Boycott quota ordinance opponents, says Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to BCs
Revanth also said the community must stand united to defend what he called a long-overdue and historic measure.
Meeting a delegation of BC association leaders led by National BC Welfare Association president Jajula Srinivas Goud, Revanth said: "If anyone goes to court or sends someone to challenge the ordinance, the BC community should announce their social boycott. The BC community must make this clear."

Revanth assured that the Congress govt would hire top lawyers from Delhi to defend the ordinance in court and called on BC leaders to act as a shield for the govt.
CM slams BRS for ignoring BC community
The delegation, including BC leaders from various political backgrounds, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and a couple of ministers, met the CM at his residence and thanked him for the state cabinet's decision to go ahead with the ordinance.
Revanth accused former BC ministers in the K Chandrasekhar Rao cabinet, including Gangula Kamalakar, V Srinivas Goud, and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, of opposing the same BC quota they once ignored.

Gandhi had challenged the summons by a local court in connection with a case related to his alleged remarks on the Indian Army. A single-judge bench of Justice Subhash Vidyarthi on June 2, 2025, passed the order, rejecting Rahul Gandhi's petition challenging the additional CJM's order. 'No doubt, Article 19(1) of the Constitution of India guarantees freedom of speech and expression, this freedom is subject to the reasonable restrictions and it does not include the freedom to make statements which are defamatory to any person or defamatory to the Indian Army,' the high court observed. The high court dismissal of his petition paved the way for Rahul Gandhi to face trial in the lower court.

Warring accused the police of acting under pressure from the AAP-led Punjab government and alleged that the Congress leader was manhandled in custody. He raised slogans inside the police station and targeted the DSP, calling the entire episode a deliberate attempt to intimidate political opponents. Warring further claimed that the same police had failed to act in cases involving petrol bomb and bullet attacks in Baddowal, but were quick to arrest a Congress leader over a year-old video. 'This is selective targeting. If justice is not served, Congress will take to the streets,' warned Warring. Congress supporters camped outside the police station throughout the evening. The sit-in was eventually lifted after senior police officials, including DSP Indrajit Singh Boparai and SP Ramninder Deol, met the protesting leaders and assured them of a fair investigation. 'The officers have assured us that any further action will be taken only after an impartial probe, and that even the concerned officer will be held accountable if found guilty,' Warring told reporters after the protest was called off.

Training of the new force will bring it into line with other national law enforcement agencies, he added. The new force 'should not be used as a gimmick to silence political opponents, as has been previously witnessed when the government applied such laws against a large number of the PTI leadership and supporters,' he said.
