CM Naidu exhorts Telugu diaspora to invest in AP's development
On the first day of his five-day visit, Naidu addressed the Telugu diaspora at One World International School after receiving an enthusiastic welcome from attendees hailing from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
The event, which opened with 'Maa Telugu Thalli Ki' (State Anthem), reflected Telugu pride and showcased Andhra Pradesh's global aspirations. Naidu praised the success of Telugus in over 120 countries and cited Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as an example of their global leadership. He noted that Telugus in some countries have higher per capita incomes than locals.
Urging the estimated 40,000 Telugus in Singapore to support Andhra Pradesh's growth, Naidu reminded them that their achievements were built on the foundation of the State's public education and infrastructure.
Reflecting on the strained ties with Singapore during the previous YSRCP government, he expressed regret over the disruption of the Amaravati capital project, which had originally benefited from Singapore's expertise in township development.
Naidu said that his current visit aims to rebuild trust and restore ties with Singapore's government and businesses. He committed to ensuring stability and consistency in future engagements.

Jagan accuses Andhra govt of vendetta politics, governance failure
Amaravati, July 29 (PTI) YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday accused the TDP-led government in Andhra Pradesh of engaging in 'vendetta politics", failure in governance and neglecting public welfare. Addressing the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting of YSRCP, the former CM alleged that the state government is fabricating false cases to instill fear among its opponents, instead of focusing on implementing promised welfare schemes. 'Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu failed to implement poll promises and neglected all sections of society and is showing vindictive attitude towards political opponents," said Jagan Mohan Reddy in a release. Referring to the recent arrests of several senior YSRCP leaders, Jagan asserted that this is proof of 'vindictive politics". The YSRCP supremo further alleged that police have become 'collection agents", facilitating mafia-style operations in liquor, sand, rice and gambling, leading to paralysis of public institutions. The former CM also claimed that several key initiatives, including Nadu-Nedu works and Aarogyasri scheme, have been halted. According to Jagan, Naidu spent 52 per cent of YSRCP's five-year borrowings in just 14 months, despite stagnating state revenue and a mere three per cent growth rate. He announced the launch of a YSRCP app for citizens to report harassment, promising accountability and justice and called for strengthening of booth-level structure. Microsoft investors who will be attending the company's upcoming fourth quarter earnings call may have one 'big question' for the tech giant. They are expected to ask the company: Is the company's AI 'upper hand' at risk as its partner OpenAI plans to go public while reportedly discussing partnership opportunities with rivals like Google, Oracle and CoreWeave for cloud services? Due to its exclusive licensing deals and access to OpenAI's models, Microsoft has been a significant beneficiary of the generative AI boom. This partnership has reportedly fueled growth in Microsoft's Azure cloud business and pushed its market value toward $4 trillion. According to data shared by Visible Alpha (seen by the news agency Reuters), the tie-up is expected to have driven a 34.8% increase in Microsoft's cloud service Azure's revenue for the April-June quarter, which exceeds the 33% rise in the last quarter. However, the partnership deal is currently being renegotiated as OpenAI aims for a public listing. As per recent reports, a potential deadlock over the extent of Microsoft's access to the technology of the ChatGPT maker and its stake is expected in the coming days, if OpenAI convert into a public-benefit company. This conversion requires Microsoft's approval and is crucial for a $40 billion funding round led by SoftBank Group, with $20 billion contingent on the restructuring being finalised by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, OpenAI has recently deepened its Oracle ties with a planned 4.5 gigawatts of data centre capacity and added Google Cloud as a supplier for computing capacity. Why investors may still have confidence in the Microsoft OpenAI deal According to a report by Reuters, UBS analysts have noted that investor opinions on the Microsoft–OpenAI deal are mixed. However, Microsoft maintains a stronger position in the partnership. 'Microsoft's leadership earned enough credibility … such that the company will end up negotiating terms that will be in the interest of its shareholders,' the analysts said to Reuters. Some of that confidence among investors appears to be reflected in Microsoft's stock performance, which has gained over 20% so far this year. During the April–June period (fourth quarter of Microsoft's fiscal year), the company may have seen positive effects from a weaker dollar, steady demand for non-AI Azure services, and early Windows orders by PC makers anticipating potential US tariffs, Reuters noted. Meanwhile, revenue is projected to have grown by 14% to $73.81 billion, marking its most significant increase in three quarters, according to LSEG data seen by Reuters. The company's profit is also expected to have risen 14.2% to $25.16 billion, though this represents a slightly slower pace than the prior quarter due to higher operating expenses. Apart from this, capital spending is also likely to draw attention in the earnings call after Alphabet recently announced $10 billion increase in its annual budget. Microsoft has indicated it is still facing capacity limits in AI and suggested further capital expenditure growth after spending over $80 billion last fiscal year. However, the pace may be slower and focused on shorter-term assets like AI chips. According to Dan Morgan of Synovus Trust, who holds Microsoft stock, the investment appears to be yielding results. YSRCP to launch App for reporting ‘harassment and injustice by officials'
The YSRCP is preparing to launch a mobile application next week that is designed to document and report 'instances of harassment and injustice by the officials.' Disclosing this at the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting on Tuesday, YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the app would be useful to lodge complaints against the officials who 'harass or mistreat' people or party workers. 'People can submit detailed accounts of the incidents, along with any supporting evidence, such as photos or documents. They will be securely stored in a digital library server,' he said, adding, 'The moment our government comes to power, we will open this digital library and ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law. Those responsible will be brought to justice with interest. No one will be spared.' Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the NDA dispensation was engaged in 'deception and vengeance.' The Naidu-led government misused State machinery to target YSRCP leaders through false cases and arrests. The arrests of MP Midhun Reddy, Nandigam Suresh, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and Kakani Govardhan Reddy were politically motivated, he alleged. Allegations against police 'A few police officials, including DIGs, DSPs, and CIs, are involved in organised crime, extortion, and illegal liquor auctions, with kickbacks allegedly flowing to the MLAs and even the Chief Minister's family,' Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged. He called upon the leaders to shed complacency and take the lead in revitalising the party's organisational framework. 'Our honeymoon period is over. If we don't act now, we risk losing touch with the people,' he said, adding the party must prepare for elections at any time, and build a strong structure that would ensure YSRCP's continuity for the next 30 to 40 years. He directed that party committees be immediately set up at the village and booth levels. He highlighted the success of the party's campaign titled 'Recalling Chandrababu's Manifesto – Babu Surety, Fraud Guarantee'.
