WNBA Futures 2025: Betting, odds, expert picks, best bets including Clark, Collier, Wilson, and More
We are almost at the 25% mark for the WNBA regular season and with injuries to Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, let's take a look at the updated race for MVP and Rookie of the Year, plus the battle between A'ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and more for Defensive Player of the Year.
All odds are courtesy of DraftKings and subject to change.
WNBA MVP Ladder:
The MVP market continues to look like a runaway in favor of Napheesa Collier (-350) as Caitlin Clark (+425) remains sidelined.
Collier is shooting a ridiculous 50/40/90 split this season — 52.5% from the field, 42.5% from three, and 91.7% from the free-throw line with 25.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game — all career-highs so far except for rebounds.
Collier's been a brick wall on defense too with 2.3 steals and 1.4 blocks per game, which is why she is the favorite for DPOY now. Collier's MVP odds moved from -250 to -350 over the past week, while Clark dropped from +375 to +425 and A'ja Wilson to +1600 from +750.
Breanna Stewart is +3500 as the next closest in terms of odds before there is a plethora of 100-to-1 options tied for fifth.
WNBA DPOY Ladder:
Napheesa Collier (+225) has overtaken A'ja Wilson (+250) as the slight favorite for the DPOY, but Wilson is doing everything she can to keep opponents from scoring 100 on that Aces' defense. The Aces rank 9th in defensive efficiency versus the Lynx who are 2nd.
The Liberty lead the WNBA in defensive rating, steal percentage, block percentage and top three in opponent last break points per game and points in the paint. A lot of that has to do with Jonquel Jones' (+800) dominance down low.
The 6-foot-6 center missed the previous game, but is listed as game-to-game, so her price shouldn't be impacted much. I am keeping my eye on her because it's starting to feel like she is the bet to make in this market.
WNBA ROY Ladder:
Paige Buckers (-950) hasn't played in June (5/29), but she will return Wednesday, June 11, so there was no movement worth mentioning in this race over the past week. While Kiki Irafen (+800) and Sonia Citron (+1600) remain impressive second and third options for the award — there isn't much hope either player can take home this hardware over Bueckers.
Vaughn Dalzell's WNBA Futures Bets:
2 units: Stephanie White to win Coach of the Year (+115)
2 units: Minnesota Lynx to win Championship (+340)
2 units: A'ja Wilson to win MVP (+225)
2 units: Napheesa Collier to win MVP (+150)
0.5 unit: Napheesa Collier to win MVP (+300)
0.5 unit: Angel Reese to win DPOY (+2000)
0.5 unit: Aliyah Boston to win DPOY (+3500)
0.5 unit: Kamila Cardoso to win DPOY (+5500)
0.5 unit: Aliyah Boston to win Most Improved Player (+1500)
0.5 unit: Kamila Cardoso to win Most Improved Player (+3000)

Republicans defeat Democrats in record-breaking charity baseball game
WASHINGTON — Republicans defeated Democrats for a fifth straight year in the annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity as the hosting organization announced a record-breaking sum of donations. More than 31,000 people gathered at Nationals Park in southeast Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, amounting to more than $2.81 million to go toward charities in the nation's capital. The total amount surpasses the previous donation record of $2.2 million set in 2024. 'Couldn't have asked for a better support team here in DC!' Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, who was named MVP of the game, said in a post on X. 'Another huge win for Republicans.' Pfluger was named MVP after he made a diving catch to end the first inning, giving a major stop to Democrats who had the bases loaded. Republicans defeated Democrats with a final score of 13-2. It's the fifth straight year Republicans have defeated Democrats, continuing the party's winning streak since 2021. Democrats previously held a three-year winning streak from 2017 to 2019. There was no game in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual Congressional Baseball Game began in 1909 after Rep. John Tener, a former professional baseball player, organized the contest. Democrats won the inaugural game with a final score of 26-16. Since then, Republicans have won a total of 38 games and Democrats have won 23 games. There has been one tie, which occurred in 1983. Utah members have often participated in the annual game, with Rep. Blake Moore, R-Utah, holding a spot on the roster since he was first elected in 2020. However, the Utah 1st District Republican could not play on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury sustained during the congressional soccer game last month.

Mercury Make Important Announcement for Game Against Paige Bueckers, Wings
Mercury Make Important Announcement for Game Against Paige Bueckers, Wings originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Phoenix Mercury have done an impressive job of holding down the fort amid their recent injury crisis. They are currently 6-4 on the season despite missing the services of some of the most important players on their roster. Advertisement The Mercury are looking to keep this streak going on Wednesday when they return to action against the Dallas Wings, who themselves got some good news on the Paige Bueckers front after the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 WNBA Draft was cleared to play on Wednesday. The former UConn star will make her highly anticipated return after missing the last four games due to a concussion. It's not just the Wings who are getting a major boost in this game, though. Phoenix head coach Nate Tibbetts announced before tip-off that both Alyssa Thomas and Natasha Mack will be available to play against Dallas. Thomas, a five-time All-Star, will return to action after missing five straight games due to a calf injury. In her first five games before the injury, the three-time All-WNBA forward produced averages of 15.2 points on 50.8 % shooting, 7.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.8 steals in 33.2 minutes per contest. Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas brings the ball up court against the Chicago Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports Mack, on the other hand, will be making her season debut for Phoenix on Wednesday. The 6-foot-4 forward is returning from a back issue that has kept her out of the Mercury's first 10 games of the campaign. Advertisement Given how both players have missed significant time, it comes as no surprise that Coach Tibbetts has placed both of them on a minutes restriction against the Wings. Nevertheless, there's no denying that this is a major development for the Mercury and their push for a playoff spot this season. Skip Bayless Hits Angel Reese With Caitlin Clark Message
Skip Bayless Hits Angel Reese With Caitlin Clark Message originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky struggle this 2025 WNBA season, the criticism against them also continues to pile up. Advertisement Through eight games so far, Reese has averaged 10.1 points and 12.1 rebounds while also shooting 35.8 percent from the field, down from her rookie averages of 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds on 39.1 percent shooting. It also doesn't help that the Sky are the second-worst team in both offensive rating and defensive rating, which further highlights why they are only 2-6 on the season. On Tuesday — prior to the Sky's loss to the Liberty — sports commentator Skip Bayless dropped the latest episode of his show, where he shared his brutally honest take on Reese. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Bayless didn't mince words about the play of the Sky forward and even compared her to Indiana Fever star and rival Caitlin Clark. Advertisement "I'm not sure anyone has ever paid to see rebounding," Bayless said of Reese. "Logo threes and magic passes? Yeah, they will pay like crazy to watch Caitlin Clark. They'll pack NBA-sized arenas to watch Caitlin Clark." Bayless then proceeded to drop his critical take on Reese, highlighting her performance against a Fever team missing Clark on Saturday. The 23-year-old scored four points in the contest, although she did grab 12 rebounds. "But Angel, for all your charisma and all your charm, all your highly entertaining social media presence, if you can score only four against the Fever without Caitlin, and look laughably bad doing so, you can't say you're playing as big a part in the WNBA's exploding ratings as Caitlin is. You just can't say that. You can't make that case." For what it's worth, Reese's teammate, Ariel Atkins, has come to her defense amid all the unnecessary hate the Sky star is getting. Unfortunately, the criticism of Reese is unlikely to stop until she and Chicago improve on the court. Advertisement The Sky return to action on Friday against the Atlanta Dream. Chicago is currently on a two-game skid and has yet to win against other WNBA teams aside from the Dallas Wings.
