Bill Belichick's girlfriend Jordon Hudson accompanied him to a recent interview, during which she interjected on his behalf — leading to an awkward moment in the conversation.
Ahead of the release of his new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football, the legendary former NFL coach, 73, sat down for an interview with CBS News' Sunday Morning — which aired on April 27 — and Hudson, 24, came along for the ride.
The Maine native — who supported Belichick on the interview set in a matching sweatshirt — sat just out of the main frame, with journalist Tony Dokoupil describing her as a 'constant presence' during their conversation.
At one point, Dokoupil acknowledged Hudson's presence while asking Belichick how he feels with all of the public interest in the couple's relationship and private lives.
"I've never been too worried about what everyone else thinks,' the UNC-Chapel Hill head football coach replied, adding that instead, he just tries 'to do what I feel like is best for me, and what's right.'

Then, Dokoupil asked about Belichick's relationship with Hudson, and specifically how they met — and the former cheerleader interjected, shutting down the question from her spot in the corner of the set.
'We're not talking about this,' she said sternly, as Dokoupil turned to her and asked, 'No?'
'No,' she doubled down, making for a visibly awkward moment between the interviewer, interviewee and herself.
In a voiceover during the Sunday Morning segment, Dokoupil moves on from the awkward pause by stating, 'It's a topic neither one of them is comfortable commenting on.'
The journalist then turned his attention to the glimpses the couple has already given into their relationship — Hudson's Instagram posts, including a snap of them doing beach yoga together, and a photo of their mermaid-fisherman Halloween costumes.

After Dokoupil pointed out that these pictures show a 'different side' of Belichick and asked him what the reaction has been like, the interview got awkward once again, with the coaching legend not quite understanding the question.

'Yeah, so I'm on some of those social media platforms,' he replied after more explanation from Dokoupil, 'but I honestly don't follow.'

The football coach and former cheerleader — who reportedly met on a flight in February 2021, per TMZ — were first romantically linked when they were spotted out together in January 2023. The couple officially went public with their romance in June 2024 and, six months later, made their red carpet debut.
While Hudson shut down Dokoupil's question about their relationship, she has previously publicly defended her romance with Belichick — as well as their almost 50-year age gap — from online critics.

Last month, she posted a screenshot of an Instagram exchange in which a person named Abby wrote to Hudson, "But you do realize your relationship is insane right."
Hudson's response? "But you do realize direct messaging a stranger on Instagram with the intent of harassing them regarding their own personal relationship is insane, right?" she wrote.
Hudson also marked up the critic's comment with the correct punctuation, and added a poll asking her followers whether "Abby's manners" or "Abby's punctuation skills" were worse.

In August, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning told NFL teams they shouldn't tank for his grandson, Texas quarterback Arch Manning, ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. That was enough to boost fan and scout excitement for the 2025 season. Though he lacks the experience of other players, Manning is already the favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. He would have to commit to the draft in order for that to happen, leading many to speculate on his plans. While it's possible Manning would want to remain at Texas after this season, the allure of being the top pick in the NFL Draft might be too enticing to pass up. There are plenty of factors in play that will determine whether Manning decides to enter the draft. If he plays well enough to be worth the No. 1 overall pick, Manning could make the decision based on which team holds that selection in the draft. The Manning family has turned down NFL teams in the past, with Eli Manning telling the then-San Diego Chargers not to take him with the first overall pick. The Chargers did select Manning, but traded him to the New York Giants in exchange for Philip Rivers. If Arch Manning struggles, he may opt to return to school and rebuild his value for the 2027 NFL Draft. All of that is unknowable now, which is likely why Manning is keeping his options open. Texas fans may be disappointed that Manning won't commit to the team beyond this season, but they had to see it coming given the level of hype surrounding Manning since he first committed to the program.

Alabama connection helped lead Isaiah Bond to the Browns
The Cleveland Browns made a move on Monday to bolster the wide receiver group by signing undrafted free agent Isaiah Bond. Originally projected as a Day Two selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Bond did not hear his name called as he was facing sexual assault allegations. Those charges were 'no-billed' by a grand jury in Texas last week, however, and the Browns quickly signed Bond on Monday to a three-year, fully guaranteed contract. On Tuesday, Bond met with the media for the first time in Cleveland to talk about why he signed with the Browns and how he plans to repay the team for continuing to show faith in him as he dealt with his legal issues. Bond started his college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, the nation's top college program for the past 18 years, where he spent a season working under Tommy Rees, who is now Cleveland's offensive coordinator. His familiarity with Rees, plus the opportunity to play with wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, an All-American for the Crimson Tide, made the decision to sign with the Browns an easy one, according to Bond (quotes via a team-provided transcript): '(Rees) already knows my skillset. (General manager) Andrew Berry and my agent have been talking since the draft. I also admired (Jerry) Jeudy growing up. That's one reason I went to Alabama, and when my agent said that the Browns want you, I said, let's go just to be under the wing of a guy like Jerry Jeudy to pick his brain and for him to give me some tips. I said it was a no-brainer.' As for what comes next, Bond said he hopes to not only repay the Browns but also work to make a positive impact in the community: 'I'm very excited to get to know my teammates and show the Cleveland Brown community why they made the right decision. I want people to know me as a great human, not only just a great athlete. I will be doing community service in the area to people in need, nonprofit organizations for sure.' Bond spent two seasons at Alabama before transferring to Texas in 2025. In his one season with the Longhorns, Bond had 34 receptions for 540 receiving yards and five touchdowns while averaging 15.9 yards per reception. For his collegiate career, he appeared in 41 games and finished with 99 receptions for 1,428 yards, 14.4 yards per catch, and 10 receiving touchdowns. As Dawgs By Nature's Matthew Wilson highlighted, Bond has the speed and acceleration that can put a scare into opposing defenses in certain situations. Look for head coach Kevin Stefanski to use Bond's speed on screens, end-arounds, and deep passes off of play-action. While that may be the plan early on, Bond believes there is more to his game than just straight-line speed: 'I think if you actually turn on the tape and instead of just the highlights you watch the film, you would see I'm a complete receiver. I know how to run the whole route tree. I'm not just a fast guy. I'm not just catching screens. If you watch the plays, even when I'm not catching the ball, I get open a lot, so I could just say I'm a very complete receiver, and like I said, I'm ready to bring my time to the field.' Bond's NFL career may not be starting the way he anticipated, but now that he is in town, he has a real opportunity to be a difference-maker in an offense that is still looking for big plays. The Browns showed faith in him while he dealt with his off-field issues; it is now up to Bond to make the most of it and start repaying the team both on and off the field.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford practices for 2nd straight day in recovery from back injury
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Matthew Stafford went through his second practice of the summer with the Rams on Tuesday, and coach Sean McVay seemed encouraged by his starting quarterback's progress in his recovery from an injured disk in his back. 'I thought he looked good,' McVay said. 'I thought he looked better than yesterday. I thought it was a step in the right direction. And we're going to continue to hope that he's able to stack days and feel good, and it's what's happened so far.' McVay remains cautiously optimistic about Stafford's progress after missing all of the Rams' two-week training camp at Loyola Marymount University and the past two weeks of preseason work at the team's facility in the San Fernando Valley, while balancing it with an awareness any sort of twinge or soreness could reset the quarterback's progress. 'Backs can be a volatile thing,' McVay said. 'This is definitely positive progress. But what I think you want to be able to say is, hopefully after a few minutes, settle down, 'Am I still feeling good? Do I wake up tomorrow still feeling good?' And those are the steps that I think are the appropriate measures to be able to take. But it certainly is trending in a positive direction for us.' McVay said Stafford did more in terms of challenging himself against a live pass rush, including moving in the pocket, working with the first-team offense against the starting defense. Stafford could share his assessment for the first time later this week as he is scheduled to meet with the media Thursday barring any setbacks. McVay declined to answer if Stafford has received additional epidural injections to allow him to resume practicing, preferring to keep the matter internal. McVay also said he has not decided if Stafford or other senior players will travel with the Rams for their last preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. ___ AP NFL:
