Lucknow: After a heavy downpour since Saturday the intensity of rain in the city is likely to reduce.
On Wednesday, some parts of the city received heavy rains while others experienced moderate rainfall.

While 57.6 mm was recorded at Amausi airport, 26 mm rainfall was recorded at Kursi road from 8.30 am till 5.30 pm. According to the weatherman the city will continue to experience light rain till the weekend.
Heavy spell of rain for the past few days has brought down the rainfall deficit from 26% till July 31 to 5%.
"Due to the trough line, there will be light rain in the city and east UP region but a heavy rainfall will be received in the parts of west UP.
During the last 24 hours, the southwest monsoon remained active over western Uttar Pradesh and normal over eastern Uttar Pradesh. During this period, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over western Uttar Pradesh with very heavy rainfall at isolated places and light to moderate rainfall at most places over eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Besides, thunderstorms also occurred at some places over entire Uttar Pradesh," said senior scientist Mohammad Danish of the state met department.
He said that on Thursday it will be partly cloudy sky becoming generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers.
The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 32 and 25 degree Celsius respectively. Meanwhile rain/thundershower is very likely at many places over East Uttar Pradesh and at a few places over West Uttar Pradesh.
Also, there is a warning of heavy rain which is very likely at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: The capital continued to reel under warm and humid conditions on Wednesday, as day temperatures climbed marginally, even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted the possibility of very light rain or drizzle. According to IMD officials, Delhi recorded no rainfall during the 24-hour period ending 5:30 pm, marking another dry day for the capital. The sky remained partly cloudy throughout the day, with south-westerly winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 15 kmph. The Safdarjung observatory, the city's base station, logged a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees celsius, 0.6 degree celsius above normal, while the minimum settled at 26.1 degrees celsius, which is marginally below normal by 0.8 degrees celsius. Other stations also reported similar conditions. Lodi Road was the warmest, with the mercury rising to 36 degrees celsius, while Pusa recorded the lowest maximum at 33.1 degrees celsius. Bengaluru woke up to a wet Thursday following overnight rainfall in several parts of the city. As per the observation data of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bengaluru, recorded at 8.30 a.m. on August 7, Bengaluru city station recorded 25.4 mm rainfall, the HAL airport and the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) stations recorded 4 mm and 0.6 mm, respectively. The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 a.m. in Bengaluru city was 20.6 degree Celsius, and at HAL and KIA, the minimum temperatures were 20.4 and 21.2 degree Celsius, respectively. The IMD forecast for Bengaluru city and the neighbourhood for the next 48 hours states that there would be generally cloudy sky. 'Moderate rain, thundershowers likely at isolated places towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperature are very likely to be around 29°C and 20°C respectively,' IMD forecast stated. At 7 a.m. on August 7, IMD issued a nowcast stating that Bengaluru rural and Bengaluru urban areas are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places in next three hours.
