The heartbreaking reason Kelly Clarkson missed her show tapings
I reported she was 'overwhelmed,' and rumors circulated she wanted to quit her show.

The mystery deepened even more after Clarkson returned to taping the show, citing 'personal reasons' as to why she was out, but refused to address said reasons publicly.
But I can now reveal what insiders are saying happened.

'Her ex-husband is sick and she took the kids to see him,' one person in the know told me.
Clarkson's ex, Brandon Blackstock, was a music manager (including hers) until recent years when he stopped working for Starstruck Entertainment, the company his father, Norvill Blackstock, founded.
While Clarkson and Blackstock had a protracted divorce battle, which turned into a nasty business battle (he was Clarkson's manager and an executive producer of her eponymous show for some years), 'He is still the children's father,' my source said.
The former couple share a daughter, River Rose, 10, and son, Remington Alexander, 9. But things have not always been so copasetic between the two.
After Clarkson filed for divorce on June 4, 2020, there was a protracted, two-year custody and spousal support battle that ended in 2022.
Clarkson, according to Entertainment Tonight, 'retained the couple's highly contested Montana ranch in the settlement, as well as ownership of the family pets, several cars, including a Ford Bronco, a Ford F-250, and a Porsche Cayenne. She was also ordered to pay Blackstock $1.3 million and contribute $45,000 per month in child support for their two children. Additionally, Blackstock was granted $115,000 per month in spousal support, set to conclude in January 2024.'

But while the divorce was over, one year later, Clarkson sued Blackstock for violating California labor laws.
Clarkson stressed that he and Starstruck Entertainment broke the Talent Agencies Act by acting as an 'unlicensed talent agency', and in 2023, a California labor commissioner found Blackstock guilty of improper management and ordered him to reimburse his ex-wife $2,641,374 for past commissions.
Since then Clarkson has taken several shots at Blackstock, including, according to Entertainment Tonight, revising the lyrics of Gayle's 'ABCDEFU,' in July 2023, and singing, 'F**k you and your dad and the fact that you got half / And my broken heart, turn that s**t into art / F**k you, and your view from the valley I bought too / Everybody but your dogs, you can all f**k off!'

When I called Starstruck, a woman answering the phones screamed, 'We are not commenting on that!' And hung up on me. A call to Norvill Blackstock and Brandon's lawyer Bryan Freedman were not returned and multiple emails and calls to Clarkson's rep Melissa Kates or NBC reps, Kelly Kimball or Jen Geisser were not returned.
Our best goes out to Brandon and Kelly.

Kelly Clarkson cancels Texas benefit concert appearance after ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's death
Kelly Clarkson has pulled out of an upcoming concert appearance at an event slated to take place this weekend following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The singer's ex, to whom she was married from 2013 to 2020, died on Aug. 3 following a yearslong private battle with melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer. He was 48. Prior to Blackstock's passing, the 'Breakaway' hitmaker was due to perform onstage at Band Together Texas — a live music event created country stars Parker McCollum and Miranda Lambert. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's Relationship Is "Strained"
Time for a check in with astronaut Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau! A source tells Entertainment Tonight that the pair are still seeing each other, but things are casual: As for Katy's ex Orlando Bloom, apparently the vibes are slightly tense. Per the source, things between Katy and Orlando "still aren't great" and "their relationship is a bit awkward and strained." Meanwhile, Orlando made his feelings about Katy and Justin known by commenting on an Onion post from August 1, which featured the headline "Orlando Bloom Spotted At Dinner With Angela Merkel" along with this caption: "Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Angela kept Orlando laughing all night — he couldn't keep his eyes off her!' said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant." Orlando straight-up commented a series of clapping hands emojis, into that how you will! As for Katy and Justin, a source also recently told The Sun that "Justin wants to keep getting to know her and see how it goes... Justin isn't a guy who is easy to 'catch' and he has been having a lot of women trying to date him since he separated from his wife."

Why Taylor Swift Announced Her Album on 'New Heights'
Taylor Swift just made an almost two-hour appearance on New Heights, where she officially announced her new album The Life of a Showgirl. And revealed the tracklist! And producers! And vibes! And if you're wondering why Taylor decided to make the TS12 announcement on Travis Kelce's podcast, apparently she wanted to support him like he's constantly supporting her. Which so sweet. "She wanted to save the news of her album for his podcast as a way of supporting him and his platform — just as he's always championed her," a source tells Entertainment Tonight. "They see each other as true partners in every sense." On top of revealing her album, Taylor spoke a lot about how she and Travis met and started dating, saying of Trav shooting his shot on his podcast, "It was such a wild romantic gesture to be like 'I wanna date you!' ...This dude didn't get a meet and greet he's making it everyone's problem." She added that "I was like if this guy isn't crazy, which is a big if, this is sort of what I've been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager. I knew that he wasn't crazy the first couple of times that we talked, I was like he's truly getting to know me in a way that's very natural very pure very normal." Cut to a couple years later and Taylor is out here on New Heights announcing her next album. Life comes at you fast.
