TVS Motor Company, a global leader in two and three-wheeler manufacturing, has introduced the all-new TVS HLX 150 5G in the Republic of Congo. Known for its rugged performance and adaptability, the HLX series has long been a preferred choice in regions with challenging terrains, and this latest update further strengthens its position in the market.
The new TVS HLX 150 5G is equipped with a host of advanced features designed to enhance both style and functionality. It now comes with a bright LED headlamp that improves visibility, especially during night rides or in low-light conditions. An adjustable rear suspension adds to the ride comfort, allowing better handling across rough and uneven surfaces. The stylish 18-inch rear alloy wheel, along with chrome-finished muffler, eye-catching rim tapes, and bold new graphics, lend the bike a contemporary and dynamic look.
At its heart, the HLX 150 5G continues to be powered by the trusted 150cc Eco Thrust engine, now complemented with integrated oil-cooling technology. This ensures not only smooth and efficient power delivery but also contributes to engine durability, making the bike a reliable companion for everyday use. The five-speed gearbox plays a key role in managing diverse terrain, from hilly slopes to poorly paved roads, offering enhanced torque and load-carrying capability.
Built with practicality in mind, the new model features tubeless tyres for better road grip, improved control, and reduced downtime during long-distance travel. A spacious, long seat offers comfort for the rider and passengers, including space for an extra pillion or luggage. The robust rear carrier is designed to handle heavy loads safely, making the HLX 150 5G ideal for both personal transport and commercial use in delivery and motorcycle taxi segments.
Since its debut in Africa in 2013, the TVS HLX series has established itself as a dependable and affordable mobility solution. Today, the series boasts a customer base of over 4 million users across 57 countries, including regions in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. The HLX platform continues to play a crucial role in last-mile connectivity and economic mobility in emerging markets.

US President Donald Trump slams wind and solar energy, calls them ‘scam of the century'

By News Desk Published on August 20, 2025, 19:41 IST U.S. President Donald Trump, who is serving his second non-consecutive term as the 47th President after first holding office as the 45th, has once again taken aim at renewable energy, labeling windmills and solar power as the 'scam of the century.' In a Truth Social post on Monday, August 20, 2025, Trump claimed that states relying on wind and solar are facing 'record-breaking increases in electricity and energy costs.' 'We will not approve wind or farmer-destroying Solar. The days of stupidity are over in the USA!!! MAGA,' Trump wrote, emphasizing his opposition to federal approval of large-scale renewable projects. He also suggested that renewable energy sources are contributing to rising energy bills, without providing supporting evidence. The post, made at 7:21 PM ET, quickly drew attention, garnering over 933 re-truths and 3,000 likes within hours. Trump's statement reflects his long-standing criticism of renewable energy, a position that contrasts with clean energy advocates and industry leaders who argue that solar and wind are vital for reducing carbon emissions and securing long-term energy stability. The remarks also come at a time when U.S. energy policy remains a contentious issue, with climate change, household electricity costs, and energy independence at the forefront of political debate heading into the 2026 midterm elections. Conservationists bring public lands podcast tour to Utah

A coalition of environmental organizations is calling attention to what it describes as attacks on public lands, with a tour through the West that arrives in Utah this week. Why it matters: From wildfires to proposed land sales, Utah's wild places have faced new threats this year amid cuts by the Trump administration and a Republican-led Congress. Driving the news: The Center for Western Priorities is taping a podcast live at Fisher Brewing Company, from 6-9pm Thursday, to discuss the fallout from staff and funding cuts to land management agencies. The big picture: Public lands advocates are celebrating the rejection of Sen. Mike Lee's (R-Utah) controversial proposal to sell off up to 3.3 million acres of public land in Western states. Catch up quick: The National Park Service has lost nearly a quarter of its permanent employees since January, according to a July analysis by the National Parks Conservation Association. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area lost conservation specialists and Arches National Park suspended access to one of its most popular hikes in the aftermath of staffing turmoil this spring. At Zion, the Washington Post reported some bathrooms have been replaced with portable toilets and a ranger said some repairs and improvements were being delayed. Zoom out: In Yosemite, scientists were reassigned to bathroom detail and campgrounds were closed in Colorado's Curecanti National Recreation Area. Meanwhile, Congressional Republicans have proposed defunding the management of about half of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The NPS did not immediately respond to Axios' query Tuesday afternoon. Follow the money: Small businesses in Utah's outdoor industry areas also are strained by President Trump's tariffs and guides are wary of upgrading gear amid projected international tourism losses, Utah Business reported last week.
