Why a quarter of total Love Island complaints came in one night
A total of 14,167 complaints were received, with the highest number on July 24 relating to alleged bullying behaviour towards contestant Shakira Khan.
Further complaints included concerns over contestants' mental health, the behaviour of Dejon Noel-Williams, and alleged race and gender-based discrimination.
Ofcom stated that negative behaviour in the villa was not shown in a positive light, and contestants were seen supporting each other, adding that viewers would expect highs and lows from the established format.
The 12th series of Love Island ran from June 9 to August 4 and was won by Toni Laites and Cach Mercer.

ITV competition show The Fortune Hotel is in full season 2 swing, with 11 pairs of contestants battling it out to find a briefcase stuffed with a £250,000 prize. Hot off the heels of BBC show The Traitors, in eight episodes players must work out which pair has the winning briefcase, and the goal is to end up with it at the end of the show. Daily challenges decide what order players can either keep or swap their briefcases, with the quarter of a mill secretly changing hands throughout the series. Eight briefcases are empty, while the ninth has an 'early checkout card' – which eliminates players landed with it at the end of each episode. Presenter Stephen Mangan told Metro how the show can be pretty savage, as winning requires contestants to lie and cheat. 'It's really difficult to brutally pull the plug on another pair and send them home, but you have to do it,' he explained. The series began with 11 pairs of contestants who know each other in some capacity, much like Race Across The World's format. Hoping for a chance to win were best friends Maz and Max; fellow besties Chelsey and Briony; father and son Atholl and John; brothers Jake and Mike; couple Allan and Jacob; couple Nella and Tope, partners Fred and Min; mum and daughter Martina and Briony; friends Gurk and Guv; and dad and daughter James and Yasmine. Players come from all walks of life, with jobs ranging from tech to cleaning, and retirees are also having a stab. Last week's episode ended on a cliffhanger – spoiler ahead – as with the introduction of a second early check-out card, both Fred and Min and Allan and Jacob seemed to be at risk. However host Stephen revealed only one of the pairs would be going home – as voted for by their other contestants, ouch . Tonight revealed Maz and Max sent home Allan and Jacob through tears, leaving them 'gutted'. So far other eliminated contestants include cleaning business owners Briony and Chelsey; retired police officer Atholl and son John from the Scottish borders; Wigan-born brothers Mike and Jake; and salesman Guv and poker player Gurks. Episodes are airing weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Man charged with killing an 'American Idol' exec and husband will undergo mental evaluation
A man charged with fatally shooting an 'American Idol' music supervisor and her husband in their Los Angeles home will undergo mental evaluation to determine whether he's fit to stand trial, a judge ruled Wednesday. Raymond Boodarian, 22, was set to be arraigned in a courthouse in Los Angeles but did not enter a plea. A judge suspended the criminal proceedings against him while a psychiatrist examines him to determine his competency. He's charged with two counts of murder in the killing of longtime 'American Idol' producer Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca, both 70, who were shot when they came home unexpectedly during a burglary on July 10. A judge at a court that specializes in mental health will consider the evaluation and decide whether Boodarian will proceed toward trial or be placed in a state hospital. Boodarian stood behind a window in a custody area of the courtroom, and appeared to try to remain out of sight. His attorney declined comment, and the district attorney's office had no immediate comment. Boodarian will undergo the same evaluation in the same small courthouse on Hollywood Boulevard where a man charged with stalking Jennifer Aniston and driving into the front gate of her home was recently found to be not competent to go to trial. Police said they responded to a 911 call about a burglary at the home of Kaye and Deluca in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. Police said they found no sign of forced entry or other trouble and left. Four days later the couple's bodies were found, shot to death, when officers carried out a welfare check at the home. Boodarian was arrested the following day. District Attorney Nathan Hochman later said in a community meeting that investigators believe the couple arrived home unexpectedly while Boodarian was burglarizing it. He shot them with their own gun and later called 911 himself, Hochman said. Kaye had been with 'American Idol' for more than 15 years and was working on the upcoming season of the hit singing competition TV series at the time of her death. She had also worked in the music departments of several other productions, including 'The Singing Bee,' 'Hollywood Game Night,' 'Lip Sync Battle,' and several Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.

People say I have the ‘nicest council house they've seen' & it's infuriated trolls who say ‘that's where our taxes go'
A WOMAN who showed off her new council house has been trolled as people claim they're paying for it. Robyn, a mum-of-one from the UK, was thrilled to get a house she could call home after being in temporary accommodation for four months. The mum shared her new council house in a recent TikTok video and it left people stunned. The new house had two large bedrooms, a modern kitchen, two bathrooms, plenty of storage space and a front room leading to a massive garden. And despite most council houses being outdated, hers was brand new as it was in a newbuild complex. Robyn wrote: "After four long months of being in temporary accommodation, me and my one-year-old have been offered my dream home." The swanky council house featured grey walls, silver hardware and marble tiles. Of course, Robyn was feeling lucky and excited for the next chapter of her life in the new home. In the comments, she revealed she had to bid for it like with most council homes and was fortunately accepted. However, it seemed that not everyone was happy with the mum's new home. Some cruel trolls took to the comments of the video which went viral on her TikTok account @ robynl2000 with over 943k views. Some were claiming it was their taxes that were funding the house, with some stating it was better than theirs. I'm trolled for 'wasting my money' by making my council house nice - but I plan to stay here for years so I won't stop One person wrote: "Are you going to thank me for working hard paying taxes to pay for your home? You're welcome." Another commented: "Nice! I have to go to work." "That's a council house? That's mental. Mine had no skirting boards and kitchen cupboards hanging off when I got mine," penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "Damn these council houses are better than the ones I can afford to buy working 63hours a week. Minimum." How can I get a council house? To apply for a council home, you need to fill out and hand in an application to your local authority. To find your local authority, simply use the Government's council locator tool on its website. Once you have access to your local council's website, it should offer you guidelines on how to complete your application. After applying, you'll most likely have to join a waiting list. Bear in mind, even if you are put on a waiting list, this doesn't guarantee you a council house offer. Your council should also offer you advice on how to stay in your current home and solve any issues you might have, such as problems with a private landlord or mortgage. You are eligible to apply for council housing if you are a British citizen living in the UK providing have not lived abroad recently. Each council has its own local rules about who qualifies to go on the housing register in its area, but it is based on "points" or a "banding" system. For example, you're likely to be offered housing first if you: are homeless live in cramped conditions have a medical condition made worse by your current home are seeking to escape domestic violence Once you are high enough on a council's waiting list, it will contact you when a property is available. That's the nicest council house I've seen,' claimed a fifth. Someone else added: "This is a council house ?! That's actually insane it's absolutely beautiful, it's honestly about time they took care of their properties as some are in terrible condition and they expect families to live in them with mould."
