 20 mph depleted the battery to 50 percent in less than an hour, and I am a relatively small person (115 pounds). I would immediately put a double battery on this if you are considering it as a commuter. The Tern has a Kiox 300 Bosch display, which is easy to scroll through, but with the Flow app I would also probably just pop it off (you can pop it off!) and put my phone on a bike mount.
This may be a little hard to swallow: The bike costs $7,000, and that's just the starting point. You will need another battery, and I guarantee you are going to want accessories, especially if you have a kid. Tern's accessories are unmatched, especially if you have kids. I have a Storm Box, which protects my kids while riding in the rain. You can also put on a Sun Shield to protect your kids from the sun or an integrated TowBar so you can easily add a trailer.

Tesla is now selling new Cyberbeast inventory with 'price adjustments," aka discounts, of up t0 $10,550. One new Cyberbeast, a demo with 479 miles, is priced at $94,940. If you include the $7,500 federal tax credit, the price drops to $87,440. That configuration comes with 20'' Cyber Wheels ($3,500) and White Décor ($2,000). Another Cyberbeast is priced at $91,790 with a $10,200 discount. It also comes with 20'' Cyber Wheels and White Décor. Add the $7,500 federal tax credit and the price drops to $84,290. The Cyberbeast comes standard with a tri-motor powertrain and other extras such as Premium Interior with Suede Textile Trim. It is rated at 301 miles of range. (Note that these prices are as of Sunday June 15. But prices change often and vehicles may get sold, rendering the link inactive.) The price freefall comes against a backdrop of swelling new All-Wheel Drive (dual-motor) inventory on Tesla's Cybertruck page. Some inventory AWD Cybertruck discounts are as high as $8,550, bringing the price down to as low as $69,440 with the federal tax credit. That price includes 20'' Cyber Wheels ($3,500) and White Décor ($2,000). The Cyberbeast Foundation Series has fallen hard from its rarefied pricing of only a year ago. At that time, the Cyberbeast version of the Cybertruck was being flipped for more than $150,000. That market dynamic is now inverted. A tri-motor Cyberbeast Foundation Series with only 1,200 miles is selling for around $92,000 at a car dealership in Southern California as of Saturday June 14. Another used Cyberbeast with 16,027 miles has an asking price of $89,000. While another used Foundation Series Cyberbeast is selling for $89,620 with 9,974 miles. The Foundation Series comes with Full Self Driving standard, an $8,000 value, and Tesla Powershare vehicle-to-home back-up capability, among other extras. A new Cyberbeast sells for $99,990 on Tesla's Cybertruck website. Last year at this time it was priced at $119,990 direct from Tesla. Cars on average lose about 20% of their original value during the first year, according to Kelley Blue Book. But pricing of a virtually new (flipped) Cybertruck has lost as much as 40% of its value in a year. That's because the Cybertruck's used market value was inflated initially due to hype and high demand and meager supply. Overall, used Cybertruck prices have plummeted from a year ago when the average asking price for a used Cybertruck Foundation Series was over $130,000 (see charts). The wedge-shaped stainless steel pickup went on sale in late November of 2023. Tesla Cybertruck used market prices have come down more than 20% in the last six months. Tesla Cybertruck used market price has plummeted almost 40% year over year. Deliveries of the Cybertruck plummeted in the first quarter of this year—essentially cut in half—falling to 6,406 versus 12,991 in the fourth quarter of last year, according to Cox Automotive. Trade-in value for the truck has been a shock for some owners, after Tesla began accepting trade-ins.

SHW's (HMSE:SW10) Returns On Capital Not Reflecting Well On The Business
What trends should we look for it we want to identify stocks that can multiply in value over the long term? Firstly, we'd want to identify a growing return on capital employed (ROCE) and then alongside that, an ever-increasing base of capital employed. This shows us that it's a compounding machine, able to continually reinvest its earnings back into the business and generate higher returns. However, after investigating SHW (HMSE:SW10), we don't think it's current trends fit the mold of a multi-bagger. Thus, SHW has an ROCE of 2.6%. Ultimately, that's a low return and it under-performs the Auto Components industry average of 11%. Over 1.1 million Anker power banks recalled due to fire hazard, officials say
More than 1.15 million portable power banks are being recalled nationwide after several incidents of overheating, fires and explosions were reported, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall affects Anker Innovations' 'PowerCore 10000' portable chargers with model number A1263. The lithium-ion battery in these devices can overheat and pose a risk of melting, smoke, and fire, the CPSC said in a safety alert issued Thursday. Anker, which is based in China, acknowledged the safety concerns and said the recall is being conducted 'out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our customers.' The company and CPSC have documented at least 19 incidents involving the chargers, including two cases where users suffered minor burns and 11 reports of property damage totaling more than $60,700. The recalled chargers were sold online between June 2016 and December 2022 for about $27. Retailers included Anker's website, Amazon, eBay and Newegg. Customers who have the affected model are advised to stop using it immediately. Anker is offering free replacements, but consumers must first submit a photo of their power bank showing the model number, serial number, their name, the date, and the word 'recalled' written on the product. Both Anker and the CPSC emphasized that these devices should not be disposed of in regular trash or curbside recycling due to the fire risk from lithium-ion batteries. Instead, users should follow local disposal guidelines for electronics or hazardous materials. Consumers can find more information and register for the recall at Anker's recall site.
