Zghal's resume also includes previous collaboration with coach Nabi, stretching back to their work together at Al Ahly SC in Libya around 2013.
His temporary appointment with Kaizer Chiefs during the Apeldoorn camp reflects that longstanding professional connection.

Orlando Pirates news: Exit confirmed, more moves likely
Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed the departure of long-serving striker Zakhele Lepasa, putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding his future. The 28-year-old will now look to revive his career away from Mayfair. Lepasa featured seldom in Pirates' 2024/25 campaign and was also excluded from the club's recent pre-season tour to Spain under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. Despite parting ways, Pirates recently honoured Lepasa's contribution by including him in their ongoing 'Giants' Series documentary, a nod to his role in the club's history. Lepasa isn't the only name potentially heading for the exit. Katlego Otladisa was also absent from the Spain camp, and insiders suggest more changes could be on the horizon. With the transfer window still open until 22 September, the door remains open for late movements. A trusted Siya source indicated: 'With the transfer window open until late September, don't be surprised if there's another addition or two. It will depend on outgoings and how the technical team assesses the balance of the squad coming out of pre-season.' So far, Pirates have confirmed eleven arrivals in the window, including Sipho Mbule, Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi, and Yanela Mbuthuma, bolstering nearly every department of the squad. Sibisi? Xoki? Ndah?: Captaincy question lingers at Orlando Pirates
As the new season kicks off next weekend, questions have arisen regarding the captaincy at Orlando Pirates. Following the departure of regular captain Innocent Maela, the club has not yet announced a new official skipper. Last season, Nkosinathi Sibisi captained most matches and is a strong contender to take on the role permanently. The experienced defender has stepped up in the absence of Olisah Ndah, Tapelo Xoki, and Maela. With new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou set to lead his first official match, it remains uncertain who he will choose as captain of Orlando Pirates. Here are the options for the captaincy: 1. Olisah Ndah When fit, Ndah has proven to be a calming presence in defence and has saved the Buccaneers on several occasions. However, he hasn't played in over a year, and his fitness remains a concern. 2. Tapelo Xoki Although not a favourite among some Pirates fans, the 30-year-old has served the club with dignity over the past three years. His commanding presence and leadership on the pitch have often been praised, which is why Jose Riveiro entrusted him with the captaincy for two seasons. 3. Mbekezile Mbokazi The 19-year-old was given the captain's armband during some pre-season matches, indicating that Ouaddou may see potential leadership qualities in him. While it is unlikely he will be named the new captain, expect him to wear the armband in matches that do not feature Ndah or Sibisi. According to Soccer Laduma , Sibisi is in pole position for the Orlando Pirates captaincy. 'Sibisi is the logical choice to take over permanently, but it might not be a straightforward appointment,' a source told the publication. 'The coaches are also looking at Ndah and Xoki as part of a leadership group, and it could change depending on who's playing and available. It's a long season, and they need flexibility. Kaizer Chiefs news: Post-tour optimism and transfer push
Kaizer Chiefs have returned from their Netherlands pre-season tour with more questions than answers. Despite losing four of five matches, the club's leadership insists the trip was a success. 'We had a very exciting pre-season,' said one insider. 'It was a great space for the team to be in so that coaches can strategise and players blend in.' That optimism might be needed, as the squad is still without a clear solution up front. Management has reportedly given the go-ahead to sign a striker — but only the right one. While several deals have already been completed, Kaizer Chiefs haven't called time on their transfer business. The club is reportedly considering a new striker who was recently offered to them: Congolese striker Ravel Djoumekou 'He has been offered to Chiefs in their quest to sign a striker and now it's up to Chiefs' scouts and analysts,' said a source. Another club insider added that Chiefs are still looking at other options, and may still surprise fans with another signing. The technical team is said to be focused on finding an attacker who can compete in both domestic competition and the CAF Confederation Cup. Whether the offered forward becomes the final addition or if another target emerges remains to be seen. What's clear is that Kaizer Chiefs aren't done yet and management is backing the technical team's plans. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
